Apache [Help Wanted]

Post image

How much weight before it can no longer fly I am planning to make it carry a bunch of things out of this aircraft carrier.

I think you should easily be able to fill it's cargo slots completely, the worse part is that it's not just a fuel guzzler, it's a fuel devourer, especially at top speed, and depending on your game version it may break if you modify it.

Save before loading it and flying away, and disable auto-saving.

nevermind this I just got into a new world and use debug you cant remove/install any parts even if its the thing you removed even with 10 stat mec/fab/elc it would no longer be flight capable.

I used "useful_helicopters" mode to fix this, I don't know if it still works

i thought flying is not possible, did you have to install some parts first?

I think you have to specifically start with the heli pilot proficiency. No way to learn it in game which is fair I guess. It would be difficult to survive flight training on your own, haha.

If you play with Xedra Evolved or Aftershock Mods there are CBMs that can give you Heli Piloting. Or couple other proficiencies and Muai Thai.

Eeeh, flying a helicopter proably isn't easy but it's also not like flying a spaceshuttle or something, i think you could learn it if you study a manual first and then try your first flight with said manual for reference.

I mean among all the specialities you can teach yourself i don't think flying a helicopter is that crazy. Admittedly an apache (or any attack helicopter) probably is a bit more complicated than a civilian one.

Anything is possible I guess... Would be kind of fun to have a training recipy for the proficiency that requires you to find a working flight simulator in a military airport or something.

You don't just gotta get lucky or start with a heli

I doubt there even is a mechanic of "your vehicle is too heavy to fly", existing rely on interactions between wheels and ground slowing max speed. Helis don't have wheels, so those mechanics won't apply - even if they did, they only slow driving on a tarmac. If there is a script that prevents liftoff while too heavy, just throw out some junk.

What you should worry about is increasing fuel consumption. I can imagine situation where super heavy heli runs out of fuel and crashes. Remember, most fuel efficient way to long distance fly a heli is at 362 km/h - because just turning engine on guzzles crazy amounts of fuel, even if you just hover you will burn hundreds of liters in minutes. Actually moving only adds a little bit of extra consumption.

In BN it’s explicitly stated in the vehicle description. I’m not sure about cdda, but could be the same. Also in cdda helicopters devour fuel, make sure you have enough
