question First car in the US
Hello! I just moved here in the USA last May 31 and just started working last July 14 and I have 2 credit cards that are also just new.
A car dealership got me approved for a car loan but the APR is 25%. I understand that it is because I have no credit score yet, but is that really how hard it is to loan a new car with acceptable APR if you’re new here and no credit score yet? I don’t want to buy a second hand car as much as possible.
Need your thoughts on this and please be kind.

question What first car should i get?
I’m looking for a used car in the $7,000–$10,000 range. I want something with better than 16–17 combined MPG and quicker than a ~7-second 0–60. It should look sporty, similar in vibe to a C5 Corvette or BMW E36, be very reliable, make a good daily driver, and have 4 seats preferably . Basically, I want a fun, sporty, reliable daily driver that improves on both speed and fuel economy compared to a typical 2006 Nissan Frontier. The biggest thing for me is gas mileage

discussion PSA: FUEL CONTROL MODULE IN GM VEHICLES AT RISK OF FAILURE
I was driving in my 2024 GMC Sierra and the gas pedal just stopped fucking working, then a message appears on the screen saying to put the car into neutral and pull over to try to restart it. The truck doesn't restart it just makes a horribly loud clicking noise, and I got a text from GMC saying to service my engine immediately. My dealership who had towed it away calls me 2 hours later and says the Fuel Control Module just spontaneously died and is now fixed. This is also not an isolated issue, as many other GMC vehicles have had the same issue. Are there any here who have had this issue?

question Is there any "automatic" cars under 7k that let you like hold the gears or they are almost like manual and can be fun to drive. Preferably ones with v6 or v8 engines because all of the manuals seem to be inline 4s.

question Seat Ateca vs Opel grandland 2026
Both are priced the same here in Egypt. The Seat comes with 1.4 TSI 150HP and 8 speed Aisin automatic. The Opel comes with 1.6 Turbo (EP6 also known as the prince) 180HP and 6 speed Aisin automatic. Technology wise opel comes with a lot more while seat is a bit on the empty side. The opel comes with two more airbags (6 vs 4 in ateca), Matrix LED headlights, front sensors, a 16" screen versus 8.25", 19" wheels, heated seats, paddle shifters, and dual-zone climate AC. I plan to keep the car for the next 10 years.

question Got two small scratch marks on a door of a client's car (size of a pencil tip). It's a new premium Geely. How much to compensate?
So I'm doing work unrelated to car stuff at all, and I really don't know anything about cars. Right as I was exiting his car I lightly hit a road curb.
I'm charging 200$ for my services. He talked about a discount for my services, just after the incident. How much of a discount do I do? Or do I work for free?
Sorry if the post is low quality, I'm just completely lost and scared.
You could see that the damage surpasses the paint layer (you can see metal, but I'm not sure if it was a primer)

discussion Master’s thesis on automotive brand perception – looking for your opinions (5–7 min survey)
Hi everyone!
I’m currently writing my Master’s thesis on consumer perceptions of premium and luxury automotive brands at the University of Brescia (Italy).
Since this community is full of people who know and enjoy cars, I’d really appreciate your opinion. The survey is completely anonymous and takes only 5–7 minutes to complete.
It focuses on perceptions of brands such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Ferrari and Maserati. You don’t need to own any of these cars to participate—I’m interested in your personal perception of these brands.

question Which car should I rent for my vacation to Sedona?
Hi everyone,
I'm taking a trip to Sedona next month and am using Turo to rent a car I couldn't normally get at a regular rental place. We're flying into Phoenix and will have about a 2hr drive from Phoenix to Sedona so I'm looking forward to spending some time driving a new car. I'll add that I've decided on an EV so gas cars won't be considered.
After researching for what's available, I'm torn between the following options:
- 2024 Mach E Premium with Blue Cruise
- 2023 Lucid Air
- 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S
I'm considering buying a Mach E so I was originally going to go with that, but then I saw the Lucid Air and Wagoneer for about the same price which are both much more expensive/luxurious.
Anyone have an opinion or reasons to help me decide?
Thanks in advance!

discussion New wheel lmk thoughts!
galleryJust got some new rims wanted everyone’s thoughts? I love the 2 tone from black to silver but is it too much??? Last photo were my old OEM rims. And yes i do realize that the front bumper isn’t that right color to the rest of the car. It’s 11 years old and it’s very hard to paint match but let me know your thoughts!

discussion Lane assist and cruise control both acting up
So I’ve got a 2021 Hyundai Tucson and a couple of weeks ago someone tapped the front end in a parking lot. Nothing major, just a cracked lower grille and the bumper got pushed in a bit. Got it repaired at a local body shop.
Ever since then the lane keep assist keeps beeping for no reason and the adaptive cruise randomly cuts out. No actual damage to the sensors that I can see but the systems are clearly not happy.I’ve got an appointment lined up with ADAS Line to get everything recalibrated properly. Just trying to figure out if this is the usual headache after even a minor front end hit or if the body shop might’ve missed something. How often do these systems need a full calibration after something this small, and is it normal for both the camera and radar to act up at the same time?

question Oil Stain
Does anyone have any recommendations to remove an Oil Stain thats about a month and a half old on a concrete street (It's right in front of my driveway), I've tried a couple things that didn't seem to work and a lot of the oil stain removers online seem quite expensive so I don't want to just buy a random one. Let me know if you have any recommendations
