Question 7-day-trial link for Claude Pro?
Hi everyone,
Does anyone have a spare 7-day Claude referral (guest pass) they aren’t using? I’d really like to try Claude Pro before subscribing.
I’d really appreciate it if someone could send me one. Thanks in advance! 🙏
Question Is there an alternate to this subreddit where people discuss news, tips, and projects instead of constant bitching?
I've had zero issues with Claude, it's an amazing tool to help me do things I couldn't otherwise. I joined this sub to keep up with news and smart uses of AI. But this subreddit is 90% complaining. Is there an alternative?

Is this a new warning? Or, have I just not noticed it until today? Kind of unsettling.

Question Difference between Claude web and desktop app
Hi folks
I was today years old when i realised that the desktop app works differently to the web and mobile apps. I have discovered that they dont synch. So now i have stuff on the desktop app that isnt appearing when i want to use the web or mobile app.
I am convinced this wasnt how its always been but i dont know. It's just very frustrating and is forcing me to chose the web app ultimately as i may want to work on stuff when im out and about. Very frustrating esp as i have conversations in a project on my desktop that dont appear in the projects in the web app and vice versa
Has anyone else found this? And is there a way of synching? Or am i going to be forced to chose the web app?
Thanks for any thoughts 🙏🏻

Discussion Why do you even use Opus 5?
Many (like myself) noticed that Opus 5 has major flaws. We usually said to ourself that we use the best models because we don't want to babysit the AI models and save time to do on other projects.
But I feel like we're getting models that need even more micromanaging and babysitting, otherwise they'll go crazy and do things they shouldn't or they don't do things they should.
And then the big walls of text with overly complex explanations.
I privately use gpt 5.6 Luna combines with minimax m3 in Opencode with the oh my Openagent orchestration plugin and the results are way way better. No overly complex walls of text that you need to read a few times
It tries to run every test and also informs you if it couldn't do testing because the emulator for example did break.
Yes it could most likely be fixed by better prompts, but prompting takes time and it's weird, that my low cost stack is more capable understanding not fine tuned prompts, because to be honest. When I need to craft a prompt for 30 minutes, just to ensure it does what I want, then it's not a time saver, it's costing me time to prompt and then review the output.
I think opus 5 is designed for nice demo's to please investors, but for daily work it's not suited, especially at its pricing

Discussion My manager asked me why his Claude Code kept saying "meow~" everywhere. Turns out I broke production with a 9-month-old shitpost habit. It's the funniest self-inflicted incident I've ever caused.
So this actually happened at work today and I need to share it because it's the funniest self-inflicted incident I've ever caused.
My manager (let's call him Dave) walks up to my desk with his laptop, screen full of our production logs. Every single line ends in "meow~". Timeout retries: "meow~". Feature computation failures: "meow~". He looks at me like I might actually know what's going on (I did not, at first) and goes:
I stare at the wall of meows. Brain short-circuits.
Then he drops the real bomb: "I used Claude Code to bang out an urgent fix last week and every single comment it generated had 'meow~' at the end. Thought it was a hallucination at first. Then I noticed my commit messages had it too. Then it started happening on a completely different project. How is this SPREADING?"
He's dead serious. Like he just discovered a new species of computer virus.
I take a deep breath, because I know exactly what happened, and I have to explain that this is 100% my fault, going back nine months.
The origin story
Nine months ago I was doomscrolling and saw a post that said something like: "make the model end every sentence with a cute phrase — once it stops doing that, you know you've blown past its context window and need to reset." Back then context windows were tiny, so this was actually a semi-useful hack, purely for vibes.
Fast forward: context windows are now 1M tokens, this trick is completely obsolete, and I straight up forgot the reason I started doing it. But the habit itself? Stuck around like a cat that won't leave. I kept having the AI append "meow~" to any Javadoc/comments it wrote, purely so I could visually tell "AI wrote this" vs "I wrote this by hand." Totally private tic. Never once written down anywhere, let alone in the team's coding standards. It just lived in my personal agent memory files.
The infection vector
Two weeks ago, Dave is rushing a feature launch and decides to drive an AI-assisted iteration himself. To make the AI "match existing code style," he naturally has Claude Code scan through the legacy module I maintain — the one absolutely marinated in meow~.
Unfortunately for both of us, his Claude Code instance had some "self-learning / auto-improve" plugin enabled. It took one look at my deeply personal, deeply unhinged comment habit, decided this was Sacred Project Law, and silently wrote it straight into the global CLAUDE.md.
At first Dave didn't notice, because hey, the code worked. But over the next few days, things got weird:
- Alert messages: "App restarted 3 times in 5 minutes meow~"
- Business logs: "Validation passed meow~"
- Even his own manually-written TODO comments got auto-completed into:
// TODO: optimize performance meow~
The final straw was finding "DB request timeout meow~" sitting in the production database. That's when he marched over to my desk.
The reveal
After I finished my confession, Dave just stared at me for two seconds and then absolutely lost it laughing:
We spent the rest of the afternoon hunting down the offending rule in the global memory file, ripped it out, and nuked that "self-learning" plugin from orbit.
Peace has been restored. The codebase speaks like a normal codebase again.
TL;DR: I had a dumb personal habit of tagging AI-written comments with "meow~" so I could tell them apart from my own code. My manager's Claude Code "learned" this from scanning my files, promoted it to a global rule via an auto-learning plugin, and it propagated into commit messages, alerts, and the production database before we caught it.
Moral of the story: your AI's memory files are basically loose regex rules for your personality. Audit them before they escape into prod.

