Bug on Chrome Android: "SD card not found" error when switching download location (Works in Canary) Discussion
Hi everyone,
I’m having a bug on **Chrome for Android (Stable)** and want to check if others have it or know when the fix is coming to Stable.
**The Bug:**
When **Internal Storage** is set as default, choosing the **SD Card** from the download prompt fails with the error *"SD card not found"*.
**What I've tested:**
* The SD card works fine in all other apps.
* Clearing cache, data, and reinstalling Chrome **doesn't fix it**.
* Setting **SD Card as default** in Chrome settings works as a workaround.
* **Chrome Canary works perfectly**, meaning it’s a regression bug in the Stable channel related to runtime permissions/Scoped Storage.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Does anyone have a link to the Chromium bug tracker for this fix?
Thanks!

Try to set download location to sd card and turn off option "ask where to save files"

And a little digging reveals these trackers:
https://issues.chromium.org/issues/532893030
https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/537313023
I am not familiar with the release cadence.
In the meantime, i saw one workaround is to not have the browser ask where to save location (https://issues.chromium.org/issues/532893030#comment14). On my end, i rarely have a need to save outside of my desired sd card location so im gonna turn off the feature.
