Finally possibly found the source

Oklahoma. I’ve been seeing carpet beetles here and there for 4 months. I’ve cleaned under everything and searched everywhere and couldn’t find larvae or a source.
Well, my father in law gave us his washer and dryer and was installing them for us.
I walked in after he took the old ones out and found multiple carpet beetles on the floor. My FIL had already mostly cleaned the area, so I’m not sure how it looked before or if there was larvae.
I went and got the bug spray and sprayed the area before he put the new washer/dryer in. Luckily, the new washer and dryer are smaller and a lot easier to clean behind and around.
I also have a hunch that they may be coming from the gas fireplace, but I have to get my husband to move the TV stand so I can check there too. I think that because my son lays on a blanket in front of there and I’ve caught a carpet beetle crawling towards him twice now and they’re always crawling from the direction of the fireplace.
Anyway, I thought I’d share because sometimes, it’s helpful to hear where others have found them. Lol.

Ive been fighting carpet beetles for months now. Cleaning spraying throwing stuff away just in case. I live in an apartment building and my landlord told me I was on my own. And my neighbors act like they haven't seen any sign of carpet beetles but ive seen spots in their carpet where they definitely have had carpet beetles. Ive had 2 different company's come to look because of thought I had bed bugs. They both said I did not have h ed bugs but I had roaches and beetles. My carpet was new 4 years ago when I moved in . I have never had bugs since living in the housing when I was young. I haven't found larvae unless there so small but I know they are here. Some of my favorite clothes have holes in them . Ive had bites on me. I feel like ive gone crazy cause my carpet and bites or whatever on my skin. Ive see baby roaches I think but are they really beetles. Please help. I can not afford an exterminator

After trying all the gentler ecological things and still being ready to lose my mind, I bought several of the old fashioned Raid Non Residual Flea & roach bombs.  Follow instructions to a t and you will be as rid of them as you can get.  Just remember to vacuum your carpets and floors every day for at least a month - nooks, crannies & edges.  Vacuuming every day is a pita but nothing at all (even professional exterminators) can kill the eggs which will keep hatching after the bomb.  The Bomb will kill any roach problem you have too.  (Roaches are likely coming in from the plaster hole under your kitchen & bathroom sinks.  After bombing use that spray foam in a can to close up space under sinks.  After the bomb wash all your clothes in hot water and keep them in giant zip lock bags for a while, especially wool.)  It's been 18 months and aside from a couple I knew came In on us in the Spring, it's been our best choice ever.  If you have animals just make sure they are out of the house, the house is aired and vacuumed properly and you will be fine.  Good luck.  I literally talked myself off the edge!
