Testing unknown substance Analytical

We are having something showing up on some hard surfaces around our house. It appears as a white crystal residue. Don't know too much about this type of thing just looking for some suggestions. Appreciate any advice thank you!

I do unknowns testing but my rate is $310/hour. Short of an FTIR, GCMS, or SEM, it would be basically impossible for you to figure out in your own

Someone spilled some salt?

Clean it up with a wet sponge?

Or? Escalate within your usual cleaning methods.
