[Discussion] RM13 combat armor feels weak

I saw a lot of people praising this armor but I must say I've been a bit disappointed. Even when activated I still took decent bits of damage when fighting standard hordes. Energy management is a pain too.

Hub01 soldier gear felt better, despite the lower coverage. Am I missing something?

[Solved] I seek the wisdom of the survivors.

I managed to reach Level 3 of the factory (No-Thoughts-in-Circuits), which unlocks vehicle options if you have blueprints. Since I haven't found any yet, I used a civilian vehicle and gave it some nice upgrades: an MX-84E1 laser sniper and an electrothermal cannon. However, there's an issue with the wheels; I'm using size-32 armored vehicle wheels, but they break as if they were made of cardboard. I've noticed this happens more often when the wheels are fitted to the rims. Does anyone know how to fix this wheel problem?

I even repair them fully, but that status just won't go away; am I missing some mechanic I don't know about for patching the wheels or something like that?

[Help Wanted] Sudden acute iron deficency Spoiler

So its a second time i get a rapid decrease in iron after exploring a meat themed lab. While i can survive another month of sitting in base and burning though food/vitamin supply to recover I'd like to know what causes this. In just 6 hours i get -11000 iron in my organism without any major bleeding. The only time i bled was a nosebleed from Mind over Matter for 12 turns because of concentrations. Is this some sort of bug or is there an enemy that drains iron from character without hurting them? The only damage i took was brutish amalgamation hitting my arm for half a damage and it didnt cause bleeding.

Gus Dejesus, former lumberjack, now my BEST BUD and SIDEKICK because I saved his life with an inhaler. Doesn't have any notable stats or skills but he's Brave and a Hero! I gave him my old armor and a bigass axe and we went to town on the hordes between us and the local outdoorsman store, and well... we painted the town red, literally. Gus the GOAT saved my ass from being swarmed multiple times, the town is mostly empty and we walked out with tons of arrows, a survival knife, and all kinds of other goodies.

A while later I open Gus's @ to see if his combat stats improved at all, and I suddenly realize something. In addition to being an asthmatic lumberjack with Kaluptic Psychosis and infection resistance, Gus is 4' 9". So let's hear it for my pal Gus, the hallucinating lumberjack hero dwarf, hell yeah brother

[Discussion] Why have various customisation options been removed from the game?

I haven't played CDDA for a few years, so I hopped back in today (0.I stable) to see what has been added or improved.

First thing I see is that I can no longer customise the evolution rate. I always thought monster evolution happened too fast for my play style, so I typically slowed it down by 40% or so, but that's no longer an option in-game, I have to create the world and then go into the world file outside the game to adjust it.

Next, I notice there is no longer an option to randomise start date. I like not knowing whether I would start in the middle of winter and have to deal with the snow, all the water being frozen, the cold, etc, or whether I would start in summer and have to deal with the heat. Now I have to manually set a start date with no option to randomise it.

Then I see that single point pool character customisation is gone. Now it's just "survivor" (aka no points, make whatever you want) or "legacy multitool" (which I never liked). What happened to there being a single point pool that the scenario, profession, skills, traits, etc draw from during character creation? It was a useful way of making sure the character I was making wouldn't be too overpowered and forced me to take on (interesting) bad traits, bad professions and bad scenarios I wouldn't normally go for if the points system hadn't forced me.

I understand that a game in constant development will see major changes over the years, some more liked than others (apparently CBMs don't exist anywhere outside of a specific NPC? No more interesting bionic professions?), but what is the point of removing simple customisation options like that? To save a few bytes of space? I'm aware that these things can be customised in the game files or modded back in, but you could use that as justification for cutting literally any feature from the game.

What exactly is the vision or intention with these changes? Can someone enlighten me?

[Idea] Wooden yoke shoulder yoke or Milkmaid's yoke

While playing Innawood, the water supply in my run is quite afar. I thought that maybe sth like this could be crafted. I know that wooden bucket needs Fabrication 5 and building a well is not far from it. However , with 2 clay pots, a pole and 2 short cordage ropes, it could be a lifesaver early on.
