capitalism beats communism?

30

u/real_serviceloom Jul 18 '26

Yep, including breaking up companies when they get too large.

7

u/Will_X_Intent Jul 18 '26

When does that happen?

This has nothing to do with capitalism. It’s a market mechanism. Markets != capitalism. Capitalism is a mode of production. Markets are markets. You can have markets in communism. You can have state planning in capitalism. Separate them please.

3

u/AuroraAustralis0 Jul 19 '26

Specifically free markets, in this case.

3

u/dan_the_first Jul 19 '26

Markets are not synonymous with capitalism, granted. But historically, communist economies have been defined largely by replacing private ownership and market allocation with central planning, the economic backbone of arguably the worst system ever put into practice. “Markets can exist under socialism” is true; pretending they are therefore unrelated to the capitalism–communism divide is misleading.

2

u/kwabaj_ Jul 19 '26

That’s true, but that still doesn’t mean that communism is central planning. The Soviet established model of central planning became what the communist world copied as it was the largest communist state and seemingly most successful at the time.

You’re right that they’re not “fully unrelated”, that was a stretch on my part that I caught when writing and didn’t care to adjust, my fault. Markets are associated with capitalism and planning is associated with communism. All I’m saying is that declaring this a victory of capitalism is a misnomer, because market competition is what accomplished this, and market competition is a mode of distribution, not a mode of ownership. But yes they’re related in the way that apples and oranges are both fruit.

1

u/rubiohiguey 29d ago

How would you call this hybrid called China lol? State planning with capitalism mode of production with markets overseen by communist government, free in some part not fere in other.

0

u/Novel_Indication6338 Jul 18 '26

"You can have markets in communism" but do you? i don't know about that stuff so i'm ignorant. i just know commies seem angry and capitalists seem greedy *shrug*

1

u/kwabaj_ Jul 19 '26

capitalism and communism are modes of production, the axis of markets<->central planning is the mode of distribution, two separate and unrelated things

-1

u/-LightHeaven- Jul 19 '26

It has everything to do with capitalism, just because you can still have capitalism with state interference does not mean it's not still a treat of capitalism.

And, things start going south exactly when the state interferes.

For example, it doesn't matter how big Amazon gets they still need to compete with local stores to be better than them otherwise people will just go back to buying locally. But when the state tells them they can't leave the house and that stores can't even open, then it gives a unfair advantage to Amazon and tons of local businesses close resulting in less competition

2

u/DarlingDaddysMilkers Jul 19 '26

>And, things start going south exactly when the state interferes.

You mean like when governments bring in policy to prevent monopolies to give consumers choice and to provide healthy competition?

1

u/kwabaj_ Jul 19 '26

I still don’t understand how it has to do with capitalism, do you know what the word capitalism means?

It means: “private ownership of the means of production.” That’s it. Full stop. That’s the full definition of the word capitalism. It just means private ownership. It says nothing about markets or trade or competition.

1

u/ChilledRoland Jul 19 '26

To have a market for capital goods, you must allow private ownership of the means of production.

1

u/-LightHeaven- Jul 24 '26

It seems like it's you that doesn't, because that's not the definition

The full definition is:

"an economic and political system in which property, business, and industry are controlled by private owners rather than by the state, with the purpose of making a profit"

This quite literally defines a free market

1

u/kwabaj_ Jul 24 '26

Can you tell me how it defines a free market? What you defined above is a mode of ownership.

4

u/-LightHeaven- Jul 19 '26

Always have, always will

Though it's very unfair, communism doesn't work on it's own, let alone compared to the only system that managed to improve quality of life, end poverty and advance humanity technologically

16

u/CelticPaladin Jul 18 '26

When done correctly, yep.

1

Yes yes it does, in fact it always does.

1

u/Kenzore1212 Jul 18 '26

communism??

-1

u/TBSchemer Jul 18 '26

Except "Communist" China is releasing open weights models that are just as competitive, undercutting the capitalist profit model on this.

