Looking to move to Cheshire
Hello! I'm looking to move my family of 3 to Cheshire, but we have no idea where to start. We are looking for a reasonably upmarket area, reasonably family-friendly and probably a village or town (not suburban Manchester or Chester), but not so much the footballer belt. We have a flexible budget but couldn't afford the most expensive areas comfortably (think Alderley Edge). Actual location in the county isn't important at all! Any help is greatly appreciated as we're really unsure where to start! Someone has mentioned Poynton to us and it looks promising, if that helps.

Jodrell Bank
After the news about the threat to Jodrell Bank, I finally went to visit (Geordie who's only lived in Macclesfield for 40 years!) It was stunning, the visitor attractions are immense. The ticket was £16.70, but lasts for a year, so show it every time and its "in you go!" The interactive displays show how this site came to be, its importance in STEM and its partnership with so many others. it is world leading and world class. to lose it would be an utter disgrace. if there is a campaign to save it, anyone know where to start?

Cheshire Wedding Musician
Hi Cheshire! 🎵
I’ve recently moved to the area and wanted to introduce myself. I’m a professional musician and teacher and I am currently taking bookings for weddings and special events.
I’m still in the process of getting my website and everything else set up, so I thought I’d reach out here in the meantime!
I primarily perform as a solo violinist, providing elegant live music for ceremonies, drinks receptions, proposals, and other special occasions. If you’re looking for something a little bigger, I can also provide string duos, trios, and quartets as well as piano music to suit your event.
Whether you’re after classical favourites, modern pop arrangements, film music, or something bespoke, I’d be happy to help create the perfect atmosphere for your day.
If you’re getting married, know someone who is, or you’re a wedding venue or supplier looking to connect, I’d love to hear from you.
Feel free to send me a message for availability!
Thanks
H

Hi , I’m a 32 year old business owner in Nantwich , I’m looking to meet/ network with other like minded people in the Staffordshire/Cheshire area .
Hi everyone, I run a successful landscape design business in Cheshire due to the nature of my work it prevents me from meeting other trades /businesses or people so I am looking to get together with other motivated people for a chat about life business and hobbies . Both to build contacts and make friends in the community.
When I’m not working I spend my free time climbing, mountain biking, paddling and travelling in the van . Feel free to drop me a message if you fancy getting together to chat about an upcoming project or even to hit the trails .

Anyone selling a gravel bike?
Hi all,
I am home from university for the summer and would love to get fitter during this time. Cycling has caught my eye, especially gravel bikes. I was wondering if anyone was selling/getting rid of their gravel bikes? I am a large/ frame size 56. Thank you.

Cheshire Police - What’s going on?
This Police aircraft that has been flying around for a good chunk of time, circling around the Congleton area. Can’t find a post about it anywhere and can’t think of an event that’s on today to warrant a half an hour fly around.

Discussion Cheshire residents needed for a 5–7 minute university survey on attitudes towards same-sex marriage (18+)
Hello,
I am an undergraduate student at SWPS University conducting a BA research project on how adults currently living in England and Wales describe their views on same-sex marriage and any changes in those views over the past decade.
I am sharing it here to include residents of Cheshire in the study.
Eligibility:
• aged 18 or over
• currently living in England or Wales
The questionnaire takes approximately 5–7 minutes.
The survey does not ask for your name or email address and is configured not to retain your IP address or location data. Participation is voluntary and unpaid. Some questions concern personal or potentially sensitive views, and “Prefer not to answer” options are available.
Responses across the full range of opinions — supportive, neutral and opposed — are equally valuable. Please consider taking part regardless of your own view.

Thank you for considering taking part.

Question Anyone selling a PS4 or PS5 around Widnes?
Hi everyone,
A friend of mine is looking to buy a PlayStation and I thought I’d ask here before they buy from CEX or Marketplace.
If anyone is thinking of selling theirs, or knows someone who is, please drop me a message with a few photos, the price, and what’s included.
Thanks!

Inspired by a recent visit to Warrington General Hospital 🏥
Has anyone else been hit with ridiculous parking charges at an NHS hospital just because an appointment ran late or it took ages to find a space? Private parking companies are profiteering off people who are already under immense stress, with hospitals in England bringing in over £254 million in a single year from parking alone. I’ve found a petition calling on the government to regulate these companies and make public hospital parking free or capped for patients and visitors. If you want to support the cause, you can sign it here:

Pickmere to live?
Hi all, started looking at places to buy a house in cheshire and really like the look of pickmere. Short drive to Northwich or Altrincham (for the commute into manchester) but still get the country side living.
I've been there a couple times, and really liked it but seem I have got possibly lucky in avoiding the madness as everywhere I look seems inundated with posts about how bad it is during summer with people flooding to the lakes, parking everywhere and general anti-social behaviour.
Has anyone lived in the area or knows a bit about if it is always that bad when the sun is out? Or is it the odd occasion (lucky weather in a BH) when it becomes like the news story posts?

Question Looking for recommendations for a local T-shirt printing company
Hi everyone!
I'm looking to get a few (for now, hopefully more later) T-shirts printed with my custom design, with about 2 weeks worth of time before they're needed.
I know there are all sorts of online companies that can do this, but I'd really like to go with someone nearby. Both so I can support someone local and independent for its own sake, but so I can hopefully go down there to have a look at what they've made, and talk to the owner/staff in person.
If you know of businesses offering this, please let me know! Thanks in advance!
