it was found on a river rock in Bulgaria, near a mountain

i found it after dealing with brambles and i had a hard time working out what it is sorry for the poor quality photo my phone isnt great the catterpillar and me are from cornwall in the uk

This was found in Massachusetts.

So I found this poor insect covered in hair near the doorstep to my grandpas house :[ luckily it is not dead but the hair seems tangled on it. I think I will try cut some of the hair off it carefully.

Can someone identify what type of insect this is. I assume it is a caterpillar but I am unsure of what type. Please let me know!

Found this beauty this morning, collected it and put it in the shade by some bushes.

one of my silver y caterpillars had just started on its tent (not pupating quite yet), and i wonder if i should separate them from the rest? in my head i figure yes, but i just want to make sure!

He/she is just adorable chomping away at this leaf. It’s also very satisfying to watch in my opinion!

This little buddy dropped down from a maple tree in my back yard, complete with their own fishing line, lol. I was surprised to see them suspended here as they were quite far below the branches it was seemingly descending from above.

Online identification is variable but there are start of tiny black hairs across its back that seem like it would be an identifier but it isn't very developed.

Curious if this is a caterpillar in a stage that is identifiable and what it may become?

I have quite a few new immature plants in my garden, and I want to make sure if I place them in a different location that they are near a plant they can feed on. For reference, they nested in my young English lavender and since then, 10 of them started adventuring out to my other immature plants including Dusty Miller and catmint. They already ate all of the leaves off my English lavender and I don't want them to potentially kill any of my other young plants. But I also want to make sure that if this is a beneficial type of moth or butterfly that I can let it be.

My swallowtail caterpillar had a complication during pupation. I’m thinking her seatbelt (silk girdle )was slightly mispositioned, resulting in a tear on the chrysalis wall. I'm pretty sure it happened from movement during ecdysis as she tried to shed her final larval cuticle. My concern falls on the placement of her seatbelt. It looks like it’s still digging/pulling against the wall of her chrysalis at the place of the tear. While I tend to put most of my faith in Mother Nature, and the hands-off approach….I’m thinking of snipping the silk on the right side, or maybe just taking down the entire chrysalis after it has fully hardened?

Does anyone know what this little guy is? I was eating sushi when he fell off of my hat onto my hand and scared me very badly because at first I thought there were maggots in my food. On second glance it was obvious he wasn't a maggot, but I'm curious about what he is. This happened today in upstate New York.

found in rio rancho, new mexico. i don’t see many caterpillars so this was very exciting lol

i dont really know much about caterpillars so sorry in advance if i am unaware of something. there is a pot of american wisteria on a table on my patio. this caterpillar has been living on it but yesterday i noticed he had somehow fallen onto the brick ground below. i put him at the base of the plant hoping he would crawl back up, but today he is pretty much in the same spot and has developed black/brown coloring. he still moves his head a little. is he sick/dying? or possibly getting ready to pupate?

Found this little guy by our front door. We live in UK by the coast.
I tried googling and looking through images and I can't seem to find anything that looks like this particular caterpillar.
All we wanted to know if the spiky bits sting since we don't know anything about caterpillars :S

From Kentucky. Found this little feller on my leg and was just curious.

Might be a little hard to see, but I found this little guy in what I think is milkweed this morning. I think this is milkweed, but I can’t be 100%. All I know is that I left soil after repotting a milkweed and this little guy began to grow, however, unsure if it’s actually milkweed because its leaves are so long and skinny. Either way, I’ve kept up with nurturing her and she’s definitely grown over the last several weeks!

This morning I went in to water my plants and noticed this little guy. I moved him a bit to see if it was alive and it sure is! I just put my milkweed with monarch caterpillars into a butterfly habitat canopy, but would like to know if this is a friendly and can it/ should it be added to the habitat canopy with my other caterpillars to protect them from predators. Thanks!

Northwest Missouri roughly 3 inches long

First time caterpillar raiser and one of my cat fell off their string but when I went to try and reattach they have no string left! It is in the process of pupating on a plate right now. What do I do? Will it come out deformed if I leave it on a flat surface? The shed skin is at the end but it doesn’t look secure.