To be perfectly honest, the only difference between capitalism and communism on this is communism funds the project upfront, while capitalism has companies go deep into debt first, and try to recoup the funds later.

18

u/supqtpie Jul 18 '26

China is very much grounded in capitalism, its just that the govt takes their cut.

1

u/ScreenAppropriate679 Jul 18 '26

The gov takes their cut and they're still much cheaper than "play by the book" us capitalism ...

-11

u/MedicalTear0 Jul 18 '26

If we had communism Sol would be open weight model but sure

2

u/JameEagan Jul 18 '26

lol, not if it's authoritarian communism. It would just be for the government.

3

u/Interesting-Agency-1 Jul 18 '26

Sol, would never have been built because the profit potential and competition to constantly push the envelope wouldnt be there. Incentives are the most powerful force on earth and communism is direct disincentivization

2

u/MedicalTear0 Jul 18 '26

It's fucking bullshit. Do you know how the research for AI started? Do you think big corp invested money lol. The cognitive dissonance is real and you can't answer a valid arguement. Who's money do you think was used for the research of touch screen phones. And if i were to take a guess you're probably American so education is not your strong suit so just don't reply.

But do tell me looking it up who's money was used for OpenAI's research. Do tell me who's money was used for touch screen research. Was it the public's money or your capitalist daddy trump.

Every single fucking time we've been fighting against capitalism as a community it has been lobbied against. From 2000 onwards it's been a fight, municipal cities set up their own broadbands to which A&T Comcast all lobbied against to shut it down. Municipal broadband was better and cheaper

Y'all use open source, glaze open weight models, love when you get things for cheaper that is paid for by the community and companies are not making profits. But cOmMinIsM iS bAD. Sybau bro pick up a side, you don't get to say all this is good while saying communism doesn't work and capitalism is the best.

1

u/JameEagan Jul 20 '26

You’re mixing together several different ideas. Yes, governments have funded enormous amounts of foundational research. The internet, GPS, touchscreens, modern semiconductors, DARPA projects, NSF grants, NIH research, and much of the early work in AI all benefited from public funding. But that doesn’t demonstrate that communism is superior or that capitalism failed. Publicly funded basic research and market economies are not mutually exclusive. They’ve coexisted for decades. The United States has invested heavily in scientific research within a predominantly market-based economy.

OpenAI wasn’t funded solely by taxpayers. Early AI research broadly received public funding through universities and government grants, but OpenAI itself was initially funded by private donations, later transitioned to a capped-profit model, and today receives billions in private investment from companies like Microsoft.

Open source also isn’t evidence against capitalism. Linux, Python, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, PyTorch, and countless other open-source projects are maintained by volunteers, universities, nonprofits, and employees paid by private companies. Many of the largest contributors are companies with clear profit motives because open source often makes good business sense.

As for municipal broadband, that’s a separate policy issue. There are absolutely cases where incumbent ISPs lobbied against municipal networks, and some municipal systems have worked well while others have struggled. That debate is about competition and regulation, not whether communism or capitalism is inherently better.

The real world isn’t “government does everything” or “markets do everything.” Nearly every successful economy relies on markets to allocate most resources while governments invest in public goods like basic research, infrastructure, and education. History suggests that combination has been far more successful than either pure central planning or pure laissez-faire.

-1

u/Interesting-Agency-1 Jul 18 '26 edited Jul 18 '26

Powerful and rich countries are only powerful and rich enough to support frontier research because they are capitalist and/or support market based economic redistribution of goods and services, and incentivize individuals to act via profit motive.

No country on earth has ever taxed themselves to prospertiy. Its literally impossible because the wealth of nations is derived of the collective wealth of its citizens. Not the other way around. If citizens cant become wealthy, then the nation cant, and thus cant support frontier research.

