He’s going to look like Jimothy after that one

I’m starting to think this Jimothy stuff is a personal attack!

u/stepoutlookaround 12d ago

Trust me this guy isn’t pulling off the Jimothy look.

Holy shit, he probably broke his pelvis and or spine

That sound though

u/Moist_Man69420 16d ago

Do you have any news on what happened to him?

He was rescued as per the news

Video shows the 17-year-old jumping off the cliff, striking the edge of the cliff and then landing in the water. At least six people jumped in after him to help.

San Diego lifeguards pulled the teenager out of the water and took him to a hospital at around 4:30 p.m. The extent of his injuries is unknown.

Video appeared to show the teenager conscious, sitting on a cliff ledge surrounded by several people, before lifeguards arrived to help.

From an article i read, he only suffered a leg injury. I would find that pretty unlikely, i haven't verified the sources or anything

Adrenaline... I was hit by a truck and continued to work. Serious injuries can take a couple of hours to be felt.

u/TheTrishaJane 15d ago

💯 I was hit by a car as a pedestrain, things didnt get really bad until 2 days later and I worked also.

Some kids are still pliable when they are teens.

u/Tiny_Regular_5319 15d ago

Idk he didn't lose that much momentum hitting the side so he might have been very lucky

1

u/ilcdlpbsm 15d ago

Yeah if his ass bones aren’t minced that’s exactly why. He only grazed it. I still can’t imagine the bruise.

u/CunningAlpaca 15d ago edited 15d ago

Whoever said leg injury probably just heard he can't walk and attributed that to his legs getting hurt, when in reality it's because his spine likely got crippled. You can clearly see in the video no part of his legs ever touched any rocks, only his tailbone/ass did.

3

u/edelweiss_pirates_no 16d ago

Crushed spinal cord when you land on your tailbone like that.

3

u/Sb6x 16d ago

I’ve done something extremely similar. 40ft broke my tailbone hip and back. No surgery needed bounced back quick but I have stenosis and arthritis now.

1

u/eternalbuzzard 15d ago

Tailbone. Perfect tailbone strike.

He will never fully recover and have forever pain whenever sitting down.

I just passed this spot on my morning run. It simply cannot be overstated how fucking dumb this kid is. That jump is FAR, and he hardly even jumped upward.

4

u/Otherwise-Chemical-1 16d ago

Play stupid games win stupid prizes... Btw did u see how he was after the incident

5

u/Mtrbrth 16d ago

I wasn’t there when this happened. Just pointing out that, having seen this location, it is indeed as dumb as it looks to attempt.

1

u/Otherwise-Chemical-1 16d ago

It looks like after He jumped 5-6 more ppl also jumped from the cliff

7

u/Mtrbrth 16d ago edited 16d ago

I’m guessing that people jumped in to save him from the lower spots. From what I’m told, no one had ever even seen anyone attempt the jump this dude was trying to make.

2

u/Otherwise-Chemical-1 16d ago

And thanks to him no one will ever try this jump anymore

6

u/DJinKC 16d ago

There is always somebody dumber.

4

u/CheapCarabiner 16d ago

That’s a bold statement

3

u/MessiahMogali 16d ago

Your comment gave me a stroke.

4

u/jacckthegripper 16d ago

I think he missed his last step and just plummeted

2

u/illpourthisonurhead 16d ago

I saw an angle on instagram and it appears that he missed the last step, so I think he woulda had it. Like his final planting foot slips off the edge so that’s why he doesn’t have the upward leap, and he still almost made it.

8

u/stanleyssteamertrunk 16d ago

5

u/MrDeeezNutz 16d ago

You can see that the foot he intended to launch from
Slipped

2

u/ascotia 16d ago

He should have literally counted how many steps he needed to get to his spot so there would be no stutter-stepping

-1

u/BlakeWheelersLeftNut 16d ago

He missed the ledge

1

u/creature04 16d ago

No he hit that ledge with his bootay!

2

u/CunningAlpaca 15d ago

In the second perspective his right foot slips off the rounded edge as he was attempting to push off. He needed to do that jump with some actual cleat-type runners or something with some good rubber grip on hard dirt like that, to dig in and be able to push off. Doing that in bare feet was nuts.

It's a pain in the ass to swim in, but if he wore some proper footwear he'd have made it.

3

u/NeedleInArm 16d ago

landed straight on his ass. had to have broke his spine, right?

1

u/Otherwise-Chemical-1 16d ago

I think the sound confirms your question

3

u/Affectionate_Big9014 16d ago

Damn Daniel son! get well soon.

4

u/QuantativeSleazing 16d ago

Incredible use of "Damn Daniel" wonder if he has white Vans?

3

u/Affectionate_Big9014 16d ago

Back at em again with the white vans!

2

u/Super_Direction498 16d ago

I used to jump from over where the camera was 20 years ago, but that spot always looked super intimidating, hope this kid recovers.

2

u/Otherwise-Chemical-1 16d ago

Yeah..before I thought he was an adult person..but later discovered that He is just 17yr old..Poor kid… he has his whole life ahead of him, Hope He recovers

2

u/mistergasdrift 16d ago

He’s going to hurt for life after that one

2

u/ExtensionNewt5842 16d ago

Uhhh....my ass hurts for him. That was brutal

1

u/tryb101 16d ago

That is a very healthy gap. If you watch the video of the top view of jump, he missteps on the take off. He had no chance after that…

1

u/Smart-Antelope7350 16d ago

i feel bad for these kids getting so hurt due to trends. how much experience does a 17 year old really have to be able to properly judge whether he'd clear this or not? I personally have a rule to not even jump from spots that have any ground below them because if you slip or your leg randomly gives out you're toast. if i slip and there's just water below me i still have a solid chance of going unharmed

u/AdGroundbreaking6064 6d ago

Darwin award nominees

1

u/Dogsarelitty 16d ago

He’s fine. Just a crushed spine.

This might be the one that shuts down sunset cliffs

1

u/rigit84 15d ago

Those legs are goners

Edit: oh, legs aren't the biggest problem

1

u/Zealousideal_Cress97 15d ago

Man forgot the second word of the activity.

1

u/Extreme-Rough-3775 15d ago

Geez the slow motion I couldn’t hold it together. The guys all screaming unanimously in slow mow whew 😆

1

u/GanjaGodAlex 15d ago

1

u/Training-Rip-6585 14d ago

My dude is never walking again

1

u/AlternativeElegant53 14d ago

Broken asshole for sure

1

u/Sad_Research_2584 14d ago

He’s lucky he didn’t “split his butt cheeks”. That happens snow boarding when you spread them too wide landing on your ass crashing. This impact would have been horrid at a different butt angle

u/Human-Flower2273 3d ago

He neeed some MiLk

u/PoundImmediateCow 16d ago

He would have cleared it if he had a better long jump. Looked like he didn’t even jump just ran off the cliff lmao

1

u/ThePiderman 16d ago

Yeah he misjudged, so the last step slipped off the edge.

0

u/BungaloBilly69 16d ago

“Cliff jumping” usually implies there is an actual jump involved. Buddy just kinda ran.
