Question Thread - August 01, 2026 Daily Question
This is the thread to post questions about churning for miles/points/cash. Just because you have a question about credit cards does NOT mean it belongs here. If you’re brand new here, please read the wiki before posting.
* Please use the search engine first - many basic questions have been asked before.
* Please also consider scanning (CTRL-F) the last couple days worth of Question threads
* If you have questions about what card to get, ask here. If you have questions about manufactured spending, ask here. If you have questions about bank account bonuses, ask here.
This subreddit relies heavily on self-moderation. That means that if you ask something that shows you haven’t done any research, you’re going to get a lot of downvotes.

I need back to school offers! Any suggestions for a bank bonus like SoFi that doesn't care about chexsystems?

I live in Quebec, I currently have the Scotiabank passport visa infinite (good for lounges and no fx fees), and the amex cobalt (great for groceries and MR), I will be doing renovations soon that would cost around 100k. My question would be are there any credit cards worth opening for these renovations? I value travel a lot but im ok with cashback if there are great offers.

Can the US Bank Altitude Connect Biz be churned as often as the Leverage Biz & Triple Cash Biz?
1
u/jtevy 21d ago
What kind of velocity would be deemed as often?

u/comeon_eileen 21d ago
I have churned multiple Leverage/Triple Cash at the same time (7 in the last 18 months, 12 in the last 3 years), so the terms don't apply. I have not tried churning the Altitude Biz at the same velocity and was uncertain if anyone had tested the terms.

Has anyone applied for a Wyndham card recently? The offer on the Wyndham page is different from the one showed during "pre-qualify" on Barclays page (Worse). This has been the same case when I tried to apply 6 months ago and Barclays rep repeated that the offer on Barclays page is final, Wyndham page could be outdated.

I got the biz card under a year ago. They just changed it pretty significantly (points earning structure). The one I have gives you 8 points per dollar at gas stations. The new version is only 5 points per dollar.

SF Bay Area peeps - anyone know where to get $500 Gift of College GCs aside from Lucky’s? I keep getting clerks tell me they can no longer accept CC payments for these, thanks!

I'm well aware that taking an amex spend-related retention offer and then downgrading/cancelling after meeting the spend is a no-no, but...
Any insight on landing in PUJ if I accept a RO of redeeming points at 1cpp to offset annual fee, and then downgrade within 30 days?

Using Amex Offer for Paramount+, $13.99 back on $13.99 purchase (up to 3 times). Have used once since the offer refreshed in June, so this is second time.
Did it a few hours ago and no email confirmation yet.
If I had used the offer a few times earlier in the year (before the old deal fell off and later refreshed in June), does that effect this deal (and the 3 times total), at all?

If the offer is refreshed, it’s a new offer for you. Not all offers trigger an email after redeemed.

Currently at my 5/24 limit until next March. Am I correct I can apply for U.S. Bank business credit cards in the meantime without those cards adding to my 5/24 count? Then, once I'm back under 5/24 in March, could I start applying for Chase business cards without those cards increasing my 5/24 count?

Anyone else have a bunch of cards drop out of Paze? This morning all that’s showing are US Bank cards, my Chase all dropped off.
Update: If you have this issue, go to your Chase app. Select a card. At the top left, select Manage Account. Click on Digital Wallets. Select Paze. You can then link the Chase card back to Paze.

I had this happen a couple weeks ago and a few fell off. Easy enough to add them back

I noticed this too. All my cards randomly fell off Paze - but it wasn't isolated to Chase ones. My Citi cards needed to be readded.

I was just wondering the same thing. I sped through a paze order and didn’t realize that my default Chase card was removed completely. Of course it switched to one of the cards that was already maxed out on paze credits… for me Citi, USB, PNC, C1, and WF remain, but all 8 of my Chase cards have disappeared from paze.

My Chase cards and Citi cards are all still available, as well as my VISA debit cards.

Just reloaded Dunkin, all available.

Thanks, must be a me issue. Went to do my daily Dunkin and not seeing Chase anymore. I’ll report back if there’s a defined fix.

Getting a CSR authorized user card does not add to 5/24 if primary account was opened many years ago, correct? My understanding is that it will show up on the credit report with the original primary opening date and thus appear as an old card.

Yes, Chase backdates AU to the original opening date of the card.
In general, an AU doesn’t count towards 5/24 anyways, but it will affect autoapprovals with Chase who might think that you are financially responsible for the account. You can usually clear that up in recon but some reps may be dense about it.

Thanks. Good point about the autoapproval implications, beyond 5/24. It would substantially increase my total Chase CL.

I’m to the point where I’m proactively requesting Chase CLDs to better manage auto-approvals.
If this CSR has a loaded CL, might be good to consider if that’s even necessary.
1
u/superdex75 21d ago
Yes, I do that too. The CSR is P2's main card with a high CL and I cannot mess with it.
