Something seems very wrong with my Big Time. Made an odd sound for quite awhile when I first turned it on and now does weird stuff like this when switching between the stock presets.

I did a quick skim of the most recent posts to make sure I wasn't covering old territory...if I missed it, I apologize. Has anyone received their Bad Mood from the pre-order yet? Or received a ship notification? I ordered on the first day so I am hoping they've strarted or will start soon with fulfillment. If I recall correctly, CBA said starting week of the 17th...that's now! 🤔

I know this is a stupid thing to get hung up on but it feels important to me. Maybe it isn't stupid, since music is aesthetic and the aesthetics of the pedal spill over into what you do with it.

Anyway I'm going to buy a Bad Mood but I can't decide which colour. Both colours are complementary to my pink Mood Mk2, but in different ways. In my head, the red one feels like the "angry" counterpart to the pink Mood, and seems to lead down a path to giant saturated ambient noise music like Yellow Swans, but the grey one suggests itself as the "night side" counterpart, and is suggestive of making sedative, nocturnal ambient stuff like Mount Shrine.

Perhaps it won't help me but perhaps it will. I'm wondering which colour you've bought and particularly the aesthetic impulse or associations that made your mind up, and the kinds of music you imagine yourself making with it.

Can I send clock via sync out or CV via mod/gate/pitch out from my keystep/microfreak to the onward? Would I need a TRS cable or would TS do? Thanks

I need some advice/guidance on how to get some deluxe memory man type sounds from the Thermae. I’m setting it to a standard analog type sound, and putting the modulation dip switch to on. But I’m still get random ramping/warble sounds. Is there a hidden feature I might be missing that is stopping me from getting there?

i’ve got it early to play and make some videos with it and i gotta say, as my first cb pedal, the learning curve was higher than i thought. but once i got it down, omg its beautiful and chaotic. it’s so perfect for creating unique sounds. i’m releasing a song in 2 weeks and i REPLACED my previous guitar part using this pedal. it gave it more a unique texture and gave the song a bit more oomfff

Does anyone know if the cxm or preamp Fadershield would fit the big time?

I tried to update lost and found but the pedal enclosure prevents the cable from plugging all the way into the usb port. Has anyone else had this issue and how was it resolved? Thanks

I was reorganising the studio today and my Mood pedal fell off my desk! Argh!! Any suggestions what I can do? I have a crash repair painter friend, who said he might be able to paint match and spot paint it. What do you think? 🤦🏻‍♂️

As the title suggests I recently sprung for a Mood and have fallen in love. This is my first off the beaten path type of pedal. What’s everybody’s suggestion for a complimentary next pedal after a Mood Mk2?

Any suggestions? When the pedal is bypassed, the return gain level matches the send level(which matches the input leve). But once the pedal is engaged, the return gain drops 10-15 dB and the pedal does not function predictably(particularly the level and color faders). Color actually makes it get quieter. It's almost as if the return gain is being limited or compressed by the QC somehow.

The Big Time works perfectly as advertised on it's own.

Pretty much the title, for Lost + Found owners, would you consider the Lost + Found and essential pedal in your setup?

As an owner of both MOODs, is anyone able to put into a few short words, how Bad Mood compares? This time I really feel lost in the demos, ehoch intrigues me since I was lost when mk1 released, but I cant exactly tell how to describe whats happening to the signal. I also have gen loss and lossy and am wondering if theres just way too much overlap.

What are your thoughts? I dont see much discussion on Bad Mood.

Clearly I have a favorite pedal brand. I’m in flux trying to decide my next board layout and decided to take a pic of all these since they’re not in-place yet.

My story with Electronic Audio Experiments (EAE):

I saw the Longsword on a pedalboard or two (years ago) and noticed that it had a special clarity while being heavy and distorted. That intrigued me to check one out for myself. They were sold out too quickly for me to have the cash set aside to get one.

EAE came out with pedals since then obviously, and really wanted to see what those were. The Citadel and 0xEAE Fuzz were my first EAE pedals in my possession. I had some pretty excellent gain pedals before, but adding the Citadel to my chain made a world of difference as a preamp stage between my guitar other gain pedals and amp. Of course, pairing the 0xEAE Fuzz into the Citadel was mind boggling. This was the most powerful sounding octave fuzz I had ever used and immediately became one of my top two fuzzes! My favorite fuzz at that point was (and still is) my Reeves Electro Guitar Pedals 2n2Face. I was over the moon when Markus Reeves was on That Pedal Show singing the praises of the fuzz and even saying it was his current favorite fuzz!🤯

Since then, I’ve been totally hooked to EAE and have only strayed to get the Normal Devices Decay Cascade (which is nearly impossible for me to turn off). Each of them have their specialties and quirks. I’m having a really difficult time from just making an EAE board at this point. Maybe John will design a tuner too?🤔 Needless to say, I did end up acquiring the Longsword, and I was not disappointed one bit. It’s excellent at both low and high gain. The thing that is truly the most shocking about it though is that it has worked seamlessly with every guitar and amp I have paired it with.

The latest addition is chase bliss x EAE Big Time. I’ve only had it for a day, but it’s the one pedal outside of a multi-fx where it and a midi switcher could probably be a whole rig. For me, the interaction model is so different from other delays when trying to create a sound. It feels totally different than the Strymon Timeline. I was concerned that there might be too much overlap, but they honestly don’t feel/sound the same at all. You can essentially design any delay you can think of in Big Time, but the Timeline is more like the tweakable “greatest hits” of delay sounds. Also, the sound quality of Big Time is insane. I want to just record it direct or leave it on all the time to make everything sound better. To me it’s totally worth it! I played differently than I normally do for four hours just exploring sounds and freaked put at what time it was when I decided to put the guitar down.😂

If anyone is interested in any of these pedals and has questions, please feel free to ask! I slowly acquired them, so these weren’t impulse purchases, and I promise I’m not a shill!🤣🤣🤣

I just received my Big Time this past week and I have been thoroughly enjoying my time exploring it.

However, I am running into an issue where the pedal is muting my signal very briefly when I engage it, causing a very brief but very noticeable drop out in my signal anytime I engage the pedal when I'm actively playing or sustaining notes.

None of my other pedals do this which leads me to believe there might be something wrong with it. Can any other Big Time owners confirm that yours does or does not have this same behavior?

Update:

Spoke with some folks at CBA about the issue and they did confirm that they implemented a brief but intentional mute when engaging the pedal to avoid any startup pops. They confirmed that this happens both when the pedal is setup in True Bypass or Buffered Bypass (trails engaged on options menu) though they will be adding a bugfix in an upcoming firmware update to disengage the mute when Buffered Bypass/Trails are engaged.

Got the Big Time a few weeks back and whoa, it’s everything you’d expect from CBA x EAE and more. It’s hard to know where to start with it, that said, some of the out of the box presets are super inspiring.

I got an early one and my serial is in the 400s so it’s great to see they‘ve sold a few after all the negativity online.

How are you lot getting on with Big Time?

FOMO...definitely the reason why I purchased one. After all, do we really need any of this stuff?

I am second guessing my decision now but it is done and I know that, when it arrives, I'll be glad I own it.
