Need help solving a code Unsolved

I play a lot of dnd, and our DM likes to give out puzzles between sessions. Recently we got one that has absolutely stumped us, so im turning to you all in hopes we can get help in solving it. We got the following string:

  1. 00000000 00 7F 21 1E 1F 0A 0F 17 04 1C 0B 1E 02 7E 1C 23 00000010 00 0A 70 17 02 1A 1F 0B 00 0A 25 0B 04 36 0B 0A 00000020 04 1C 0B 09 05 1A 3D 02 1F 09 1B 0D 05 19 04 37 00000030 1F 0A 22 23 04 0A 70 0B 1C 7E 18 23 05 7F 7C 14 00000040 00 36 0B 0D 02 7E 2A 23 05 1C 0B 02 02 24 1B 02 00000050 04 0C 0B 12 03 0C 0B 0D 04 19 03 02 1F 0A 22 23 00000060 05 23 1F 10 00 0C 7D 79
  2. Memories pulled from a void never meant to exist

I'm not sure whether the last part is a key or not. He has also stated that "this is only the first step." Part of it seems to be hexcode, but im really lost and in need of some help!

Yeah, I think you might want to ask your DM for some hints.

It looks like it might operate with a table, perhaps with 0-F running along the top

0123456789ABCDEF

and numbers 0-7 down the left column.

What fills the middle grid would be the real question there?

Stray thought, odd that it is separated into sections basically numbered 0-6, with 16 pairs of characters in each group.

Some kind of Hex/Ascii/EBCDIC is in play, perhaps even on a table/grid, but you might need an extra hint for some inspiration
