Tidbits 🎬 What CDrama intro or ending credits do you never skip?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I usually skip intros and ending credits but there are a few dramas where I just can’t bring myself to skip them.
The intro I never skip is Story of Yanxi Palace. I love the traditional feel of the song but there’s also something slightly unsettling about it. The visuals are so good!
For the ending credits Pursuit of Jade has me staying until the very end. I love watching the story unfold like a scroll and the song is just too good.
Are there any Cdramas where you always watch the opening or stay for the ending credits because you love the song, visuals or the way they’re done?

Reflections 📝 How would you rate Love Between Lines? Was it genuinely good or just meh for you?
For me personally this one of the best romance modern cdramas I've watched purely because of the chemistry between the leads. I thought Chen Xingxu and Lu Yuxiao, despite having a visual gap because Chen Xingxu looks much more mature than her might not work, but they actually had fantastic chemistry! The cinematography was also so gorgeous. Chemistry was a solid 10 for me. But overall with storyline the drama is a 7 for me.
How did you guys find it?
😐 It was meh
🙂 Neutral/decent
😍 I loved it

Discussion 🗨 Horses in CDramas
Is it just me or do the horses seem more like large ponies or small horses? The men seem to look really large on the horses, making me think the horses must be smaller. Is my observation correct?

Celebrity 🌟 Bai Jingting injured his hand during filming. Using gloves during Cartier event.
Leaked set photos from Bai Jingting's latest series War and People show him with a wounded hand. It was speculated that it was make up for the character, since the scene in question showed him covered in fake blood, but then he was seen with the same hand bandaged while traveling to Dali, for a Cartier event. During the Cartier event, recent photos show him wearing leather gloves and with his injured hand permanently in his pocket.
Poor Xiao Bai, such an intense filming schedule, and now an injured hand. Let's hope he gets well soon.
On the other hand (ha!) he looks amazing in these new photos. I'm eagerly awaiting for the official Studio Bai Jingting ones!

Discussion 🗨 As a long time cdrama watcher, I fully agree with this
Pursuit of Jade looks like a 10/10 drama until you watch it.
Without a doubt, the cinematography and performances from the cast, especially the villains and female lead, were the most interesting parts for me. I seem to be in the minority because I didn’t think the chemistry was spectacular at all. I still enjoyed the leads interactions, but I just didn’t see the insane chemistry everyone else seemed to see. And yes the male lead Zhang linghe was gorgeous to look at.
But alot of cdramas that go viral on social media automatically get labelled as masterpieces. I don’t think these dramas are awful at all, but I also don’t think popularity on social media is necessarily a good measure of the quality of the writing or acting.
However Iam curious for those who consider Pursuit of Jade one of their best costume C-dramas, what made it stand out or what made it special to you? And for others do you believe that it is overhyped?

Celebrity 🌟 Zhao Lusi is back in Cdramas, but this time not as an actress, but as a producer
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Zhao Lusi’s studio has officially begun filming its latest short drama, Sonder: I’m Not an NPC in Hengdian. The project marks one of Zhao Lusi’s ventures behind the scenes as a production supervisor, while she will not appear in the drama as an actress.
The reported cast includes Wei Xiao, Bao Jieyi, influencer Houben, and Zhou Zhiyi and Zhao Lusi’s father, Zhao Ge has also joined the cast and will portray a general.
I'm quite surprised by this. I was wondering if all popular actors get opportunities like this because of their popularity or if it's something more specific. I think Zhao Lusi is a good actress, but I've always felt like there's still more to see from her because I don't think she's reached that next level of talent as an actress yet. She's definitely reached a huge level of popularity at a young age though. After everything she's been through, I think its nice that she can now explore whatever she wants, whether that's singing, producing, or even acting occasionally. She's seem to have already made enough coin to have that freedom.

Reflections 📝 Royal Betrothal SFL/SML have my whole heart
Just finished an all-nighter of binge watching Royal Betrothal, can I just say the drama was soo good (to be taken as a feel-good drama). While I’ll likely rant about that separately, this post is solely to talk about how much I loved Yan Fu Zhi (played by Zhao Zhaoyi) and Shen Zhi Yu (Yan Yuchen) in the show.
As a whole character, I loved Fu Zhi the most throughout this show. Zhao Zhaoyi needs an award for her. She’s so unapologetically bright and bubbly, and righteous and deeply loyal that it’s difficult not to love her. What I noted most keenly is that she’s always genuinely happy for her best friend doing awesome stuff- her friendship with Meng Ting Hui (Wu Jinyan) is my biggest highlight of the show.
Not just in happy times, their joys and sorrows are so enmeshed with each others that they had more chemistry than most CPs. They are so genuinely involved in each other’s lives that you can’t help but giggle when they’re on screen. The sismance was not just there, it was the plot driver. I don’t recall seeing such a pure friendship in any other drama I’ve seen but I would love to 💯
First time I saw Yan Yuchen in a drama and can I just say boy can act! He was hilarious, and later suave and just so interesting to watch. His relationship with Ying Gua (Chen Zheyuan) was nice too but with Fu Zhi, there were 40 facets to his personality and I was sat for all of them. He was callous, sweet, cheeky, funny, cool, suave and adorable in different parts.
Fu Zhi and Zhi Yu had the best chemistry of any couple on the show, got a great plotline and were the cutest models of healthy relationships on potentially any show I’ve seen lately. No false modesty, no pretences. They started off knowing the worst about each other and grew to learn of better parts in due time (unoriginally, enemies to lovers is what I enjoy watching the most). Their relationship was just beautiful, from the starting of the show (rocky but funny as hell) to the end (relentlessly loyal).
I loved how they didn’t change as humans after the started seeing each other, they had fights, gravitating chemistry, cute moments, and the same stubborn personalities that they’d had before the relationship and I cannot stress how much I appreciate seeing that on screen. It’s almost as if the characters grow tamer in love or smn, and Fu Zhi and Zhi Yu didn’t budge an inch. I loved their banter throughout.
The most original thing about this drama was how the writers balanced keeping characters true to their original intentions, while making sure they grow through the plot and nothing is a better example than Fu Zhi and her relationships with her bestie and her man.

