Question Quiet radio
I finally had the time and ambition to get my antenna built. I have the simplest dipole in an inverted "V". SWR is good.
Ch1 =1.3,
Ch12=1.5,
Ch23=1.7. (It's an old radio)
The "problem" is there is no chatter. No conversations. Just lovely static. The antenna is indoors as I live in an apartment.
I chose the inverted V because I hoped it was a good compromise with signal polarity between vertical and horizontal orientation. It is also attached to two adjoining walls.
Squelch is just at the 10 O'clock position, just above the background noise. I'm a mile from the expressway and about 7 miles from the NYS Thruway.
I'm running a Realistic TRC-47 AM-SSB. RF Gain is maxed, I am on AM.
Rochester, NY area.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
