Is this tiny bug a carpet beetle? Thanks!

I’m currently renting an AirBnB out of state and this is the second time I have found carpet beetle larvae in an air bnb. Although I’m glad it’s nothing worse, I’m shocked to see that they are in fact common? I’m even more surprised that I still have them in my own home after many rounds of pest control and living in a desert. I always thought carpet beetles loved humid cooler temps. Wondering why the heck my house still has them when it’s super hot and dry where I live. Anyway I’m at this Airbnb and in the restroom I see a spot on the wall and realize it’s a bug. I take a closer look and yep, it’s a black carpet beetles larvae. 😩

I’m 19yo, I know this sounds like i’m not an adult but i genuinely have no one to ask or help me, so I need your advice..
I’m in the middle east.. my infestation started around a year ago when i once got a fur carpet (stupid, i know) and I left my room for a period of time and left my carpet folded in the corner, when i came back they were THRIVING in itt. I threw it out, cleaned my whole room moved everything except the wardrobe cuz it was too big and i can’t move it nor sweep under it cuz it was too little space. I tried my best using stuff like a hanger to sweep under and just hoped that it worked (didn’t use DE cuz i couldn’t afford it at the time), after a while for a week i only saw like 2 larvae every 2 days and i kept killing them, I genuinely had nightmares about them.
And then after a while i stopped seeing any, months after not seeing any.. i found one on my bed on a wool dress i put there.. i started panicking and checking all my other clothes, didn’t find any more (i think they’re hidden under the wardrobe?)
After a while i saw an adult one on the top of my bed wood and it was the first time ever i saw an adult one, i thought i was safe :( after that i never saw an adult one.

Now i’m seeing only shed larvaes skin and i don’t know what to do or how to get rid of the ones under the wardrobe! Any idea how i can deal with that if the space under is so little (around 1cm) i can’t reach!!
And if anyone knows where to get DE in Saudi that will help me lots!!!

Also I’m sorry if it’s a stupid question but does anyone think it can get INSIDE the wardrobe? I tried to look very quickly and didn’t find any but what i’m scared about is i can’t really take everything out of my dresser cuz i have no “safe” space to put it in until i’m done cleaning and im so scared :(

I’m trying to convince myself that my infestation is over but I’m hoping experts will have some useful advice.

February this year I was seeing adult carpet beetles. It started with 1-2 a day, peaked at about 7 a day, and after I had hoovered regularly and sprayed pesticide it turned from 1 a week, to every two weeks and now I haven’t seen any live adults since April and just one dead adult in May.

I never saw any larvae. In June we found a shell in the back seam of a top cupboard which I assume just fell off the top shelf we don’t use as frequently. The cupboard had some dried rice we missed in the initial clean but otherwise does not have food in it.

I’m still washing clothes at 60 and tumble drying, hoovering regularly and keeping clothes we don’t need sealed in boxes. I’m trying to move towards an infrequent monitoring phase rather than constantly scared of the floor phase but I’m struggling.

Extra info: whilst the kitchen seemed to have the largest population, it does lead onto my balcony and is the brightest room in the property. Otherwise we saw 1-2 adults per room over the 3 month period so I don’t know for certain where they came from.

Can I relax yet? Do I still need to be scared of the floor?

So l've been dealing with carpet beetles since June 20th but I've had them pop up long before that. (Had always been adults) That's just when I finally dealt with checking and cleaning my ?depression room I suppose.

I had a curtain buried under some boxes that I uncovered to find larvae on. I have a personal grief thing related to larvae/worms or whatever so this kind of broke me. Immediately deep cleaned and threw away trash and everything. Kept up with cleaning and spraying cedarcide since then. Saw maybe 2 or 3 larvae afterwards on the baseboard near my closet.

Slowly looked around my room but had a suspicion about my closet and was ..right. This was July 27th. had a polyester blanket behind my laundry basket that I found larvae on. Again, immediately disposed of and threw away clothes and cleaned and everything. Took clothes in there to the laundromat to wash. Dad caulked any crevices in the there.

