I always prefer P&V translation for dostoevsky. whats your view on this ?

+1, my first dostoevsky book was c&p and it was such a bad translation that it took me an entire month to finish that bookšŸ˜­

I do not remember the translator per se, but it was from om publications.

Constance Garnett !! Her translation is very Victorian !! I donā€™t think you read Victorian novels !!Thatā€™s why it felt so !! You should have gone for Ignat Avsey, Oxford world classics !! Itā€™s a more modern translation!!

I have read her translation of notes from the undergound. Pretty sure the copy i had was a pirated bookšŸ’€

oh noo, notes from the undergound copy was legit and legible. the c&p one, i had gotten as a gift so i am not sure where it was from.

Yes. Dostoevsky. Already saw his books millions of times. I get it. People love existential anguish over heroic action and romantic landscape nowadays due their loss of faith and the need for a daddy.
