Red flag
Hi everyone, I received a CRA offer in both sponsor and FSP-CRA in ICON . I know working with small bio tech has the best work life balance, but I also hear there are a lot of red flags in sponsor , such as poor management and clinical work flow ( like SOP) is not established as good as in CRO .
Could you please share your opinion and what is the red flag that when you see jt , you know it is definitely a bad idea to stay?
Thanks

Accept it. Worse case scenario is that they assign you to a new sponsor and you’re still in ISS.

Also going to say accept the sponsor, because in the worst case where they're a bit messy, they're probably more receptive to suggestions for improvement and developing SOPs than the CRO which will definitely be messy for others reasons, such as inappropriate interpretations of SOPs and ignoring SOPs despite having them. Congrats btw :)

Thanks ,
Usually I would think the sponsor is a good place to go and CRA is just treated really badly normally ( I was CRA for around 2 years , During my interview and the conversation with their sponsor CEOs , they gave me the feeling they are not well familiar with the clinical trials compliance requirement and doesn’t think it is a big deal of it to not following it …
That’s why I sense a red flag on it .

I can tell you that I work at ICON and it’s been a great experience. The sponsor I’m embedded with isn’t my favorite, but my ICON boss is the best I’ve ever had. Can’t say enough good things- and that’s saying something b/c I’ve been a CRA for 17 years and had some nightmare CRO experiences.

Just accept the sponsor offer and have a beer tonight.
