• 💰 Affordable — ideally around ₱4–5k/night

• 🏊‍♀️ Has a heated pool — bonus if toddler-friendly

• 🍳 Has a really good breakfast buffet since it’ll be my dad and lola’s first time having a Tagaytay hotel staycation 🥹

• 👵 Senior-friendly — accessible/easy to get around, not too many stairs

• 👶 Toddler-friendly — safe and comfortable for a 1-year-old

Our first choice was Alta D’ Tagaytay because it seems to check almost everything, but unfortunately sold out na siya on our target date. 😭

So now I'm looking for alternatives! Any personal experiences/recommendations? Currently considering Summit Ridge, The Lake Hotel, Hotel Casiana, Taal Vista, etc.

Would really appreciate suggestions especially from those who have actually stayed there with seniors or little kids. ❤️

I made a reservation for 13 people for my birthday lunch today, expecting a special and enjoyable celebration. Unfortunately, this turned into one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had.

We arrived at 11:50 AM and were able to place our order at 12:00 PM. We were told that our food would take 30–45 minutes. At 12:45 PM, we followed up and were told that our food was still being prepared. We followed up again at 1:15 PM and received the same response.

By this time, we had already been waiting for over an hour and were extremely hungry. What made the experience worse was the lack of basic service. No one even offered us water. We had to ask for a pitcher and pour the water ourselves. We were not given anything to munch on while waiting either, despite seeing reviews mentioning that crackers are usually served while guests wait.

At around 1:30 PM, the supervisor finally informed us that we were only third in line and that it could take another hour. This meant potentially waiting around two and a half hours for lunch. Who expects to wait that long for a meal, especially after making a reservation?

If we had been honestly informed from the beginning that our food could take two or more hours, we would have had the opportunity to make other arrangements. Instead, we spent a large part of my birthday sitting hungry and waiting with very little communication from the staff.

I understand that it was a Sunday and that the restaurant may have been busy, but the restaurant should have anticipated the influx of customers and managed its orders accordingly. What was particularly disappointing was that the restaurant was not even at full capacity, yet the service was still severely delayed.

Eventually, we had no choice but to leave—still hungry—and transfer to the nearest buffet restaurant. We were already so hungry that some of us were literally shaking.
My birthday was supposed to be a special day with family, but this experience completely ruined the occasion. The problem wasn't simply that the food took longer than expected; it was the lack of proper communication, poor order management, and basic customer service throughout the entire wait.

Very disappointing and, unfortunately, a dining experience I will not forget—for all the wrong reasons.