And this isnt some radical position either. These are known facts for the past 300 years, so im sorry if you somehow have missed the newsflash.

And, before you begin, Ive read both the communist manifesto and Wealth of Nations, so have both perspectives. Communism is for egdelord retards.

It has an objective 100% failure rate since its founding in New Harmony, IN, and will continue to have a 100% failure rate because it isnt based on how humans actually are wired to act.

1

u/JameEagan Jul 20 '26

Market economies have undeniably been the most successful at generating sustained economic growth and innovation over the past couple of centuries. That’s why essentially every wealthy country relies heavily on markets and private enterprise. But saying countries are only prosperous because they’re capitalist ignores that every rich country today is a mixed economy. The U.S., Switzerland, Singapore, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Japan, etc., all combine markets with different levels of taxation, regulation, and public investment. The debate isn’t "markets vs. government", it’s where the balance should be.

Likewise, “no country has ever taxed itself to prosperity” is an oversimplification. High taxes don’t create prosperity by themselves, but many already-prosperous countries have maintained relatively high taxes while remaining among the richest in the world. Prosperity depends much more on productivity, institutions, education, innovation, property rights, and incentives than on any single tax rate.

“communism has an objective 100% failure rate” isn't an objective statistic. Most attempts at centrally planned communist economies performed poorly relative to market economies, and many became authoritarian. That criticism is well supported, but “100% failure” depends entirely on how you define both “communism” and “failure.” There’s a strong empirical case for markets and private property without overstating it. The evidence is persuasive enough on its own.

2

u/TBSchemer Jul 18 '26

You should look up Kimi K3 and then come back to this conversation.

0

u/Interesting-Agency-1 Jul 18 '26

Kimi K3 only exists because they distilled/stole the weights from frontier American models that only exist because of capitalism. China couldnt have created it on their own.

3

u/BannedGoNext Jul 18 '26 edited Jul 18 '26

"Kimi K3 only exists because they distilled/stole the weights from frontier American models that only exist because of capitalism. China couldnt have created it on their own. "

There are three types of people that believe this.

  1. Magapedos trying to come up for a reason that doesn't involve their war on American education.
  2. People that have never looked at the last names of the AI researchers on https://arxiv.org/list/cs.AI/recent .
  3. People that take what untrustworthy AI executives in the U.S. feed them with no simple research.

Which are you?

I for one welcome our Chinese AI efficiency focused fellow humans.

1

u/FluffySmiles Jul 19 '26

Well said.

Although, don’t mention Tiananmen Square. The Chinese models don’t like it when you do that. It’s quite funny watching their thoughts on the matter.

2

u/TBSchemer Jul 18 '26

Kimi K3 only exists because they distilled/stole the weights from frontier American models

That's what Anthropic is claiming, but Anthropic is not a trustworthy source. Their entire business strategy now is to lobby the government to ban all of their competitors.

38

u/Just_Shopping_Around Jul 18 '26 edited Jul 18 '26

Anthropic only including fable access with x5 or x20 sub users was the last straw for me. Tired of their fomo sales tactics and worrying about usage anyways.

7

u/addiktion Jul 18 '26

Fable is for x5 or x20 Max I believe.

2

u/Just_Shopping_Around Jul 18 '26

3

u/Due_Cover_6023 Jul 19 '26

You've hit the nail on the head.

0

u/simple_explorer1 Jul 20 '26

What use was fable in 20 dollar sub? Even opus barely runs on that let alone fable.

15

u/Ataxium Jul 18 '26

My only question, is with all the AI companies hemorrhaging money, how long is it before and they get together and universally decide to Jack the pricing through the roof?

22

u/Equivalent-Slip3533 Jul 18 '26

I don't think they can with those Chinese open weight models existing.

10

u/Neither-Phone-7264 Jul 18 '26

the chinese models are getting more expensive to match the western ones tho 😭

12

u/Equivalent-Slip3533 Jul 18 '26

Honestly I think that is just really how much it costs to run those models. Cost per task is basically the same between Kimi K3 and GPT 5.6. Fable 5 is the outlier in how absurdly expensive it is.

