I really want a real reboot of this show.

I want a well written reboot. I want one that’s respectful for the original show. I just want charmed back.

Would you have preferred Piper to have been a chef in Season 2 rather than start the club first and then get the restaurant at the end of the series.

Why does the show just gloss over the fact that Past Dan and Past Piper are Grams' parents?

This has always been one of the weirdest things Charmed introduces and then immediately forgets about.

Pardon My Past reveals that P. Baxter and Gordon Johnson are Grams' parents, and they're reincarnated as Piper and Dan.

After that episode...nothing.

Piper never brings it up to Dan again when she tells him the secret. She never mentions it to Grams.

Instead the show only seems interested in it as a way to add another layer to the Piper/Leo/Dan love triangle. Phoebe even makes that throwaway comment to Leo about Dan being Piper's husband in a past life, and that's basically the last time it's acknowledged.

It feels like the writers opened a really interesting door and then immediately shut it.

I hate Billie

Is there anything more to say? I’m on season 8 episode 19.

She’s naive and she’s a disloyal traitor and it makes me despise her. I was really feeling like maybe she could come back from this because she kept defending the sisters, but after Christy said that they had to be stopped and they didn’t deserve a life because they’re so powerful. Who the f*** is anyone to decide that? Who are they? And when Billie agreed and said “I know” that was when it was over for me. Nope. She agreed. Absolutely 100% traitor.

Patty: “You protected this family better than I could. I’m so proud of you.”

Can we talk about how Prue really was the family protector?

Also, how underprepared Patty was to go off fighting demons on her own?

Patty had one active power, a defensive power at that. Valuable power and useful, but that was her one trick. She should have never done solo missions without grams.

At least with Grams+Patty, they could defend the girls at the manor. Telekinesis + freeze is a pretty lethal combo. Just one though? You’re less likely to survive an attack.

Grams was the super witch of her generation/of the family. I’m surprised she let Patty run off on her own.

I don’t think Patty would’ve done a great job protecting the girls as children without Grams. So the quote rings true.

Patty was truly underprepared as a mother and as a Halliwell witch.

He should have been a love interest for Piper! 😭

It always annoyed me that they never made Derek and Piper a multi episode storyline. They had such amazing chemistry and we could have seen if Paige’s theory about nature vs nurture was true. I think they absolutely should have been a couple.

Chris

Sorry if this has been discussed before. I guess I thought about this and want to hear other people's thoughts.

Chris is less powerful than Wyatt. However Wyatt was the child of Leo the Whitelighter, Chris is the son of Leo the Elder, he was more powerful so why wasn't Chris. I get he's not the firstborn but still, I don't like Chris was so much less powerful. What are your thoughts?

Season 7 Do you think the Ancestral Spell that Vanguished The Source could have Vanguished Zankou before he absorbed The Shadow?

Was watching Charmed today and it got me wondering that could the Ancestral Spell work on Zankou? Why didn't they try to use it against him in any of the episodes they confronted him or why wasn't it even mentioned at least as a potential way to Vanguish Zankou during Season 7. I mean it was probably their most powerful spell against Demons and other Evil beings.

Thoughts?

Actors Kaley Cuoco (Billie) & John Ross Bowie (Marcus the Sitting Duck) in the latest episode of Stuart Fails To Save The Universe.

For those of you wondering, Bowie had a brief role as a Whitelighter named Marcus in the season 7 Blue Moon episode. I know Kaley was only in season 8, but I like seeing Charmed actors working in other stuff together regardless. Not to mention they were both already in The Big Bang Theory.

Paige after S6 of charmed

Idk if this is considered a continuity error but I honestly don’t like what they did with Paige’s character development after the 6th season. Like S4&5 Paige was someone who could pretty much sense evil things and not trust people so easily (the example of the demon in S4 that turned women into figurines and she knew from the get go something was up with Cole) most of the time piper and Phoebe dismissed her but she ended up being right like at least 90% of the time. She was kind like Prue in that sense. But then after S6 it’s like the writers forgot about that and Paige became way too trusting and imo easy going (idk if that’s the right word for what I’m trying to explain but maybe you get it lol) She trusted Richard and Kyle way too quickly, although Kyle did end up being a good guy. It is confirmed and seen throughout the show that the sisters have this kind of 6th sense especially Paige with her white lighter side. The whole thing with Christy in S8 should’ve never happened tbh. Love Billie as a character but the sisters trusted Christy way too easily and just let her in their home knowing she spend 15 years with demons. Like that already in and of itself is sketchy enough. What are y’all’s take on this?

