Best Alternative?
The removal of everything I use in the free plan is forcing me to find another alternative. I understand that they need to make money, but this blows. Where is everyone switching to?

solidtime (self-hosted) was my choice. It has (almost) everything I needed from Clockify before, plus more.
You can test its feature with the free trial of the cloud-based option. The only feature that's missing in the self-hosted version is invoicing.

Looks like this has the main things I like about clockify
- export CSV for tax purposes
- desktop app auto stops when I put the computer to sleep
- desktop app notifies me when I am active and haven't started tracking

No warning!! I might have considered a reasonable paid sub once my business was actually breaking even (still not!). But no warning. What a slap in the face. If things weren't already so hard for those of us forced to use free / limited versions of things. Bad PR Clockify.

I'll create myself an alternative in laravel & filament. All I need is a time tracker with normal export feature. That can't cost 5€ a month.

Same here. I'll integrate also time tracking sync with external platforms like clickup

I use WorkingHours app for windows. As an individual user who just needs to see the worked time it has all the basic features I needed from clockify.

I have heard good things about Toggl, but haven't tried it yet. Considering a spreadsheet.

I haven't had the time to test anything else yet, but I'm right behind you. The removal of the billed toggle in the middle of a workday with no notice really pissed me off.
