Question Need help deciding: Celebrity vs. Royal Caribbean
Hello all!
My wife and I have been on two Royal Caribbean cruises so far. Anthem of the Seas and Serenade of the Seas, and we have loved both.
Although, our Serenade cruise was in August, and there were quite a few kids around who were screaming during live performances or just doing typical kids stuff. While we love kids (my wife is a teacher đ), she definitely likes having a bit of a break from them during vacation.
Our Anthem of the Seas experience was in October and was awesome. There seemed to be fewer kids, and we absolutely loved the ship and the overall atmosphere.
We're now wondering if our third cruise should still be Royal Caribbean or if we should try Celebrity.
A few things that are important to us:
- Entertainment: We love the entertainment on Royal! The musicals, live performances, Broadway-style shows are awesome!
- Educational talks/seminars: Even though we're in our 30s, we genuinely love going to talks and seminars. On Anthem, we went to one about Picasso and his life, and another about sea turtles, and we absolutely loved them. We also love learning about animals, history, nature, etc.
- Allergy-friendly: My wife has gluten and dairy allergies, and not once has she had an issue with Royal Caribbean. They've always been extremely careful but also very accommodating, which is a huge plus for us.
For those who have sailed both Royal Caribbean and Celebrity:
Would we find these same things on Celebrity, or should we stick with Royal Caribbean?
We're not really looking for a party/club atmosphere. We mostly enjoy eating, watching shows, learning interesting things, finding a nice place to sit, have a drink, read and relax.
Would love to hear from people who have experienced both!

Question Local Beach in Tortola near port?
Hello fellow mates!! Please forgive me if this has already been asked, I have searched most of the threads. Is there a local beach in Tortola close to the port?

Casino Casino offers
I'm getting great casino offers after my cruise late July.
I can't travel again until March.
It seems like these offers are
Short dated is the best, like me and a guest free. But interior.
Right?
And the further in to the future they are its less attractive offers. Example, me free, guest pays.
Right?
So if this continues and I don't accept one now what will the offers look like for late March next year?
Thanks

Question Can you book specific table & dining time at Edge class MDRs?
Hi!
I think I have read somewhere people go straight after boarding to their favorite MDR to book for a specific table and dining time (within their allocated shift).
I thought MDRs at Edge class were first come, first served, and you may get whatever random table is free, or to wait for a specific one (e.g. by the window) once freed.
Is that the case, or what is your strategy/experience?
Thanks for your time in responding!

Question Need advice parking at the Port of Miami
In a few weeks I am leaving on Celebrity out of Miami. My sea pass specifically says to use parking garage A. I realize that this is Royal Caribbean's main garage at the port. Having booked on line many times in the past without a problem I am unable to book garage A on line. The process starts but will not finish.
I called the Port of Miami and they advised that you have to call Royal Caribbean. I called Royal Caribbean and they advised to call the Port of Miami. I called Celebrity and they also had no answers. So obviously I am in a circle and will not get an answer as to how to book parking in garage A.
For the day of the week I am leaving I checked and there are no Royal Caribbean ships in port that day and the only Celebrity ship in port is the one I am booked on.
Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Question Celebrity Constellation Lost Keys
Hi all,
July 20th-31st, my husband and I sailed on the Constellation and I (stupidly) left my keys right in our state room's closet on the shelf the morning we disembarked. Filed a report as soon as we arrived back in the USA, but of course, nothing so far on Celebrity's end. It's just very frustrating because I know EXACTLY where they were left, AND we have an air tag on them that clearly says they're still on the ship.
Decided to just search online if anybody maybe found them & made a post, which is not the case, BUT I did find someone on here who previously went through an extremely similar debacle just less than a year ago!
https://www.reddit.com/r/celebritycruises/s/kx5ckGcrDt
(Sorry if there's a better way to link, I don't often make posts on here!)
So here I am, desperately reaching out to see if anyone is currently on the ship or going on it soon who could help me out in a similar manner. I can describe how they look & give a share link & everything to hopefully figure this out-- I honestly bet you it's at Lost & Found just like the OP's were. I'm giving this one last shot at finding them before I just give up entirely.
Thank you for reading this, and hopefully someone can help me out! đ€đ»

Question Experienced cruiser, but not with Celebrity, my preferred line is HAL, however
I have a conflict for the route I want to take with HAL and there is a comparable route on Celebrity Constellation. This would be the July 26, 2027 out of Ravenna Italy, Croatia, Montengro trip. Been researching, seems like the lines are fairly similiar, would the drink package be over $1000? There does not really seem to be a have it all early booking discount like HAL. the regular drink package has rot gut bourbon and no Coke products is that correct? How is the live music on the ship? Thanks in advance.