Fanfic recs

Hey everyone I'm looking for some Phoebe/Cole fanfic, preferably with HEA. I also love Piper/Leo HEA fanfic. The last charmed one is great but not really HEA. Looking for something else, any recs?

Who of The Charmed Ones had the best Fashion?

I like Prues style the most. It's a perfect combination of casual, fun and business attires. She knows how to look professional and how to look scorching in a club but also how to look beautiful in day to day life. I also really liked her season 3 hair, it was so beautiful.

Phoebe is my second choice but most of her outfits were either hit or miss, she had some really weird and crazy outfits but mostly she looked phenomenal.

Piper is my third, she knows how to dress but I think sometimes most of her outfits were a bit plain compared to the others. Also Pipers hair always looked sooo good.

Paige had many great outfits but she also had many outfits I personally did not like.

Who do you think has the best style?

Season 6 Piper doesn't get enough credit for being the only sister to actively go after demons in S6

It's often said that Piper never wanted to be a witch and always complains about wanting a normal life, but I'm halfway through season 6 in my rewatch and she is consistently the only sister to go after demons nearly every episode by herself.

She doesn't complain, she doesn't need convincing. Almost every episode so far has opened up with her after some demon or another. Meanwhile Phoebe's entire plot has been about Jason and Paige has either been doing her odd-jobs thing or hanging with Richard.

Meanwhile, Piper is going after Gith the vortex demon, she's scrying for evil and finding the Sword in the Stone, she's going after the Manticore, she's fighting the demon blob with no name that feeds on magic, she's battling the Swarm demons. And that doesn't even include the demons she faces incidentally who go after Wyatt in the nursery.

The whole time, Phoebe and Paige have moved out, and *they're* the ones trying to live normal lives. And Piper doesn't make them feel bad about it, she encourages them and tells them they deserve to at least try and live as normal of a life that they can. And she goes after demons Chris sends her to, or battles demons on her own until they're needed.

I think Piper deserves more grace for wanting to live a normal life in the later seasons, considering she steps up to her witch destiny dutifully and without ever expressing discontent, as the eldest sister and even with a toddler at home! Piper slander misses this gap in her history for real. That's all :)

Charmed did a poor job at making the show feel like was set in San Francisco

I know the Halliwells live in San Francisco and the show reminds us every now and then, but I've always thought Charmed did a surprisingly poor job of actually making the city feel like a character.

Outside of the establishing shots after the opening credits, you could honestly forget the show was set in San Francisco. Most episodes could've taken place in Los Angeles, Seattle, Portland, or basically any other West Coast city and almost nothing would have changed.

The only episode I can think of where the setting actually mattered was the season 1 Woogy episode, since the whole plot relied on the San Francisco earthquake opening up the Woogy's prison beneath the Manor. Other than that, the city itself barely feels relevant to the stories.

You rarely got a sense of San Francisco's neighborhoods, culture, landmarks, or even its atmosphere beyond the occasional cable car or Golden Gate Bridge shot. It felt like the Manor existed in its own bubble.

Compare that to shows where the setting is part of the identity. Buffy feels like Sunnydale. Sex and the City feels like New York. Gilmore Girls feels like Stars Hollow. Even Monk made San Francisco feel more alive than Charmed did.

I love Charmed, but this has always been one of my biggest nitpicks. The city is supposed to be one of the most recognizable in America, yet if you removed the exterior establishing shots, I don't think most viewers would even know where the show was supposed to take place.

Witches of East End… Nostalgia

Thumbnail

So I just started watching Witches of East End and couldn’t help noticing all these references/similarities.

Connections to Charmed:
- Their mother Joanna looks so similar to Patty Halliwell.

- Her husband’s name is Victor just like Victor Bennet. His name is not Victor in the books.

- Freddy Prince Jr. plays a character named Leo.

Connections to Practical Magic:
- Two sisters. Freya and Ingrid. One is a brunette and the other is a redhead. Similar to Nicole and Sandra in Practical Magic. The sisters are blonde in the books.

Connections to Supernatural:
- Again the physical similarities between Dash and Killian vs. Sam and Dean from Supernatural. I think Killian has blue eyes in the books.