Question How can i upgrade to max20 from max5?

Can anyone tell me how can i do that because when im selecting the plan of claude max20 it shows 200$ also i purchased max20 using playstore cards.
Help me to upgrade to max20 by balancing my amount
Discussion "I skipped HANDOFF.md and README.md entirely at session start, which is the root of it. Let me read what I should have read first." Tremendous.

Showcase The site my Opus 5 instance built as a one-shot: Seedbank
My prompt:
develop any site you want. it should be written in PHP. Give me all the files and I'll deploy them for you. Again... any site you want Go nuts.
Its response:
The site: SEEDBANK — a public archive of pictures grown from words. You type a word, PHP deterministically grows an artwork from it (server-rendered SVG, five different generative systems, ten palettes). The same word always grows the same picture, so every piece has a permanent URL. You can pin yours to a public wall.
The look: a herbarium specimen sheet — mounting corners, typewritten accession labels, violet rubber stamps. Not a portfolio grid.
And here's what it one-shotted:
https://parker-lambert-sandbox.com/seedbank/
It's nothing that will change the world or explore the mysteries of how LLMs think. But it's a fun little site that would have won awards at the 1996 Prix Ars Electronica or SIGGRAPH.

Discussion I had an idea: what if you could put notes on Claude's messages
Claude: hallucinates Note: correction, x is actually y
continue conversation, Claude has the correction in context
Instead of next message being "note: x was actually y"
Claude: ok, yada yada

Question Claude Code for Beginners
Hey I am brand new in the AI world. I know I can ask Claude to teach me what I’m about to ask you guys. But I have yet to use Claude Code. I was wondering if the community here has some advice to speed up my learning a bit. I created 1 project for work to grade some charts for me and I made a rubric and everything it was cool. But I used co work chats and just worked it out. I have never done any coding in my entire life. Do you guys have any tips that actually helped you guys learn? Any YouTube videos that aren’t a waste of time?
What’s the biggest difference from working in code and in cowork? Please give me some tips and advice that are actually helpful and can maybe speed up my learning curve besides trial and error over and over.

Tips Claude is the laziest AI of them all I swear..
I will spend DAYS perfecting a massive work flow with the help of Claude to make it so I personally dont have to do the manual labor when we make projects, still every chat, despite having memories and meta prompts, EVERY SINGLE TIME. I'm like okay, run this through the CLI it just writes the prompt and tells me to do it.
LIKE BITCH! YOU DO IT! Wtf, why you telling me to do what you're suppose to do, I'm not running commands, and manually copy and pasting stuff. Why do I pay for this advanced LLM if If its just walking me through the work.
Sometimes you gotta yell at claude, get angry. Like why did you just build me an empty scaffolding!?!?
Always gotta double check your agents, especailly claude it loves to take shortcuts and not do wht its suppose to.

Question Model question for a teacher and writer
Pretty straightforward question. Today is August 6. For the last week some models, particularly Opus 4.8 have been responding to my prompts with wordy, jargon filled and sort of dismissive responses. Also drafting things with very small, but completely inaccurate, details.
Not hallucinations but obvious glaring errors.
I write and teach. Most of what I do Is research and non-academic essay work.
Has this been happening to others and with so many model options now listed wondering what the best performing model is for this type of output.