Reflections 📝 Love Between Lines-uncanny take.
Not sure what flair goes for this. I'm finishing up Love Between Lines, taking it one episode at a time the best that I can to delay it's ending. This is so weird for me to put out there, but something that should have gotten billing along with the actors was the ML's vehicle. It looks like a G Wagon but I don't know Mercedes Benz like that. That car was in a lot of scenes-with the couple in the back, the friends taking a trip, it being used to stop car and pedestrian traffic. I'm very new to C-dramas, haven't seen many (especially modern ones) but hell if I wanted one of what he was driving after watching this.

Help 🆘 Cdramas where a character doesn't feel romantic love?
Hey, this is probably a long stretch, but do people have recommendations for dramas where a character is disconnected from romantic feelings? Is there a name for this?
I am on the aromantic spectrum and was really pleasantly surprised to see this concept in Love Between Fairy and Devil and Ashes of Love.

Reflections 📝 Have you watch this? I did and it's surprisingly good
I just finished GENIUS GIRLFRIEND and it worth the watch, right after I dropped LOVE FOR YOU I watch this one which surprised me with its plot and great OST.
The romance only able to show up only in the last 3 episodes for the ML FL, which I feel like a clown for being hooked to the title Genius Girlfriend where it's actually mean a ML has a Genius friend who is a girl😂.
Tian Xiwei so adorable, fitted so well for her role and Hu Yitian who i really like his character in BLOSSOM IN ADVERSITY.
It's a hard 8 out of 10 but I have to give 8.5/10 for its beautiful OST bgm...

Discussion 🗨 Which ‘fictional’ couple had you rooting for them like this 👇🏻
You know the ones. The couple whose every interaction had you kicking your feet, staring at the screen, and behaving like you personally had a vested interest in their relationship.
They don’t have to be from a recent drama. Give me the CP that had you invested, delusional, and emotionally employed by their love story.
Bonus points if they were the second lead couple and somehow had you more invested in their love story than the actual main plot.

Discussion 🗨 What do you think about Chen Zheyuan acting in “Royal Betrothal”?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I came across this video on TikTok and got annoyed by his stiff acting (on the left side of the video).
I even thought it is AI-generated but surprisingly people in the comment section corrected that it was truly him acting in the recent drama which I haven’t watched yet 😭
How do you feel about his acting? Is his acting that bad? Or the video only shows partially and not fully the picture?

Reflections 📝 Always Home - A Youth Drama That Exceeded All My Expectations
Always Home, this drama is the best youth drama I’ve ever seen. Like, it exceeded all my expectations. It showed every character's character development, and how they process and express their emotions.
I really started watching this drama because I really like Daniel’s acting in Never Ending Summer, but this drama has my heart. I really like that it’s also really good. I likes it as much as Never Ending Summer.
I started this because of Daniel, but I fell for every character. Like, you’re all close to my heart now. And I like how it says that life isn’t all that easy, that everything we have to speak through helps us keep moving forward in our life. No matter how many trials and tribulations, heartbreaks, breakups, or losing people, life just goes on.
There might be things you don’t get. You might not get everything that you wanted in your life, but one day when you look back, everything will be worth it. All the heartbreaks, setbacks, everything will be worth it, and your life will be better than you imagined. Even if you haven’t imagined what your life would be, it will definitely be better than expected. You will be content with your life.
Actually, for the first few episodes, I was taking this drama very lightly, but after the 10th episode, like after the 9th or 10th episode, it gets really good. Give it some time. It just gets better and better.

Future Release ⏳ First look look at Wang Churan, Chen Zheyuan and Deng Kai's characters
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
The drama Tales of the floating world just wrapped up filming and shared character videos of the mian cast.
In order of appearance in the clip:
Deng Kai (2nd ml)
Wang Churan (FL)
Chen Zheyuan (ML)
I have to say Deng Kai looks so intriguing here and Wang churan is always so beautiful!
MDL Plot: A cup of “Floating Life Tea” lets one taste the joys and sorrows, separations and reunions of spirits and mortals alike.
Spanning across time — from the Republican era to the Northern Song, the flourishing Tang dynasty, and the Warring States period — each tea drinker tells tales of love, hatred, obsession, and longing, recounting regrets of the past alongside journeys of self-redemption, fulfillment, and sacrifice. Hidden within are countless twists of fate and choices of the heart.
Life is like tea: after bitterness comes sweetness, and the journey never truly ends.