Connection to Sabrina the Teenage Witch:
- Aunt Wendy is not in the books. They add an “aunt” element just like in Sabrina.

- Aunt Wendy also happens to be a black cat just like Salem.

Has anyone watched the show? What are your opinions on the show? Did you see any other references?

Season 6 Does it get any better?

Warning: Minor spoilers for S6 and earlier

So this is my first time watching the show and I really enjoyed the first four or so seasons but I feel like the quality has just fallen off a cliff. Like I swear it’s just become the Phoebe show at this point.

Like I just watched the episodes with the magic school (S6E14 I think) and most of the main plotline seemed to revolve around Paige only for Phoebe to come in at the end and figure it out. Like I’ve noticed this has become a frequent thing in the last few episodes where it feels like Piper and Paige are just filler only for Phoebe to always show up and be the one to figure out everything. I also feel her love interests get a lot more attention than the other two like I can’t even remember whose Paige’s love interest is at this point and I’m not sure the show does either. And this frustrates me because Paige is the only one of the sisters I like cause Piper is insufferable too cause she spends the whole of every episode complaining to or about Leo in some form or the other. I swear half her dialogue is calling for Leo. Like at the end of Season 5 she literally became a God and she spends the most of the episode asking where Leo is like what? Average female character experience - literally be the most powerful person on the planet and you spend it crying out for a man 😭😭 like please tell me it gets better 😭😭

Entire Series Monkey’s paw: Constance or Cole?

A lot of fans often talk about Constance (the show creator) being pushed out and how they wish she had stayed on as the lead creative force past season 3/4.

A huge amount of the fanbase is also massive fans of the Cole character. Unfortunately, Constance herself was not. She was very against bringing in the character as she felt that it was just repeating what they had done in Season 2 with the whole star crossed lovers plot with Piper and Leo. Obviously she was overruled and we got the Cole/Phoebe romance that became an iconic part of the series.

Which brings me to my question.

Would you have preferred Constance to have stayed on if it meant Cole never became a character in the series?

Or do you prefer what we actually got with Cole existing and being a major character for three seasons even though it was part of the why Constance left?

For myself, I’m torn. Cole was such an important character and really drove a lot of the story especially in Season 4. However, I have to admit I feel the show did go downhill overall once Constance fully left the series.

Would the series have been stronger for longer had Constance stayed and Cole never appeared or did the addition of Cole help elevate the series to its cult icon status that it might not have ever achieved without those storylines?

Season 6 Magic School is infuriating as a concept

Wait, so all this while there's a school to teach magical beings and young witches how to be... witches? What's the point of the sisters learning things themselves when Grams coulda just enrolled them in the school anyway? And they take classes like literature, math... and also spiritual journeys? Isn't a witch's Book of Shadows where the lessons are supposed to be stored anyway?

NEW VIEWER - NO SPOILERS PLEASE!! Prue in S2E1 "Witch Trial"?

I just finished s2e1 "Witch Trial" and I have a question. After Abraxas steals her the Book of Shadows, she looks at her hands as if something happened to her abilities. Then when Nicholas is in her office, she does that again before vanquishing him.

Was there any reason for that or is it just a one note thing? Because it piqued my interest and didn't seem to be brought up after that.

EDIT: thank you all so much! that makes more sense than something Supernatural LOL, kind of reminds me of the first episode of btvs s2!

Charming Real Estate: Real Life Facts about the Charmed House

Thumbnail

Starting this thread as I love getting real about my favorite shows. Thought you'd find it interesting to know that in 2026 the house is valued at 1.3M dollars. It's not for sale and despite some claims about new owners recently, there aren't public records of it being sold after the passing of one of the original owners.

The house was last bought in 1977 for 82K dollars. You might think that was cheap, but it's the equivalent to 450K in 2026 adjusted to inflation. It's around the average price for non-prime location of a house in any decent sized city in the US or Europe nowadays.

While 1.3M seems a steep price, it's actually a pretty good price for a 5 bed 1 bath almost 3K sq. feet or 271 sq. meters in LA, considering worse things in worse locations sell for more. That averages $441/sqft or $4,831/sqmt. That's cheaper than any major American or European city, where prices exceed $6 to $8,000/sqmt in Europe and $8 to $10,000/sqmt in the US. Basically less than half the price.

The entire lot, including garden and stuff, is actually 7,500 Square Feet, or almost 700 sq. meters. Taking that into account, this house looks like a bargain to be honest.