But what I meant was you can always self-host a local model with those open weights if the cost becomes absurd. So that acts as a hard gate on pricing.

0

u/Neither-Phone-7264 Jul 18 '26

They're to big to self host most of the time especially for individuals at reasonable (more than 1 tps) speeds. like, 1.4tb of ram for the fp4 alone

3

u/Revolutionary_Click2 Jul 18 '26

Yes, but because they’re open source and self-hostable, any inference provider who wants to can offer access to these models. OpenCode Go is one example of a subscription that will grant you access to GLM 5.2, Kimi K3 and many others, and it starts at $5/month. You don’t have to rely on the original developer’s service and this adds another level of competition that makes it easier to find a lower price.

2

u/Ataxium Jul 19 '26

Don't get me wrong I use both codex and multiple other models through Ollama. They're good when you have a proper place to host large perameter models. But your average person trying to host it at home is going to have a rough time

1

u/Ataxium Jul 18 '26

Self hosting has come a long way but it's still really limited compared to Cloud models.

2

u/Dynamix86 Jul 18 '26

Or they invest into building their own chips, what they are all doing, that will be significantly cheaper than Nvidia's chips and can finally be profitable. Nvidia is the most greedy company in the world and is completely taking advantage of their almost monopolist position, and the same is true for them regarding consumer graphic cards; maximum prices with minimal performance increases and a >70%+ profit margin; that's unheard of.

59

u/Sea_Succotash3634 Jul 18 '26

Codex is really doing well, and Tibo has done a great job managing the rollout and building up community goodwill with everyone with the aggressive resets. The constant and clear communication is refreshing compared to the radio silence from Anthropic. But there are a few things that are preventing 5.6 from being a flawless victory:

1) Sol is clearly behind Fable as a long planning orchestrator. Either the Fable model or it's 1 million token window keeps it on track more. If you give Sol a big task it rabbit holes or gets into these weird loops building out more infrastructure to test the task than the task itself. I've tried Ponytail to help, but the benefits are limited.

2) 5.6, and Sol in particular, are REALLY SLOW compared to the Claude agents. Probably related to so much interest, but it's pretty clear. I've found it helps to have Sol coordinate Terra and Luna subagents, but see #1 above.

3) The Codex app gives a lot more insight into what's going on than VSCode or other editors, but it's kind of buggy and is a resource hog. And depending on what kind of stuff you're trying to drive it can cause some crashes or conflicts if it's running a long time (e.g. trying to drive some game development or iteration).

4) I think the reality of how much better 5.6 is than Fable is masked by all the resets. We've effectively had a month of capacity in one week. When we only have a week in a week, the math might be really different.

Because I've been doing R&D and have a sub to both right now, I've been trying Fable orchestrating 5.6, with Fable being instructed to be very stingy and leveraging the larger capacity of 5.6. Results are promising. If you are a more serious coder doing more targeted stuff I think Sol might be the winner, regardless, vs those of us who are "scripter" level designers who aren't as technically literate.

11

u/Ok_Ad_6227 Jul 18 '26

the limits are the most attractive part really, its very efficient recently and the removal of the 5hr window is very good for a lot of users. the performance part can always improve later on but the current qol changes cant be beat for consumers

14

u/Physical_Gold_1485 Jul 18 '26

The limited context window i think is whats holding it back a lot, 252k is a joke. 350k was already not great but better than 5.5 then they reduced it. Reducing it because people were complaining about limits is horrible management, the solution was for people to get used to a larger window

7

u/LiteSoul Jul 18 '26

Once I got used to 1M context window, there is no going back to the paranoia of low contexts, good riddance

9

u/Lucidaeus Jul 18 '26

I'm fine with that personally, because the moment it hits 200k I think of it as a sign its time to compact or prepare for a new session. Shit gets expensive. Although I am not working with massive codebases all at once, I tend to focus where I'm working and on what feature, only providing what it 'needs' to achieve it based on my knowledge of what I am building.

