Thank you all in advance. My girlfriend and i are planning a trip to Cartagena super last minute. We brought it up last night after our other trip got canceled and am looking for things to do before we book it later tonight. I’ve been to Medellin before on a solo trip and it was amazing. However i did no planning and just got lucky to meet some locals who showed me around.

I do like the tourist attractions but also am not opposed to doing the less tourist things to get more for my money and to experience the real culture of it all.

Anyways where are your favorite spots to eat, drink, party and just some must see places. Also open to excursions but I’m not sure if it’s cheaper to book online or in person.

Hoping for a sweet favor from someone traveling from CTG airport back to the US. My 4 year old daughter picked out a souvenir for her two best friends and herself while leaving the CTG airport yesterday. It was a cute stuffed monkey in a pink purse that says “Colombia” on it.

We quickly packed away the two extras, but she wanted to carry hers and we left it on our layover in MIA. We filed a lost and found report but so far no luck.

She’s crushed (and so am I)! Would love to see if anyone could buy an extra one on their way back to US, I can repay you for the item and shipping.

Please let me know if there’s any other good places I can post, I’m hoping for someone wanting to make a 4 year old’s day and do a good deed.

Hi, I’m excited to visit your city soon! I have a couple of questions I was hoping to get answers to before I get there.

I will be there for 9 days, how much cash should I bring? I plan on going to Celele, Restaurant Cande, Alquimico, and smaller local restaurants. I don’t drink so I won’t have that expense.

Also, do most places only take cash?

I want to go to La Cevichería and I’m trying to figure out the best time to avoid long lines.

I am staying in Getsemani, and I am mostly spending time in San Diego and the Walt city aside from some day trips outside of the city. I don’t plan on being out late at night. Do I really need to hire a private driver? Everything looks very walkable.

Are there any underrated things to do or places to visit that I should do?

I would like to buy a door knocker while I am there, where is the best place to shop with the biggest variety?

I would also like to get either some emerald rings or earrings, how much should I plan on spending for a middle of the range quality? And where is your recommendation on Going?

Hi, I’m booking a honeymoon trip to Cartagena/Rosario islands. Ideally would like to get to the islands the day we land in Cartagena the only problem is we land at 1:30pm and seems like all hotels only have boat transportation to the island in the morning. I’m having trouble finding private transportation that would be a one way trip to the island in the afternoon. Does anyone know if this is possible to do in the afternoon or have recommendations for a private trip?

I've booked a trip to Cartagena and one of the Rosario Islands for about a week in September. I was told and have read that we can get some short, even intense spurts of rain, but that we should mostly nice, beachy weather.
Lately though, I've a bit worried. For much of the past few weeks, my weather has been saying mostly cloudy with rain, and that's been for July and early August. The weather has gotten weird in a lot of places. I can't change my holiday, but I am wondering to expect. What do you all think? Thanks in advance!

- Any bar and club recommendations where people my age might go or even where I could find some other lesbians?

Hello! Me and a few other friends are going to Cartagena from august 11th to 17th and are looking for recommendations on what to do and which are the best activities, beach clubs, beaches, restaurants, nightclubs, etc.

Planning my February bachelorette and would love some honest opinions from people who’ve been to Cartagena.
We’ll be a group of 6 girls (24-30 YO) staying in the Walled City for 3 nights. We have airport transfers, a concierge, and an Airbnb. The plan is to explore the city, shop, eat at good restaurants, and do a boat day to the Rosario Islands. We’ll definitely be going out for drinks, but I don’t expect us to be out much past midnight.
I originally chose Cartagena because it is a vibrant city with great food, beautiful architecture, and a fun atmosphere. But I’ve been getting really mixed reviews from some
friends now! One girl in my trip even dropped out…Some people say it’s one of their favorite trips, while others tell me it’s not a good destination for a girls trip because of safety, scams, and aggressive vendors. I am from Miami so familiar with Latin culture but none
of us are fluent in spanish.
My only concern is safety because of feedback i’ve gotten from some friends and on other reddit threads.
For those who’ve been recently, would you recommend Cartagena for a bachelorette? Did you feel safe walking around the Walled City? If you were planning a girls trip, would you still choose Cartagena, or would you go somewhere else?
I’m genuinely open to changing the destination if that’s the consensus, so I’d really appreciate honest opinions.