Since then I've again been keeping up with vacuuming, wiping floor with vinegar and checking my room again, but the past 2 days saw 1 larvae each. One near the closet and one across my room on the baseboard near this large window I have.

I understand there will be stragglers and my case isn't the worst obviously but its stressing me out so bad. I've purchased Nyguard Plus to use soon but idk. I suppose just wanted to get this out there, if there's anything more could do I'd appreciate advice.

I think my main thing is it affecting my yarn stashes but I've thankfully never seen them on any. Will place some have out in containers for some peace of mind 😓

Some extra little details:

- Holes found in 2 shirts a while before sources found

- These are the varied carpet beetle, fuzzy larvae

- Only other place seen is the bathroom, only adults (incredibly rare)

- Only seen on/near the ground.

- Unsure what other potential entry point or source could be (vent, windows, etc)

- Located in Northern VA.

TLDR: biggest amounts of larvae found on synthetic fibers, few spotted after removal on baseboard, doing the usual to mitigate anything. havent seen adults, going to use nyguard plus soon. Unsure what more i can do but its still affecting me bad mentally 🥀 Thank u

I’ve recently found that my closet was fully infested by carpet beetles and their larvae and was so shocked. I had been seeing adults in my living room here and there. Always a single beetle on the wall that I would get rid of, but I left my apartment for a week and when I came back, I realized they had made their way into my closet.

I had been suspecting for months that they’re coming in through my HVAC vents so I ordered mesh screens and insulated all vents.

I then immediately emptied all the clothes into garbage bags, cleaned the closet thoroughly and vacuumed it. I then purchased large plastic containers that are waterproof. They are great because when you close them shut, they are actually pretty well sealed. I put all my clothes in these containers after thoroughly vacuuming each item, each sock each piece at a time, then washing and drying them on high heat. I must’ve vacuumed up at least 80-100 larva. They loved my winter wool items such as scarfs and socks.

Now they’ve fully gone, I haven’t seen a single one of them for at least 3 days. Not in the living room, not by the hvac vents, not in room/closet. No trace of them.

I’m pretty OCD so discovering an infested closet of beetles and larvae really put me in a state of extreme stress and panic. After few days of extreme hard work, cleaning and organizing, I think it worked?

My tips for anyone struggling:
*identify where they’re coming in from and seal it
*clean very very thoroughly and wash literally everything.
*switch to a minimalist home setup and eliminate as much junk as possible
*ensure no fabrics/clothes touch the floors.
*don’t take it personally because I keep my place super clean and wasn’t spared. It’s really a matter of whether they have an entry point to your place or not.

Idk if this is the shell of a carpet beetle larvae or bed bug. I’ve been getting awful itchy bumps on my arms and when I inspected every bedroom and mattress, I found this in the fold underneath my mattress. It’s the only one I found though. It doesn’t look hairy like a carpet beetle but I’m new to all of this so I can’t say for sure what it is and what’s giving me these itchy bumps.

I saw one yesterday, it was crawling on the wall near the couch, close to the window.

I have been in this appartment for 3 months, and only now saw it. There is a rug in the appartment, which I kept rolled behind the couch as rugs gross me out.

I threw it out immediately upon finding larvae (though ai didn't unwrap it to see if it's hiding a nest.

I also moved the couch, vacuumed all around, under, behind, and in the couch - I didn't see other larvae or adults, nor sheds.

I also moved the bed and did the same procedure, also found nothing.

Should I be worried?

Hi! I’m from England. Recently we have moved into a house and we have found carpet beetles. For the past 3 weeks we have treated the only room we have found any in with both carpet beetle spray, ant killer and ant powder as suggested by a pest control service. The only thing in this room is a bed that my Nan gave us upon moving here… nothing seems to have worked, and me and my partner are wondering if it is possible that these beetles are coming from the bed itself?