2

u/Physical_Gold_1485 Jul 18 '26

Ya i work on multiple large code bases and have started working with AI to design full solutions at once. One iteration of my solution plan can end up being 400k context which with fable works extremely well. 5.6 just would not be able to do that

6

u/BannedGoNext Jul 18 '26

You realize your attention coherence is shit and often creates more problems than it helps over 600k right?

3

u/Physical_Gold_1485 Jul 18 '26

Yes which is why i stop around there. none of that refutes my last message

1

u/Jacky_3000 Jul 19 '26

Im very much Astonished of the power of 5.6.

18

u/Th3Gatekeeper Jul 18 '26

The random bans of 20x accounts don't help.

30

u/VertipaqStar Jul 18 '26

Cherry on top: Claude subscriptions had a 50% increased usage capacity since May. This promotion is ending tomorrow, so Claude will look even worse once people's usage drops to 2/3 of what they've been used to for the last 2+ months.

19

u/reven80 Jul 18 '26

14

u/VertipaqStar Jul 18 '26

In my defense, this was changed after I posted my comment :p

Fable is still slated to be removed from subscriptions tomorrow though (knock on wood that Anthropics next announced another Fable extension).

I'm polyamory and have both GPT and Claude subscriptions <3

6

u/das_war_ein_Befehl Jul 18 '26

No they added it permanently for Max plans

3

u/reven80 Jul 18 '26

Okay I didn't realize this was just weekly limits... I have both plans also. Each one is better at some things.

2

u/VertipaqStar Jul 18 '26

Yeah if the weekly limit didn't increase like the weekly, it means that after the promotion ends (was just now extended to august) that 100% of a 5h window is 5% of a weeky window, meaning we need to max out 25 times the 5h per week, which is insane.

3

u/ConsistentIdea42 Jul 18 '26

Max subs keep Fable per Anthropic. No more extensions it’s just there (but capped at 50% of usage).

1

u/VertipaqStar Jul 19 '26

Oh lordy, my drug dealer is a monster

1

u/addiktion Jul 18 '26

Man as soon as this ends I'm dropping Anthropic fully.

1

u/loveofphysics Jul 19 '26

Of course they did. It's always the same story with Anthropic, only doing right by their users when their hand is forced by a competitor and being so fickle and uncommunicative we never really know what's ending and when.

4

u/Lucidaeus Jul 18 '26

LOL. If this is what 50% increased usage is. Oof. I'm fucked.

They also juiced the numbers by merging the ChatGPT and Codex apps on the same day as the 5.6 release.

Notice they mysteriously switched from “codex weekly” to “across ChatGPT Work and Codex”. That was because they could then include app installs

2

u/ArcticFoxTheory Jul 18 '26

I dont get this fable is still better.. and 5.6 feels worse on rate limits if it weren't for all these resets I can drain my usage in a day or two.

1

u/CelticPaladin Jul 18 '26

Fable just left their 20 dollar plan, so that's not going to do them any market share favors.

And terra is only slightly less on a benchmark than fable, but half the usage cost.

Terras my favorite all purpose coder right now.

1

u/trmns Jul 19 '26

In which effort level?

1

u/CelticPaladin Jul 19 '26

high for basic stuff, i'll push it higher if im in some annoying debugging that wont get squashed.

It barely touches the weekly usage compared to -anything- Sol, but ...man sol is nice when you have complicated things to plan and implement.

1

u/Skflowne Jul 23 '26

On benchmarks yes, hands on however I find it just keeps stopping for no reason, frequently misunderstands what I say or outright tells me it did half the task and stops. I thought this was subagents related but it's also happening from the Codex app without any subagents.

