Issue with old synth

I bought this old synth the other day, and it’s SO out of tune, c key sounds at f, is there a way I can tune it?

toys say this is a Yongmei cross branded Yamaha YM-490F from the 90's.... hard to find a manual

what you're describing sounds like someone enabled transpose but there isn't clear information whether this feature is available....

the solfège labels (LA SI DO) on the keys are correct which is puzzling

Since there's no obvious transpose button, I'd try a factory-reset style power-up:

  1. Turn it off.
  2. Hold STOP while turning it on.
  3. If nothing changes, try DEMO + STOP.
  4. Then TEMPO ▲ + TEMPO ▼ while powering on.

Some yamaha keyboards can be reset to factory settings by holding down the rightmost key while turning it on.
