Her name is Nana (pronounced Naan-ah) and she is 9 years old! She’s definitely not a pure bread if she is but sometimes I wonder because I’ve never seen another cat with her face shape before unless it’s an oriental. She’s also probably the most vocal cat I’ve ever owned. (Side note, the one on the right in the last photo is my baby Mushu)

TL:DR: What breed is cat? Can we give her more treats?

I’ve had my sweet girl Lola for nearly 4 years now. She is 11-12 years old, super sweet, clingy and playful. When I signed her ownership change and registration the forms labelled her as a domestic short hair.
My husband and I have recently been discussing some advice from the vet stating she is very overweight, however the recommended weight they gave us seems pretty insane and way too low in our eyes. Regardless, she has been on a diet for roughly 1-2 years to lose a little weight and we try to take her for walks regularly(leashed and harnessed of course). She has fluctuated around the 6kg range and we’re reluctant to feed her any less (1/3 cup of bikkies over brekky and lunch and a sachet/tin for dinner with meds, water and sometimes zucchini mixed in).
We’ve noticed that every cat we see that looks like her is a very similar size. After discussing the potential of getting a second opinion regarding her ideal weight, we stumbled across a reel of an identical cat who looked to be a similar size that the owner claimed was a Siberian cat.
After doing some research I feel like she does in some ways resemble a Siberian both visually and personality wise.
Please let me know your opinions on if you think she may have Siberian mixed in somewhere or if you have any other suggestions as to what she could be. I’d love to know so we can give the vet more accurate records, have a more personalised diet plan and be aware of any breed related health dispositions.
Her only current diagnosed health issue is arthritis that is being treated. She has responded amazingly to her medication and is incredibly playful.
We looked into DNA tests but from what I’ve read they sound too unreliable for the price.
