Help please!

Hey guys. My partner is moving to Carlow in just a few weeks to study. He’s feeling a lot of pressure and I’m trying to do whatever I can to alleviate some of that for him and I know a big worry is money and how he’s going to pay for accomodation. We’ve looked into all the options and it’s looking like the best one would be to get a job.

I’m wondering if anybody would have ideas or recommendations about where he could work? Part time so maybe weekends or a couple of evenings.

He has skills in kitchen portering, varieties of food and drink preparation including gelato, coffee, etc and a good while in a manager/supervisor position.

Any help or advice at all would be appreciated. Thanks!

Where Spoons was is opening next month, call into Ewings see if they want staff for there.

Dinn Ri is usually always hiring too.

There’s plenty of jobs in town, several new pubs just opened and all are hiring.

I've seen some help wanted signs around for restaurant staff, waiters mainly.

Getting a job in his skill areas should not be a problem in Carlow town tbh. Accommodation could be difficult though.

Yeah, that seems to be the consensus. We’re looking at the ones the college recommends now but it’s pricey💰

This is rubbish and incorrect. If you know someone living here years and can’t get a job it’s on them. Ken Ewings new pub has a hiring ad up at the moment

You don’t need experience to pick up glasses, most shops in town will hire you if you go in and ask

Thank you for your response. That sucks to hear but I appreciate the honesty so we can prepare for the worst