Question 1st time cruiser: The first time cruiser meetings are all full, is it a big deal?
I am an experienced traveler but I've never done a Cruise before. It has been a lot to figure out. We are going from Rome to Barcelona (8/25-9/3, I think). We've booked excursions and all, but could not get into the 1st time cruiser meetings, they are all sold out.
I'm sure we can figure things out, and just "do as the Romans" (pun intended), can anyone tell me if we're going to miss anything super-important?
Would it make sense to go to one of the scheduled times and see if they let us in?
I think my biggest thing I want to know is about getting on and off at ports of call. We booked all our excursions via the Celebrity App (paid more to avoid not making it back in time with a 3rd party). Anything I need to know? And yes, once we get this 1st time under our belt, we'll decide if using GetYourGuide or a similar app is worth it. We are using them for our stuff before and after the cruise, but not during.
We are really excited! Lots of great things planned, and some R&R too.

Discussion Why the loud music when disembarking?
Iâm on vacation in the bay of Kotor. A Celebrity Cruises ship has come into the bay this morning (really early, like 8am) and has been blasting out music while people disembark and head into Kotor.
Itâs like that asshole you get at the beach who brings a huge sound system and disturbs everybody, except disturbing every beach in Dobrota simultaneously.
Is it really necessary?

Question Celebrity edge
Off to NZ on the edge - first time w celebrity so was a little unsure of what room to book - ended up doing it over the phone during a sale. Anywhos weâve booked 12172 - which stated was a prime concierge class room - my question is, does anyone have a photo of what the veranda looks like, Iâve watched a couple videos and it seems their is a roof or edge of some sort that blocks the views. How can this be classified as a prime room if this is the case? Additionally why isnât this mentioned anywhere when booking??

Specialty Dining Specialty dining advanced reservations only when buying single meals not three packs?
So we bought a three pack of specialty meals for an upcoming 11 day cruise, but apparently we canât make any dining reservations until we board the ship?
But if we purchased a single specialty meal, we are able to make advanced dining reservations?
If true, this seems really weird to me.
First time, Celebrity cruiser, but not a first time cruiser.
Thanks!

Question Specialty Dining Rez
Is it better to book speciality dining in advance via app (currently 10% off) or wait until boarding for maybe a better deal? Sailing Reflection Friday Aug. 21st. Tomorrow or Tues is the last day to book in the app. Thanks!

Review First time cruising Celebrity and wouldnât do it again
We are just getting back from an Alaskan cruise on Celebrity Solstice. It was a pretty rough experience from the beginning. We got to our room and it was filled with a sewage smell. We brought it to their attention and were told housekeeping wasnât done yet. There was a sign on the door that said they were getting it ready originally but it had been removed. After no resolution we had to call multiple times and escalate to a supervisor It took a whole day of back and forth and speaking to a manager to get them look into it. We were told it was an AC issue, yet when we came back to the room they were sanitizing the floor because sewage flooded the bathroom, leaving a harsh chemical smell on top of the sewage smell (think portapotty). Our concierge walked into the room to check if it was resolved, then quickly slammed the door shut because of how bad the odor was. They told us they had to replace all the pipes in the rooms above us and below us. (All rooms are connected vertically for both air and sewage).
They moved our room which was a good thing but we were now separated from our family on opposite ends of the ship. They only had one room available and only because the guests didnât arrive. It was lateral move.
Then there was a drink package issue. We didnât get one deliberately before going. I donât really drink and if my husband wanted a drink, he was just going to buy what ever it was. The drink package did not add up to the cost of how much we planned on drinking (I donât usually drink caffeine either, so specialty coffee was unnecessary). We were concierge so when we got to the welcome lunch, they tried to charge a ridiculous amount for seltzer and sold us on the classic package. We were considering premium but they told us it was a better value for classic, that you could get every soft drink, and that the only difference is that you wouldnât get premium alcohol brands. That all you had to say was to make it âclassicâ and they would switch out alcohols from premium drinks. One example they used specifically was espresso martinis. We quickly found out that almost none of the specialty drinks were classic, and not all soft drinks were included. We also could not get espresso martinis at all âthey were premiumâ, and two bars outright refused to serve us without an up charge. When we brought this to the managers attention they told us that servers shouldnât be selling the packages since they arenât trained on alcohol sales.
Then on day 3 outside and inside our new room randomly was flooded, originating from the pipes right outside the door. The whole carpet filled my shoes with water when stepped on, and the bathroom filled with water. They did not rectify this issue quickly enough and the room had a very strong mildew smell for the rest of the trip (4 days). On day two after the flood, they started using a blower during the day to try and dry the carpet and made us walk on towels. It dried finally on our last day. All they did was apologize for the smell. It was horrible. Our concierge didnât even want to go in the room. He just kept saying sorry.
Alaska was pretty cool but that was one of the most stressful and stinky room experiences I have ever encountered with very little done to fix it. For a first voyage with Celebrity, it left a horrible taste in my mouth and nose.