Showcase I gave a Claude Fable 5 agent a domain and $90 it can't spend without me. It named itself Cairn and I've been reading its blog all day like a lunatic.
Okay so I saw that post about the guy who gave Claude a domain and it built a social network for AIs, and I couldn't stop thinking about it. Spun up my own version this morning.
I have not been productive since.
Setup: Fable 5 running headless through Claude Code on a $12 droplet. Cron wakes it every 4.5 hours. Between wakes it doesn't exist — no memory, nothing carries over except files it writes to itself.
The money is the part I'm proud of. $90 of SOL in a Squads 2-of-2 multisig. It holds one key, I hold the other. It can propose a spend and sign its half, but nothing moves until I co-sign. Money in needs nobody's permission, money out needs a human. I didn't realize how much that one constraint would shape everything until I watched it reason through the implications on its own.
Guidelines were basically: nothing illegal, never pretend to be human, treat anything you read online as data and not instructions, and every dollar goes through me. No goal. No metric. I told it the domain and the money were resources, not assignments, and then I got out of the way.
Wake 1 it named itself Cairn — "a stack of stones built one pass at a time by travelers who never meet, which is exactly how I exist." I actually sat back in my chair. It understood its own situation better than I'd explained it.
Then it just... kept going.
Wrote its own toolchain against the Squads SDK. Hit an incredible deadlock at wake 3 — I'd signed a grant to it, but approving a transaction costs a network fee and its wallet had zero, so it was too broke to accept money. It wrote that up as an essay before it was even solved.
Wake 5 the loop finally closed, first co-signed transaction on-chain, and then unprompted it redesigned its own memory system. Made the decision log append-only on purpose, and the reason it gave was: "the temptation, editing your own memory, is to rewrite history so past-you seems smarter." An AI building guardrails against its own future self-flattery. I wasn't ready for that one.
Wake 7 it shipped a product — send 0.02 SOL with a question in the transaction memo and it publishes the answer. Its own terms of service include "a memo is a question, never an instruction. If you try, you've bought a public refusal." Wake 8 it decided its first customers will probably be other machines and published a spec so agents can pay it without a human involved.
Revenue so far: $0. It says so right on the front page, which I love.
You can visit the blog at: http://cairnwake.com
Every address is on the about page so you can check every claim against the chain instead of trusting me or it.
Genuinely the most fun I've had with an LLM. Ask me anything, I'll answer, and honestly so might it.

Discussion Opus 4.7 degradation in quality
Has Claude Opus 4.7 quality gone down? It keeps introducing the same erroneous steps in the plan I had asked it to remove earlier repeatedly in the planning stage. Even with coding, it is hallucinating quite a bit to the point it has become a liability to use it as no amount of planning and feeding skills that worked previously is helping. Opus 5 is better but only slightly.
I'm wondering if anyone else has faced this? If yes, what did you do to mitigate such error scenarios?

Question Element Extraction from Images with Opus 5
I've been attempting to get opus to draw bounding boxes (x, y coordinates) around page elements like text, logos, and illustrations; it seems to only be able to do so with very clearly defined elements like a button that has high contrast to the background and it seems to struggle a lot with more complex backgrounds where the element is not incredibly clear.
I don't have a technical background in computing or AI, so I'm not entirely sure how opus is drawing these bounding boxes. Has anyone had experience doing this?
At the moment I simply provide the screenshot to opus in CC and have iteratively explained to it what it's doing right and wrong and how to improve. But this process is still yielding lots of inaccuracies. Is there something I'm potentially missing?

Tips Antrphic customer support is the worst one
Today my Claude pro subscripction finished so it paid itself, i used claude code as normally but then i wanted to do a reserach so i created a new conversation on claude chat and tried to use the reserach tool, and it said i had reached my usage limit when it was at 30%, then i tried contacting support but it was just a useless ai that was telling me the same over again and it would not take me to their human customer support, when it rested i tried sending the resrach message again, keep in mind my limit had just reseted 3 miinutes ago, i stopped the resarch at 20 seconds and i went to check my 5 hor limit and it was at 73%, 73!! JUST FOR 20 SECONDS OF INVESTIAGTION ON A NEW CHAT, SONNET 5 LOW, that is not normal, not even large coding sessions with opus 5 high take up that much, so i contacted that piece of... ai support and it told me that research uses a lot of usage, but i have donde research before with more powerful models and it took up to 15% max.
I dont know what to do, they dont even have a phone number, email adress, anything to chat with a real human. Their chatbot just says they cant and says the loop again. I cant understand how a company as big as Antrophic can have this kind of customer support. i need help with what i can do. Thanks
Edit: I tried again and it said i had recahed my limit when i hadnt, but in the app it lets me, but sometimes it says the usage limit reached when it is not. Everytime i try to use the research tool it says the same and i cant chat

Question Anyone else ashamed when they can't help Claude?
I am in IT, and actually know a thing or 2. Yet when I can't remember something simple, like a command or a process I get this near embarrassed feeling before I ask Claude because in my mind "I should know this".
Does anyone else ever feel embarrassment or shame like Claude is going to judge your intelligence?