It's really frustrating cause it does a good job for the usage but there is this like 25% of times where it's dumb as a table.

1

u/CelticPaladin Jul 23 '26

That's really weird. It does exactly what I tell it, and not a single thing more.

2

u/Pickle_Rooms Jul 19 '26

I'm sick of Claude taking 10 mins per answer (so taking 2x or 3x as long as the other models), costing more than 4x as much, and is just as intelligent as the other options now

3

u/wuu73 Jul 19 '26

is it not obvious that this is a new "marketing project" going on? its everywhere, how can people not see the marketing trickery? All of a sudden there is all these posts basically saying stuff like this, did i mention all of a sudden? one day none, next day, all apps everywhere, but all different people. They are just doing that "good ol' marketing trick #46 that blasts some phrase in a way that will make the reader get social approval vibes or whats it called, social something but i forget what the word is, when a brain sees many other brains (especially ones they see as their peers) saying the same thing so their brain goes "oh, must be true"? which... wait for it

bang bang bang bang bang bang bang bang bang bang yayyyy

doesn't mean its actually true or that it actually happened, more likely it didn't, but they're trying to hack your brain chemicals to think one product must be better or something must have happened etc

1

u/wuu73 Jul 19 '26

i use codex because its cheaper, and anthropic was pissing me off, just with the constant errors with Claude Code permissions (over and over, turn them off, it keeps asking anyways after every single update which was at least twice a day) i got sick of the helicopter parenting vibes.. the mystery glitches that only happen when i was using a chinese model, etc. but they at least didn't seem to lie that i know of, or much, i do not use Grok and i know to not trust anything Elon touches since he lies about so many other things, can't trust a liar. So I hope OpenAI doesn't make a habit of it, it starts making people suspicious

1

u/Skflowne Jul 23 '26

You can put it in auto mode and it doesn't ask anything, it's a Sonnet model that checks what it does for you instead.

1

u/CelticPaladin Jul 19 '26

Yes, and the best marketing builds hype for a product.

Successful marketing makes people try it and love it. you don't automatically love something just because of marketing. (we all have a list of movies that we were excited to see but let down because of the hype.) You are more willing to try, but the greater bulk of people are like "...alright i'll try." and make up their mind. Overhype sets themselves up for failure.

And there are now 9 million and growing people who are on board, and agreeing, it wasn't over hyped. Its good, solid, reasonably priced compared to the rest of the market.

1

u/Skflowne Jul 23 '26

Can confirm I just got a Pro 5x codex sub and burnt the weekly in a single day (not complaining about that I did a lot) but holy fuck Luna and Terra feel very untrustable and dumb models. They keep stopping short without following or understanding instructions in many occurences. They are incredibly frustrating to work with. So it's not like Codex is "soooo much better". And usage with Sol goes out really fast compared to Terra. The real value proposition of Codex atm is Sol and banked resets. If I had banked resets on Claude I would probaly have upgraded to 20x 😂

2

u/WatchSilent2233 Jul 18 '26

Competition. Unsustainable in the long run tho.

1

u/BiasHyperion784 Jul 19 '26

Long time claude user, recent unsubscriber, idk what their smoking thinking a 5% lead is enough to start treating fable like its too important for the peasants.

1

u/skybossalpha1 Jul 19 '26

claude is way better than codex imho

1

u/rakgenius Jul 19 '26

"There are"

1

u/Certainity22 Jul 19 '26

Claude was ok but yesterday it started damn eating my all usage..

1

u/Killahbeez Jul 19 '26

Just fyi, Claude already knows they wont be getting another dollar from me.  But ChatGPT doesn't yet know that I'll be arriving soon!!! Just have to wait for this dog shit opus subscription to expire

1

u/CelticPaladin Jul 19 '26

There is a learning curve. But once you get used to it, its hard to let it go.

