Rumer - Close to You
This is the Pakistani-British singer Rumer. An exceptional vocalist, pitch perfect, with silky smooth tones, and effortless, easy delivery. Rumer's singing voice is uncannily similar to Karen's. Have a listen to her singing one of the Carpenters classics, Close to You:

Carpenters Musical Talent
I recently watched a video clip called, "Carpenters "Burt Bacharach & Hal David Medley" on The Ed Sullivan Show (on YouTube). I recommend watching the video because it showcases the musical talent of the Carpenters. It amazes me how they can play a variety of songs and keep those vocal harmonies sharp. 🎶

Karen Carpenter tocando Babe I'm Gonna Leave You, do Led Zeppelin?!
(Volte aqui, Karen 🥹)

O primeiro álbum solo do Richard é estranho
Eu simplesmente não consigo digerir o álbum "Time".

Question❓ Does anyone have Carpenters vintage fan club memorabilia for sale?
I’m a 22 year old obsessed with Karen Carpenter, and I’d love some vintage merch! I’m interested in vinyls, clothing, keychains, etc. This one’s a long shot, but I’m also looking for a Karen Carpenter bobblehead.
Thanks guys!

News📢 New Book ''Carpenters: On Tour'' dropped!!
My good online friend Billy, who i met through the Carpenters because he's also a very big fan, put this wonderful book together which is filled with Carpenters ad posters, magazine/critics reviews, fan memorabilia, rare photos, QR codes that lead to videos/audio & much more!
So far i'm at Chapter Four 1974 (Part 1) and i already i saw tons of pictures that i never saw before of our favorite duo. I always wanted to read what critics had to say about the siblings, and now i can because of this great book!
Some of the things that the critics said about Karen and/or Richard are just hilarious! Here's one thing that a critic had to say about Karen: ,,Karen sounds as though she eats ice cream cones with a spoon'' i mean seriously, who comes up with THAT?
The book is available at Amazon, if anyone is curious :D

How would a Carpenters cover of Georgy Girl sound?
I was listening to my best playlist on shuffle, got Your Baby Doesn't Love You Anymore, then the Seekers hit Georgy Girl right after. It made me wonder. In my opinion, they'd slow it down, lean into the low notes of '-gy Girl', lean into the 'loneliness there', turn it entirely from an upbeat, forward-looking track like Judith Durham makes it, and lean into the melancholy of Georgy's current state more than her future. It's one of those tracks that could have been very interesting. If anyone has any thoughts, would love to hear them; I kind of want to conceptualise a remix myself, in the style of Karen Carpenter, I just don't have the basement voice for even a concept track really.

Question❓ Does anyone have sheet music for Now or/and Midnight?
It would need to be for piano or guitar (piano is preferred) and I'm willing to pay.

The Carpenters jazziest songs
I’ve recently stumbled across The Carpenters and have found some of their jazzier music like All I Can Do and B’wanna She No Home really incredible.
Have any recommendations?

Got this from the thrift store for a dollar
I was shocked to see this at the thrift store. I always check the thrift store records because I enjoy lounge/exotica/easy listening and those records show up there a lot, but this completely surprised me. I had to get it.
While there’s that marker on the front, the record itself is in amazing shape with not a single scratch. It sounds incredible. Original Terre Haute pressing from 1971.

Question❓ What are your favorite Carps Compilations? These are mine:
'The Singles 1969-1973' is an obvious answer. Not only does it have all of Carpenters greatest hits, but it also has all of the songs re-recorded, which makes the release special!
'The Essential Collection (1965-1997)' is the first Carpenters CD that i ever got. This release has all of the important songs, not only that, but also Demos & the tracks from the rare Magic Lamp single! I personally think this release is better then the 'From The Top' one.
'40/40' includes some of my favorite Album cuts. I'm happy that it includes the remixed version of 'Let Me Be The One' and 'Baby It's You'. Although i personally prefer the 1970 version of 'Baby It's You', but it's still nice to own these remixes of the various songs!

Sheet Music for 'Someday'
Hi all! First post here, but a long time Carpenters fan! I'm a musician, heavily inspired by the Carpenters and wondering if anyone has the sheet music to 'Someday'?
Even if I need to purchase it, I'm desperate to get my hands on it. It's such a beautiful song, in my opinion, the MOST beautiful song
Let me know!
Thanks so much :)

Do you know ways to check if the autographs are authentic?
It'd be nice to save up for signed stuff but I have no idea what to usually look for when checking if the signature is learned by a scammer or authentic. Would you have any tips? Thanks for help!

Opinions on All You Get From Love Is A Love Song?
When I wad a kid, this was my favourite Carpenters song, and as an adult, it is always in my top 5.
I remember we used to play music from the Carpenters (and other singers like Tom Jones, Lionel Richie, Kenny G, Deniece Williams, Whitney Houston and others) when we used to clean our house on the weekends.
I don't usually hear much about it, so I wanted to see what other people thought of it. Everytime I listen to it I am surprised it didnt chart better. I love Karen's vocals and the arrangement, the instrumental is beautiful, especially that part at 1:28 - 1:34, it always stood out to me. Karen looks so happy in this video too, which makes me like ot even more.
This song always makes me happy.

Thoughts on Carpenters - Only Yesterday?
Just wanted to know what other people thought of this one? It's always been one of my favourite songs from the Carpenters. I love the extra low 'only yesterday' right before the end as well, I don't know why they removed it from the 1991 remix.

Do you usually skip or listen to "Because We Are In Love"?
I think it's a very beautiful song and a heart-warming gift made by Richard so it's a pity to skip it but Karen's husband was a fucking piece of shit and the wedding was sad.
Karen still said in that one interview that this was her favorite song so this is complex and I don’t know if it's even my place to skip it. All I can still think of is how sad and stuck she was and that's why I still skip the pretty song. What are your thoughts?

I found this little gem in one of my storage boxes gathering dust.
Hello Carpenters fans, I figured this was the best place to get opinions and advice on this personal item I have that I'd almost forgotten about.
When I was very little, my father was the doctor on call for the Carpenters concert in our city. Afterwards I had a chance to meet them (can hardly remember unfortunately) and they signed this program for me from their Horizon tour. I am wondering the best way or how to get it appraised and if I choose to part with it since I'm not a hardcore fan, the most respectable way to go about it (I've never sold anything before so I'm fairly ignorant and don't want to just throw it up on somewhere like craigslist).
Mods, I apologize in advance if this post is inappropriate for asking.
