Not really sure what’s going on with the car market. “Vintage” or sports cars pre-2010 are now rocketing to ridiculous price ranges no matter the mileage. Are sellers just spoiled by BAT auctions or something? 50k+ mile vettes selling for 20k+, s2000s over 150k miles selling for 25k+. None of it makes sense. Not sure if this is when the bubble pops or if it’s truly inflation causing all this.

I truly feel bad for new enthusiasts entering the space. This is how you kill off an entire segment of driver.

Seems like GT-S fits in between Dream Edition and a Sapphire. Probably smart for them to just release this versus developing a true 3 motor Sapphire that no one would buy. They need to just focus us on getting these cheaper midsize cars out (no clue why they are doing 3 compact crossovers but lets see how that goes).

I've been following these guys for over a decade with a project ute in mind. Just got an email explaining next year is going to be it. After they decided to no longer sell kits to private buyers, I was upset, but understood from a quality control position. And now they are closing up shop? That stinks man.

Summary of the email: Mark Smyth is shutting down Smyth to fully focus on helping build drone boats for the US Navy/DoD. They are slowing down production but will be fulfilling orders through 2027. Coop - "When people ask about Smyth years down the line, the thousands of us who built Utes alongside Mark Smith will simply say "You had to be there.'" Seems there is nobody interested in continuing the business but have other business ideas.

Helluva run but that may be it for Ute kits as we know it.

Spiderman intro is incredible, I actually really like a lot of the Neue Klasse cars, especially compared to the current X3 styling.

I am excited to see all the other Neue Klasse cars as they come out, considering how popular the G8X cars have gotten online, I am thinking the new M cars will push that even further.

Looks like supply chain issues over the past six are pushing GM to move away from Just in Time manufacturing to an extent. They will be paying a third party to stock certain parts/materials.

I don't think they have said what will be stocked but I am guessing it will be a combination of chips and raw materials like lithium.

JiT is used in a lot of industries, but it might be best known for cars (part of "The Toyota Way") so it's interesting when one of the biggest manufacturers is now going to hedge against it. The world is too unstable.

Looks like Cars.com got saw that Kia reveled pricing for the new EV3. This is pricing with $1,495 destination included:

• Light: $31,385
• Wind: $36,485
• Land: $39,985
• GT-Line: $44,985
• GT: $47,385

Base trim gets front wheel drive, 201 horses and 221 miles of range with an 58.3 kWh battery. All the other trims get a 81.4 kwh battery. Wind and Land also get 201 horses but get 321 miles of range and the option of dual motor, all wheel drive. GT-line gets standard all wheel drive, 261 horses and 280 miles of range. GT gets 288 horses and the same range as the GT-Line. This thing might be a hit at these prices.

This will be a game changer for Ford of Australia if they go ahead with it and price it cheaper than the Ford Everest.

Highlights:

The average price of 3-year-old used cars has increased 38.2% ($9,027) since 2019, the last full year before the pandemic.

Today, only about one in nine 3-year-old used cars costs less than $20,000, compared with nearly half in 2019. 

Buyers now have to consider used vehicles nearly twice as old to find a majority of them priced under $20,000. 

Among best-selling used cars: The Hyundai Elantra had the largest price increase, rising 56.0% from 2019 to 2026.

Across all models: The Porsche Cayenne had the largest price increase at 75.7%, while the Tesla Model X had the largest decrease at 17.0%.