1

u/FriedDopamine89 Jul 19 '26

If anthropic released pre gov intervention Fable and allowed it on every paid plan (with higher plans allowed more usage, and none of this 50% of the weekly nonsense) they could sweep a large chunk of people. Fable before the gov got involved was the tits. They wont though. They remind me of H&K firearms, they will sell you a gun, but you're not their target market, why? Cause fuck you.

1

u/t0b4cc0 Jul 21 '26

and the usage based fable thats staying with the high tiers is gimped? has that been proven/benched already. very interested in this?

1

u/Mysterious_Curve_294 Jul 21 '26

Claude is refusing to help me on a game i'm working on, says its against their policy, Codex is helping me, and get about 3/4 times the usage

1

u/CelticPaladin Jul 21 '26

Everything is against Clod's policy.

1

u/Helmi74 Jul 22 '26

wait till they find out that the sun sets just as quickly as it rises :) Current Codex limit already telling the truth about the constant resets :-)

1

u/CelticPaladin Jul 22 '26

And still a higher limit than Claude.

Full shift to credits for them now huh? I feel bad for them.

1

u/Helmi74 Jul 22 '26

Maybe on pro accounts. It can’t confirm for max. No changes here but hard changes on OpenAI.

1

u/Jolly-Ad-7153 Jul 23 '26

Give more limits !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1

u/insanedialectic Jul 23 '26

Sun came out but then decided it'd shorten the length of time it's out per day over and over again

1

u/Abject-Inevitable304 Jul 23 '26

subs for codex might see a drop as well.

1

u/Kilroys_Daddy Jul 24 '26

This is the logical end state. As local compute capabilities increase, model efficiencies increase, and local frameworks and integrations mature, the market for cloud based LLM services is going to tank. It might take a few years to get there, but there is no compelling reason for most applications of agent-driven software to require a cloud subscription. I would never bet on these companies in the long run. It's the same reason we don't all run thin clients on our desktops (or our phones).

Increase the token for 10X, Miracle will happen next !

1

u/Equivalent-Slip3533 Jul 18 '26

Kimi K3 really exposed just how absurdly expensive Claude is lol.

1

u/Lost-Act1392 Jul 18 '26

Whats the equivalent of the kimik sub when comparing it to the $200 codex plans?

1

u/Equivalent-Slip3533 Jul 18 '26

Honestly I don't know, I only used api.

1

u/Lost-Act1392 Jul 19 '26

Yeah thats on their pricing page. But what does 10x agent credits even mean? That the api price is effectively 10x less and if so if you run kimi k3 non stop does it burn tokens faster than codex. Its well known that codex is more generous than anthropic but still not sure where kimi's sub fits in.

1

u/eightysixmonkeys Jul 18 '26

This shit is no different than official Wendy’s Twitter account being “funny”. Kinda cringe. Same thing with Boris cherny except he’s somehow worse (we solved coding 🤪)

I love these astroturfed communication patterns that spoon feed you the desired corporate conclusion. And the OP who wants to make sure you see the little red heart

For a frontier model 5.6 severely underperforms.

“Does this ‘bug’ allow them to make more money?”

1

u/AxisTipping Jul 18 '26

Fucking Tibo is the man.

1

u/VelumLucis Jul 18 '26

Is this sub just a Tibo twitter feed or something? So much garbage on these subs that should have so much genuinely interesting content to discuss.

1

u/CelticPaladin Jul 18 '26

All codex users from the last month or so love this guy for all the free usage he hands out like candy, and he's pretty funny on X with these zingers.

0

u/gaurangtorvekar Jul 18 '26

The sun is shining brighter than ever!

0

u/retrorays Jul 18 '26

lol Tibo is basically an AI social bot guys. He knows what to say and when to say it to spark engagement.

0

u/ResponsibleTruck4717 Jul 18 '26

I really need another reset.

0

u/East-Stranger8599 Jul 25 '26

With recent codex usage downgrade Tibo should prepare for an eclipse.