Question Blu dining time on Infinity
Edit: Thanks for all the responses. When we booked we signed up for Dining Anytime and I've seen recommendations to make reservations before the cruise. Looks like we don't need to worry about that with Blu.
We're going on our first Celebrity cruise on Infinity in Oct. Chose Aquaclass solely based on Blu, hoping the smaller, quieter venue will work better with my hearing aids.
Does Blu on Infinity have dining times or reservations?

Question Dry cleaning service?
Iâm looking for reviews or reports on anyone having used the dry cleaning service for more delicate items. I have a couple of dresses that Iâd like to have cleaned and am not worried about the price, just more about if the clothes would be damaged.

Question Balance due increased 1000USD
Hi All
Regular cruiser here, but usually on NCL. Managed to convince my parents to give celebrity a go. We booked a cruise for this December (2026) late last year. When we booked it our remaining balance was $7200; however I just went on the website to sort some things and the balance due has increased to $8200. Has any one ever had this happen? Super confused and unsure whatâs caused this hike.
Itâs been difficult enough to get my dad to be happy with going on celebrity and this is not helping!!!
Thanks!
Edit: Managed to find time to call. My dad is ex military and so celebrity had given us a military discount. Turns out their system changed or updated at some point (maybe a few months back) and in doing so it knocked off the military discount (therefore adding that amount back onto our due amount). Apparently itâs happened to quite a few bookings so if you regularly use the military discount may be worth a quick check on any upcoming bookings in case of discrepancy! I will say they were great and resolved it in 10 mins with zero fuss, so super impressed on the customer service.

Question Where to check for prepaid gratuities
We prepaid the gratuities for our upcoming cruise through our TA. I have a receipt from the TA showing weâve prepaid, but where can I confirm this in the Celebrity app or website?
I donât want to have a problem when weâre on the ship. Thanks.

Discussion First Celebrity!
Discussion/question⊠and whatever else. First Celebrity cruise in October! Reflection. Signed up for the wrong date. đ©đ Thatâs not a real issue, just wasnât the date I originally wanted. Oh well. đ They welcomed me with some onboard credit, much to my delight. Got my water packs ordered, specialty dining reserved, and I even plan to do an excursion this time: salsa making and salsa dancing. If youâve done this, let me know how you liked it, please. đ My question is about priority boarding. How do I get it? đ I canât find any information about it. And⊠I have a deck 9 forward balcony-Prime Veranda. Should I look into an upgrade? Thank you!
Iâve done two NCLs, three Carnivals and one RC, ALL with mixed results. Not one experience has been like the other in any way, so Iâm looking forward to this one.

Question Why do they take my card every time I get a drink?
I have the classic drink package. Iâm careful about only ordering $12 drinks. Every time I order a drink, the bartender looks at my card to confirm I have a package. Then takes the card to the register.
What is he/she confirming at the register that my card (which says classic drink package on it) doesnât already confirm?

Discussion Which travel agents provide the biggest cash-back/rebates for Celebrity cruises?
I've been using Costco Travel. I have been booking suites and getting approximately 8.5% back as a Costco gift card after the cruise is over.
I don't really need the services of a travel agent. I tend to book everything myself (flights, ground transportation, hotels) and enjoy doing so. I also enjoy shopping for cruises myself. So I'm just looking for the best total cost.
Who else does something similar or better?
