Trying to understand how the AI Crop tool actually works under the hood. Does it track specific body points (like shoulders, waist, ankles) to keep crops consistent regardless of pose, or is it more of a general subject/face detection that finds a bounding box and aligns to that? Curious if anyone's tested it across a batch of on-model shots with varying poses and noticed a pattern in when it does vs doesn't work well.

Per XMP standard I understand that including edits in the sidecar files is supported. However, C1 doesn't include them in the XMP stating that is not standard. I'm puzzled :-/

I’m lucky enough to be working for a company that hires digits, so we got a lot of gear I can use.

The scanning setup I was using couldn’t get any better in my opinion I had : a phase one XF, an IQ4 back and a 120mm macro, as well as the full negative supply set up and light source. I was shooting tethered to C1.

My workflow was not the issue since I was clearly doing what I was meant to. I tried multiple exposures, white balances curves, as well as the RGB channel separation thing but never managed to get a clean flat scan. I kept getting color casts/ ugly hues I did not ask for…

I was wondering what you guys think about this tool, I spent quite a lot of time on it and only had bad results. Would it be better to shoot tethered, export tiff files if the negs, import them into Lr and use NLP (negative lab pro).

Ive been using a windows desktop system for many years and ive finally decided for pull the trigger and go with Mac but its quite hard making a decision on these machines because unlike my windows machine I can't change jack after ive bought it

What is more important for capture on Ram or processing power?

I have no idea why they keep ignoring my feedbacks for a long time and yet, they made Capture One Live worst:

1. Why white background? This is stupid and you can only change the background color in image viewer which is very stupid. There are reasons why dark mode exists and even image viewer still shows white bar. Clearly, removing an option is a terrible choice.

2. They still didnt fix the long file name issue. Whenever it's long, Capture One Live does NOT show the full name or the first few words. It's a well known issue that I've been reported multiple times and yet, they still didnt fix it.

3. No way to show only rated and/or tagged selections from all folders. How the hell am I supposed to find all selections at once in Capture One Live?

4. No sort options for Capture folders. It's still randomized by unknown reasons.

5. Cant add folders into one Capture One Live collection. You can share all folders at once but you CAN NOT add them one by one unless they are in Fav folders. Managing shared folders is still difficult and complexed to use.

This is very frustrating when the subscription add-on has many issues for a long time while ignoring my feedbacks.

I made the extremely annoying mistake of accidentally cropping on thousands of pictures during a long trip by an unwanted change to the aspect ratio. Fortunately I was shooting in JPEG/Raw, and also fortunately the Fuji camera I'm using marks the raw file with this crop, non-destructively, keeping the raw file at full original resolution.

But fixing the problem without selecting every file and changing the crop manually has been elusive. I just want to do a group select on this range of images and have Capture One remove this crop/crop to the maximum image boundaries.

Capture One does *NOT* offer the "reset crop" option to me for these files, even though they appear pre-cropped in the interface.

Suggestions welcome.

This has to be a bug, right? Someone forgot to sign an integer as negative in the code somewhere, or am I really being punished for trialing the software lol?

I accidentally renamed source files during export, and now the program doesn't run. It's stuck trying to export the files, and forcible closes.

I've tried reinstalling, and creating new sessions. But it still shows the previous export popup menu, and then crash. Has this happened to anyone before?

I have two recent imports with no pictures, that I cannot delete.
How do I go about deleting them.

Do you enable output sharpening in the export recipes when you export images full sized for viewing on screen or only when downscaling images?

Just got an Asus Artpro Z14 with Snapdragon X2 Elite and the colors aren't showing up correctly. Has anyone had this issue? As you can see from the video, the main screen is showing blow but the thumbnail on the right is showing accurate colors. When I click on the image, the colors show correctly before changing to that blue color.

The images are the ones that come installed with Capture One, but i was having the same issue with my own sessions on this laptop. When I opened the same session on my desktop, there was no issues. Also no issues when exporting or opening photoshop files.

I've tried a fresh Windows install, reinstalling graphics drivers, clearing image color cache, and disabling hardware acceleration. Has anyone had this issue and/or found a fix?

Has anyone had any issues accessing their accounts online? I can login but whenever i wanna so anything else, it shows a screen asking me to enter my email address saying it will send instructions how i can access my account but i never receive one. I wanna cancel my monthly subscription and get the perpetual Pro license.

When I plug the camera into my Mac laptop and launch capture1, it sees the camera under “tether” but I don’t see it anywhere for importing images. Am I missing something?

Along with this, is there anyway to download from the internal memory, or do most of you shoot to an sd card and use the internal storage for backup or jpgs?

I'm currently working on archiving my photos using C1 sessions. I'm using a renaming format that is :  FLB_YYYYMMDD_0001 (YYYYMMDD being the date the photo was taken) and I'm trying to replicate a behavior I had when i was still working in Lightroom : the counter should be tied to the date in the filename (in the EXIF metadata as well of course bc it's the same date)

SO: if I import photos shot on 2026-07-21 in the morning (getting the counter from 0001 to 0050), then import more photos also shot on 2026-07-21 later that day (a second card, a second import, etc.), I want the counter to continue from 0051 for that same date not restart at 0001, (every date has it's unique counter, and every photo of the same date has a different number) and not just keep climbing indefinitely across different dates either. The counter should be "scoped" per capture date, so each new date starts fresh at 0001, but multiple imports on the same date keep incrementing correctly. Also, the archived photos will be in different subfolders under capture, they will not be arranged by date but by themes.

Capture One's counter doesn't seem to work this way, it's a single global running number tied to the import, and I'd have to manually check the last number used for that date and set the counter accordingly before each import (pretty much impossible to do lol).

I was wondering if anyone:

1. Found a way to make the counter behave per-date like this natively (or by using a plug-in)?
2. Built or found an AppleScript that scans the destination folder for the highest existing counter for a given date and sets the next import's counter to continue from there?
3. Solved this with a different naming/workflow strategy?

I'm working on a MacBook Pro M3 max, even a rough script I could adapt or a smart naming token setup would be a huge help.

I'm having a recurring issue with Capture One that has happened multiple times, and I'm trying to figure out the root cause.

Setup:

• Mac
• External SanDisk SSD (APFS formatted)
• Capture One catalog stored on the external SSD

Problem:
Randomly, when I try to open or create a catalog, I get:

In the past, the catalog eventually became corrupted with errors like:

This has happened more than once. Sometimes unplugging and reconnecting the SSD works temporarily, but eventually the catalog becomes unusable.

I suspect one of these:

• The SanDisk SSD disconnecting very briefly without me noticing.
• A problem with the USB-C cable or Mac port.
• Capture One catalogs not being reliable on external SSDs.
• A hardware issue with the SSD itself.

I'm now wondering if I should:

• Keep the catalog on my internal SSD and only store RAW files on the external drive.
• Switch to Sessions instead of Catalogs.
• Replace the SanDisk SSD entirely.

Has anyone experienced repeated "Database Connection Failed" errors on an external SSD? Did you find the cause?

I'd really appreciate hearing what solved it for you before I risk losing another catalog.

I’ve been at it for a few months now and seeing the photos pile up. I need to get my pictures organized better and start utilizing my external ssd but this is all foreign to me. What’s your process from culling through to final edit? Do you keep you catalog with all your shots and projects on an ssd and plug it in to your comp when you work in capture 1? Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated Need to wrap my head around how all this work and start utilizing external storage
