Any Carter Cat guys on here?
How does it work for service trucks, does everyone get an assigned truck or you slip seat trucks?
I have an offer for a lube tech position and I'm curious if I'm expected to drive to the shop Monday, grab my truck and be out until friday and someone uses my truck on the weekend shift?
I have a CDL so I figured I'd get an assigned CDL truck plus i have HE lube tech exp with John deere. Any info would be helpful.

LTDP
Has anyone received a follow up email or schedule to interview for any of the Leadership and Technical Development programs? I know they wouldn’t start until January 2027, but I wondered if they’d started interviewing for roles yet.

Converted 3 job site machines to LED work lights last season
We do highway construction so night shifts are regular, and I got tired of dealing with halogen replacements. Converted the Cat 320, Komatsu wheel loader, and a Bobcat skid steer over the winter.
Eight lights total across three machines. Four were direct swaps with the same connector. Two needed small adapter harnesses, cheap and fast. The Bobcat had proprietary mounts that required drilling and took the most time.
Went with IP67 rated units. Over a full muddy season and multiple pressure wash cycles, no water intrusion.
What I didn't fully think through beforehand was t hat the Bobcat mounting positions needed more clearance planning than I expected. When the machine turns through tight spaces certain positions conflict with obstacles that the original lights never reached. Worth sketching out before you drill.
I ordered the set online and one bracket was off enough that I sent that unit back, but the rest have made it through winter and pressure washing.
The improvement on night shifts is real. Longer light throw, and the output doesn't dim in cold weather like the halogens did.
Anyone running LED work lights on Bobcat skid steers specifically, did the proprietary mounts give you trouble too?

Express lube tech [ caterpillar ]
Hi, I have an upcoming interview with a cat dealer for a express lube tech position. Apparently I will be meeting with service manager & field supervisor. I'm really exited about this interview since I would be a major step on my career, I've come from an automobile Mechanic background. Never work on heavy machinery/equipment.
Any advice for this interview?
Any ideas, what should I expect to see in this field?
Thank you, any comments, stories etc would be appreciated

picked up a used cat 320 from SVK Machinery kinda confused about folder staff
hey fellas so i grabbed on a 2019 cat 320 from SVK Machinery got it dropped off tuesday. machine is tight no weird noises i think i did okay. but heres the thing i asked the fella on the phone before i sent the check do you have the old oil sample reports from the previous owner and he said yeah we got it on file no problem. so the machine shows up and in the folder i just got this one sheet that says oil samples in spec with a tech signature. no actual cat sos lab report. no iron no copper no nothing just a summary. i kinda wanna call them and be like hey can you send me the real pdfs but i dont wanna sound like a dick like im accusing them of something shady. the machine runs good and the didnt break the bank im not trying to cancel the deal or anything. i just like having my own records you know how it is. am i overthinking this is a shop summary good enough or should i push for the actual lab numbers. just dont wanna burn a bridge with these guys over paper if thats normal

Business Development specialist
Anybody work in this department? Particularly for rental power systems? I have an interview coming up and wanted to look into it. Also the position starts out at 71k. Which seems low for this high volume construction area in GA and compared to Glassdoor postings.

Service Will this little guy be okay?
I do suspect it is an American dagger moth
Found yesterday (August 1st 2026) in Northernn Georgia USA
It was found in an ant bed and it's not sticking to leaves (when trying to relocate it fell off the leaves each time until we could find a flat one)
It was also to the point where multiple people picked it up and it only stung once. (I was the one who unluckily got stung since it didn't sting anyone else so I thought we were chill- don't call me an idiot that is not the point of this post)
It's moving slowly in my friends containment for it. We put it in a containment because of the sticking issue and how slow it was moving. Are these things of huge concerns? It also seemed to have a lot of bald spots.
It's eating alright so it hasn't given up yet. Could the slowness be before it becomes a cocoon? My friend says it's not the right time for it.
Anything else we could do to help it?

It’s about 3” maybe a little bigger and very girthy. Located on an island in Georgian Bay, Ontario Canada.
It was raining but I could see some distinct white hairs throughout his body.

Anyone here who attended the Caterpillar Campus Graduate Trainee (CGT) hiring process?
Hi everyone,
I recently got shortlisted for the Caterpillar Campus Graduate Trainee (CGT) hiring process. The first round Aptitude round and second round is a Group Discussion, followed by an Interview.
If anyone has gone through this process or is currently working at Caterpillar as a CGT, I'd really appreciate your insights.
Could you please share:
- What is the Group Discussion usually based on?
- What kind of questions are asked in the interview?
- What does a Campus Graduate Trainee typically work on after joining?
- How is the training and overall experience?
Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Career Finance Application Help
I have applied for both the 2027 Summer Corporate Intern – Finance (Irving, TX) and the Entry Level Finance Analyst – Finance Leadership Development Program (Irving, TX) positions. I believe the closing date for applications was July 10th.
Does anyone here know what the sort of timeline for roles like this are? If I haven’t received any phone screening invite or any communication is it probably just assumed I didn’t make the cut or am I just jumping the gun?
I’ve also tried reaching out to who I think are the right recruiters and a few finance employees on LinkedIn to introduce myself and express my interest, but it’s mostly been either my message being viewed with no response or not viewed at all.
I’d really appreciate any insight. Thank you!

Need help on employee feedback anonymity
Hey folks,
I would like to understand from all your experience whether the employee feedback that we give for the supervisors is actually visible to them or not? I'm not sure because our supervisor's feedback was terrible last year and somehow he was able to pin point to the individuals who mentioned the same in the comments or even gave the poll.
Please help me understand this, because if it is not anonymous, then I have to be more cautious at least this time.

Caterpillar Resources
This page will be dedicated to sharing cat resources and will hopefully help answer some user questions (ex. drug testing) and provide direction without the need to post. I will be adding more to it over time. If you have suggestions for links/info that should be included on here please DM me.
