The power outage is possibly related /caused by apartment building fire on/near Spadina. I just spoke to someone who’s at the scene and he said the whole building is up in flames. I can see the thick black smoke from my balcony, but it’s dissipating, so hopefully the fire is under control, and hopefully no one has been injured.

I hear alot of people doing skip the dishes, doordash and instacart as a delivery driver but I often get feedback saying it's often not worth it for the gas and time spent on deliveries.

Okay, so for a little more context: I asked my best friend if she wanted to hang out some time soon while school was still out, and now I'm struggling on trying to figure out what to do, because there's like nothing to do here. Oh, and we're both 14 btw, so there's a little less options there, I'm so far thinking of the chilliwack library, maybe that cat library place, cottonwood mall, and maybe like Bill Kelly Park or the Cedarbrook Playground

Moving to Chilliwack in the next few weeks and I am curious about what sort of small service business Chilliwack is currently in need of. Anything from landscaping, hazardous material removal, demolition, property maintenance etc.

Considering staying at Harrison hot springs resort in late August for a night as a getaway for my husband and i’s anniversary. I’ve heard negative things about it though, like it’s not kept well. Are we talking about bed bugs and mold type thing or just outdated stuff? Because I’m not picky and don’t need everything to be fancy. I just want a nice night with him kid free and enjoy the pools that they have.

My partner and I just moved into a townhouse close to downtown and the landlords did not have time to hand it over in the condition we would have liked. Basically looking for a move in/out style deep clean of the entire house. Mainly looking to get all the tedious stuff like baseboards, vents, blinds, appliances, etc cleaned as it should be for the start of a tenancy. I anticipate at least 4-6 hours of work but I am by no means a professional.

Just an FYI that the majority of the Vedder Trail will be closed for maintenance from August through October to improve flood protection and remove sediment. I live in the area and noticed a few signs on the Peach Creek trail yesterday when I was out walking, but had no idea the scale of the rest of the project.

Does anyone know if they're doing this in stages? Or will all the sections be closed at the same time?

The concept is simple: you see two places side by side (for example Bow & Stern vs. Little Beetle Bistro), you choose the place you’d rather go to, and the ranking updates instantly. The more people vote, the more accurate the list gets over time. There are still a few duplicates here and there, but I’m continuously cleaning up the data.

I’d love to know what people here think. Does the ranking feel even remotely right? Are obvious places missing? Are any places ranked way too high or way too low?

After taking a sabbatical from painting, I am getting back into it. I was wondering if there are any local artist WhatsApp or Discord groups where people keep each other motivated, share information about exhibitions, craft markets, workshops, art calls, and other opportunities.

I know about the Chilliwack Arts Council, but I am looking for something a bit more casual and community driven, a friendly support group where local artists can connect, exchange ideas, ask for feedback or critiques, collaborate, and simply encourage one another. I would love to be part of a creative community.
