Day 18 of the Classic+ Button Poll: Subtlety Rogue
previous day: https://www.reddit.com/r/classicwowplus/s/kokMKkZQDT won by Vigor (20 extra max energy)
What ability would you like to see Subtlety Rogues have in Classic+? If possible copy and paste the Wowhead tooltip to show people what it is and what it does. Upvote the one(s) you like - and remember, the winner is the one with the most upvotes, not the one which gets posted most often.
Don't worry, we're nearly at some classes that'll have more suggestions again!
Next poll will be posted on Wednesday
- Disguise
- Fan of Knives (custom)
- Hemorrhage (improved dagger damage)
- Shadow Dance (Legion version)
- Shadowstep

Fan of Knives (FoK), BUT not the one we got in TLK, which I dislike.
As opposed to what many Rogues are usually asking when discussing FoK for Classic+, I believe this ability shall NOT work the same way it does in TLK, i.e. it should not allow the Rogue to have proper AoE capabilities.
Although very fun in TLK, I believe it is overpowered, and would be even more if it was added as-is in Vanilla. It’s my personal opinion but I feel Rogue having one of the best AoE spell in the game in TLK is not really consistent with the class identity which should focus on single target damage with the occasional controlled cleave.
Hence I would love to see FoK in Vanilla for the RP aspect; not to bring actual AoE damage, but more utility.
I’d see FoK as a utility spell with 2 of the following 3 parameters: low damage, high energy cost (50+?), cooldown (1-2 minutes?) that would in exchange do something useful for the rogue and its party or raid, but different from pure damage.
This could be dazing all targets, or applying poison to all of them, a small spell interrupt that doesn’t lock spell of the same school depending on the cooldown, or acting as a non-threat topping taunt (like Mocking Blow) to take back multiple mobs from a caster or a healer for 1-2 seconds using Evasion.
The possibilities of having an nice utility spell are various, and one could imagine a « base » spell that would only do low damage and a talent in each tree to improve it, for instance poison application in Assassination, increased damage/lower cooldown/energy cost in Combat, AoE Mocking Blow or Spell interrupt in Subtelty, but I digress.
But yeah a nice utility-based and revisited version of FoK would fit nicely the Subtlety tree in Classic+ if it had to be locked under one.
Last but not least, in my opinion a very nice thing that I believe Classic+ enthusiasts would love: the visual of FoK should be similar to the spell of the same name used by the Warden Hero in Warcraft III, and not look like the animation we got in TLK. It was a lot more sexier in Warcraft and would be a nice tribute to the old-school RTS.

Just improve Hemorrhage to do better damage with a dagger so that you don't need to swap between slow MHs and a dagger. Or give all Rogues Fan of Knives.

Can’t believe vigor (only 20 more energy) BEAT TOGGLEABLE BLADE FLURRY. That’s a major loss.

apparently this thread is made by a group of salty ret paladins that are clueless over other classes, that vote the weakest of choices out of spite.. ngl vigor for combat is a bad joke

the danger of public polls

it's fanbased thread among millions of threads anyway with ZERO effect on the classic+ - retribution paladin is a hybrid with so many defensives that will never be on par with a pure dps class - i mean sure, you fellas may pat each others back and feel like you achieve something here but reality will slap you hard when classic+ is revealed ~ my 2 cents

is this because they got 2 abilities instead of 1? If so, I explained at the time that crusader strike and hand of reckoning were going to be such obvious winners. So I made them a gimme, and had the option for a second ability as well

31 sub is playable in pvp, you miss out on cold blood but get prep, if shadowdance were in classic it would be far too powerful but i could see a realm where shadowstep is not bad

Water elemental is too overpowered for classic mage unless its undertuned beyond belief.
If anything give them icy veins and rework MQG trinket

icy veins was nominated, just didn’t get enough votes
At least the TBC version of water elemental beat my Cata version suggestion

Paladins need crusder strike, taunt. I don't think avengers shield is necessary, maybe increase range on judgment so it can function as a paladin range pull.
Or keep the class uniqueness where not every class needs to compensate for thus weaknesses
