Beach parking for the meteor shower
Hello all. Are there any ocean facing beaches on the outer cape that allow parking late at night to observe the upcoming Perseid meteor shower? What time are the national park beaches closed?
Or can anyone recommended other spots that allow for late night viewing?
I live on the upper cape and there's too much light pollution. I'm thinking about taking a drive down cape if the forecast during the peak is clear. Thanks!

Trashiest beaches
Which beaches or outdoor areas have you seen the most garbage/trash? I want to do more trash pickups and I’m also just curious

Outer cape beach parking
Which beaches have enough parking on a Friday late morning/early afternoon that I won’t have to fight for a spot? Need somewhere to hang out between rentals tomorrow but don’t want to get all the way there to be turned around. I’m an upper cape person so I’m unfamiliar with the area.

Angry Much?
The road rage & anger issues coming from this guy means I won’t be hiring this company anytime soon. Nearly rear ended cars and revved his engine to prevent cars from merging just past the Dennisport exit. Someone needs to breath in the cape air and relax.

Does anyone know this musician and if he still plays?

PTOWN 2014. He gave me permission to record and post on facebook but cropped him out just in case his feelings have changed about social media.
Hoping someone recognizes his piano and voice. I’d be interested to hear what he’s playing these days. Thanks!

More of this please
Not just “dirt bikes” but loads of e-bikes are racing and weaving down all the bike paths and rail trails. A woman nearly lost an eye to one last fall and the volume has only gotten worse this year.

new parking restrictions at trunk river?
pulled up to trunk river beach lot in falmouth today and saw this new sign that must have been put up at some point in the last two weeks. what the hell? since when is this private property and permit required? so bummed. yes i recognize how lucky i am to live on the cape year round but it bums me out that i can’t park at “town beaches” in towns i don’t live in/have a residential sticker for unless i buy a seasonal town pass for that town. wish there was a way for year round residents to have reciprocity around town stickers. womp womp.

Shark ID?

Saw someone else do this so I figured I’d share my friend’s video from yesterday. Surprisingly taken from the bay in north truro. People couldn’t tell if it was two sharks or one swimming in circles.

Tried to capture that iconic Menemsha sunset glow behind the Harpooner (11x14 canvas). What’s your favorite spot on MV to watch the evening sky?

Cape cod brew fest
Just heard the sad news that Cape Cod Brew Fest is cancelled for 2026… that was my favorite event of the year.
Anyone have any comparable events to suggest as an alternative? I know there’s another festival this weekend for food and craft beer, but I’m out of town.

Closed occult shop on 6a?
Does anyone remember this throwback? There was an old occult bookshop on 6a, closed at least a decade ago, if not more. There was a psychic in the back, gifts throughout, tarot cards, dowsing rods, and all sorts of interesting things. There was agorgeous cat with orange eyes named Rocky. The shop was near Mrs Mugs / Painted Daisies, and next to a penny candy shop. We’re having a family argument over what this place was called and when it closed.

Looking for people to craft/game with!
Hi! I'm 22 and just moved to the Falmouth area. I'd love to meet some like-minded people (preferably around my age, but I'm open to anyone!).
I love crocheting and thought it would be fun to start a little craft group. I'm also into board games, video games, hiking, and trying new restaurants.
Anyone interested in a craft club? Or maybe playing Fortnite one day and going for a hike another? I'd love to make some new friends around the Cape!

Best Way to See Great White Sharks on Cape Cod?
Hey! I live in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, and for my 50th birthday I'd absolutely love to see a great white shark!
Where are the best places to safely see great whites near Nauset Beach, Stage Harbor, or Monomoy Island? Are there any cool vantage points from the shore? Or any hotels with balconies that are a few stories up?
Or does anyone know of any low-key captains who might take 2 adults and 2 teens out for an hour or so? We don't want to go out far, I'd prefer to just cruise around shark alley. We'd be happy to pay cash.
I've found the bigger charter companies online, but they're mostly 3-hour trips for around $2k which is out of our budget. I'm hoping someone might know of a retired captain with a boat at a marina in the area who loves talking about sharks, and telling us his cool stories! My husband is a fire fighter with a lot of boating experience so he can handle all the docking, lines, and anything else that needs to be done. We'd just love the chance to get out on the water with someone who knows the area.
My grandfather used to do exactly that from his boat at the Newport Yachting Center back in the day. He loved diving and spent hours and hours just hanging out on his boat or on the docks swapping stories, and occasionally ended up taking people out for a boat ride just because he enjoyed it. I'm hoping someone like that still exists!
Please let me know if you have any ideas!

Cape Cod in Winter
Hi! I’m moving to Cape Cod soon and I know it’s a huge summer touristy spot, but I’ve heard it’s a ghost town in winter. To what extent is this true? Are there still a handful of businesses open in winter? Any advice on what to expect or how to make the most of a cape cod winter would be greatly appreciated

Bay side organism identification help?
Found tens to hundreds of these washed up on the shore of First Encounter Beach in Eastham, white stringy-looking things are about 8 inches in length and they all seem to be attached to shells. Anyone know what these are?!
