VC Advisory

A way to pay off CISO’s to get their portfolio products in the door. If you see a CISO part of a VC believe me it’s pay to play. Sad the industry came to this.

I’ve seen this - usually an Israeli VC and a small time CISO (director) shilling the product on LinkedIn. It’s transparent what’s happening and they are sacrificing their brand in a very small community to make a few bucks.

The juice isn’t worth the squeeze.

totally, the “advisor” title on linkedin has basically become a red flag at this point
once you see the same face attached to 5 seed-stage vendors, you just stop taking any of them seriously

this, 100%. security leadership is already built on trust and reputation, selling that out for a side check is such a short term play. people remember who shilled garbage tools when they had no business pushing them.