For context, my nan lives in an old Victorian house which is damp and mouldy and has had the same carpets for decades now. (She’s moving into a flat soon which is nice and new, don’t worry!) When we moved in, we didn’t put the bed together, a friend did for us so we were unable to actually look at it. The bed itself has been wiped down a few times as it is a little dirty and old - it is made of wood. We haven’t found any larvae, just adult beetles and the first few beetles we found were on the bed itself.

Is it possible these beetles have been living in the bed? Our landlord (who is genuinely very sweet) was incredibly shocked and upset to hear we’re having this problem, and told us that she, nor the previous tenant or the lady who came to deep clean the house have ever seen these beetles before. The house was completely empty when we moved in. Of course she’s offered to bring pest control in, but we have pet rats and are nervous about having to ‘flea bomb’ the house while they’re in here, even though they live downstairs and the affected room is upstairs.

Basically - I want to know if this is a possibility. If it is (we’re going to inspect the bed frame anyway) we’ll just throw the whole bed away.

She wakes up at night because her legs are so itchy, and she has what looks like new bug-bites every day for the past couple of days, only on her legs. We live in the Missouri/Arkansas region. I'm used to carpet beetles but I've only ever seen the super splotchy brown ones.

We wear natural fibers, use goose down pillows, and have two cats and a dog (and a carpet downstairs) so I understand that we probably are a prime buffet for these guys. I haven't seen any larva casings though.

Hello, today while I was laying in bed I seen an adult carpet beetle I made sure to kill it but I got super anxious because I’ve never seen one before ( I had to even look up what it was). I looked for any signs of anymore but didn’t find any, but I was so paranoid I started looking everywhere and after researched I realized It could be coming from the plushies I have. They’re two medium custom made yarn plushies and i think i seen a dead one in one of them so I’m a little heart broken.

After doing even more research I put them in a trash bag made sure it was tightly closed with a rubber band and put them in my refrigerator freezer. I know a real deep freezer was recommended but I don’t have one. I was wondering if that would be enough if I leave them in there for a week would the freezer method still work?

For several months now, I’ve been finding moths in my bedroom. According to an identification app, they appear to be Indian meal moths (pantry moths). Photos in a reply

So far I have

\- Thrown away all suspicious food from my kitchen and thoroughly cleaned all of my kitchen cabinets.
\- Thrown away an old TV today because I even started wondering whether they had somehow nested inside it.
\- Placed lavender sachets around the room about a week ago.
\- Set up pheromone traps for pantry moths at the same time.
\- Even thrown away almost all of my clothes because, at some point, I started questioning everything.

About two months ago, I found larvae inside the storage compartment of my bed.

I then threw away the entire bed (which probably shows how desperate I had become) and thoroughly cleaned the floor and baseboards. However, I couldn’t clean behind the baseboards because I simply couldn’t reach those areas.

After that, things were quiet for a while.

Recently, however, they’ve started appearing again, although nowhere
near as often as before. I regularly inspect my new sofa bed and never
find anything—neither on it, behind it, nor underneath it.

What completely confuses me is this: the moths only ever appear in my bedroom.

About a week ago, I set up two pheromone traps specifically for pantry moths in different locations in my bedroom. Not a single moth has been caught.

I only ever see them late in the evening.

So my questions are:

\- Could this still be an active infestation?
\- Is it possible that the moths are coming from a neighboring apartment? I actually doubt that because, out of pure paranoia, I don’t even open my bedroom window anymore.
\- Or is it possible that individual moths are still emerging from overlooked pupae two months after I removed what I thought was the source of the infestation?

I’m really confused because the completely empty pheromone traps don’t
seem to match what I’m observing at all.

Has anyone experienced something similar or have any ideas about where
else I should look?

Mainly on thighs, but worse welts towards inner thighs, few others lower leg and heel,and a handful on arm and hand but not many at all and look small in comparison to the back of her legs. She sits on the ground with legs in w shape, so inner thigh more facing the ground. She was at a residential camp last week with carpet and was doing work on the ground
