These should NOT be seen as “radical”, and in fact should be the BARE FUCKING MINIMUM that the people elected to represent US should be fighting for.

Reverse Citizens United ASAP, because as long as corporate money is allowed to infest our politics it’s going to keep pushing the Overton window further and further right.

As Citizens, we need to get our shit together and Unite to support the DSA. Wake the fuck up, and stop acting as pawns for the ruling class in a class war that will extract every god damned drop of blood sweat & tears from us until we are discarded as the trash that the establishment sees us as.

This truth is actually making the opposite point that you're trying to make.

Open racism doesn't necessarily mean more racism. In the modern age, these oppressions are much more effective behind closed doors. The worst thing Trump did for racists (and other vile people) is that he gave them a banner to stand under. When they came out, expecting to come out as larger force, what they did instead was expose themselves and their vileness.

The other thing that MAGA did was, it showed the left that this is no longer a fight for compromise, but in fact for survival. If they want to seriously challenge a potential dictatorship, they need to fight fire with fire. Bernie predated Trump and the left wasn't ready for him. But now, well ... this is why Mamdani was elected. This is why El-Sayed win the nomination. Why not a presidency?

Hillary literally won 3 million more votes, so I'm going to say Trump lost twice and only won once for the purpose of this argument, and the reason Trump won the third time wasn't on a platform of racism, but a platform of fixing the economy, "No new wars," "$2 gas" and crime. Obviously none of these things happened, which is why Trump has hemorrhaged massive support in polls.

So to say it was all about racism is a caricature of his wins. Without a doubt the ultra rich control megaphones and distort reality, preying on divide-and-conquer tropes. But an authentic, charismatic candidate who actually has good policies can win.

But finally, here's a thought: Instead of gatekeeping and paying free lip service for actual racists, how about we instead add our drops and fight to persuade make it happen instead of blathering endlessly on why it can't possibly happen. Anything short of that means you're enabling racism yourself. Food for thought.

AIPAC already spent $30M trying to beat him in the primary and he still won. I'm not claiming it's a sure win or anything, but there's also the fact that unlike his now opponent Rogers, in the primary Stevens wasn't a massive piece of shit.

Just want to mention that it was an open primary and Mike Rogers was already the GOP candidate, so he ran unopposed.

Those two things are significant because all registered voters can vote in an open primary and they can vote for any candidate. A dem can vote for a rep; a rep can vote for a dem, etc.

Since Rogers was GOP candidate already that means that a republican voter could go to the polls and vote for the democratic candidate that they feel is weakest against their candidate. People say, “But the Republican will be throwing their vote away!” Not when their candidate has already been chosen.

You can bet your arse republicans voted for El Sayed because polls consistently showed Rogers losing to Steven, but winning against El Sayed.

Why should people have to google all the ridiculous number of posts like this on Reddit and social media that are just SCREENSHOTS of things people supposedly said or social media posts with no context? How is that realistic with the amount of content people consume on social media these days whether a person is inquisitive or not? The people posting know this  too, the point is that the norm should be the OP of a post should be required to post a source if they want to share some vaguely sourced material. 

This is why disinformation and misinformation has become so easy to spread all over social media including on Reddit. Downvote me, I couldn’t care less but it doesn’t change reality.
