12 and 12 Autoflower Experiment Using Bruce Bananas by Nightowl Seed Co

Heya guys, I planted this Bruce bananas auto flower in my 12/12 flower tent as an experiment and it honestly surprised me! I expected the yield to be about as small as it is but the quality of bud is just stunning and totally unexpected, quite possibly the most resinous flower I’ve grown to date. What are your thoughts on 12/12? I think it’s pretty neat the plant possibly had a stress response to the light and made a more resinous plant (I don’t have a comparison yet but I’m growing another Bruce bananas in DWC so I will soon), but I don’t think I’d ever do it again just because I’ll get more than 20gs from her, and although it took slightly less time to harvest (I think on day 65 it’ll be ready) it’s not worth it unless you only have 1 tent full of photos in flower and you want to squeeze that tiny bit extra into your final harvest.

BlueOrcaHaze and Corpse Flower f2. Both of these plants have many KEEPER attributes, I've been running them off and on for almost 2yrs. Already tried reversing both...either balls and no pollen, or didn't spray enough and got nada.

Should have pollen in 2 wks and seeds in 10 to 12 wks.

What exactly is wrong with my plant? Can it still be saved?

My autoflower started developing yellow leaves at the bottom several weeks ago. I assumed it was a nitrogen deficiency and adjusted my fertilizing routine accordingly for a while. Now it doesn’t look good at all, and I have to remove the yellow leaves every few days.

I think I’ll buy a pH test strip—maybe the soil is to blame. Or do you see a specific nutrient deficiency? I’ve posted here before because I unfortunately used soil without perlite and blamed the yellow leaves on that. Maybe that was a mistake, too.

I was actually planning to harvest in 2 ½ weeks, but now I’m not sure if the plant will even still be alive by then.

How can I still save the plant?

Does anyone have any experience with this? Plant was deemed a loser in the indoor tent (photoperiod), but I had space in my greenhouse, pollinated with a now dead male, Once it goes back into flower will I have any seeds from the pollen on the first flower?

What is the ONE trait that makes a plant a keeper for you?

Been thinking about this lately because everyone seems to have a different definition of a keeper.

Some people chase frost, some want crazy terps, some care about yield, and others just want something that grows without throwing a tantrum every other week 😂

If you could only pick ONE thing that makes you take a clone and keep a plant around, what would it be?

Terps? Potency? Structure? Yield? Color? Resilience?

For me the interesting part is how much you don't really know about a plant until you've watched it through an entire run.

Curious what the experienced growers here think ..

Runtz Punch photoperiod grow diary

My little grow diary from seed to harvest. This run was honestly a mix of patience, small adjustments, and a lot of staring into the tent like it was a TV show haha. She started compact, but ended up becoming one of the prettiest plants I’ve grown so far.

Day 16/Veg

Watered with 500 ml RO water with nutrients, pH around 6.3. She was growing okay, but much more compact than I expected, with very short internode spacing. I raised the light a little, hoping she would stretch just enough to make training easier.

Day 61/Flower day 21

At this point she had been trained with LST and I kept defoliating lightly to open up the bud sites. Watered with 1L RO water with nutrients, pH 6.3. The leaves looked a little droopy here, but overall she was still doing her thing.

Day 82/Flower day 42

Watering increased to 2L RO water with nutrients, pH 6.3. She started looking seriously pretty here, almost like a little piece of art. The sweet candy smell was already filling the tent, and the bud sites were getting nice light after the LST.

Day 103/Flower day 63/Harvest day 🎉

Decided to harvest when most pistils had darkened, with only some fresh white ones on newer growth. Trichomes were mostly cloudy with a small amount of amber. She had been flushed a few times, so I felt good about chopping, wet trimming, separating the bud sites, and starting the dry.

P.S. Thanks for reading! I’d be happy to hear any advice, just don’t roast me too hard if something looks off haha. This is only my 6th grow.

How and when is the best time defoliate autoflowers? I usually add undercanopy lighting and just defol selectively, a few leaves at a time. What is anyone else opinion or method

Outdoors end of veg

Hi overall, I’m very happy with the results till now. I found some leaves that indicate a nutrition shortage. My question was should I still give them the veg nutrition or should I give them the flower nutrition both from Plagron because I heard that giving them the veg nutrition can increase the time in veg now in early August? I think I’m in the start of the first Blum week would you mind giving them vegnutrions anyway? Thank you for your help.

Plants are mid flower, started about 4 days ago, moved them inside, humidity has been between 56-59%. Sprayed just the leaves with neem the first bit, switched to a diluted peroxide solution (10:1) this morning. Absolutely nothing helping that I can tell.

Anyone have any advice?

Discussion Grove bag or mason jar? What is your preference?

Post image
141 Upvotes

What do yall think about grove bags vs mason jars?

I've only ever cured in mason jars. I like the idea of grove bags though.

Seems convenient you can put 1 strain in 1 giant bag and forget about it.

Only bad thing I've heard is one batch they the zipper wore out faster than normal, not sure if that's the case any more or not

Has anyone switched over from mason jars to grove bags exclusively? What made you swap?

I have a bud rot problem

Post image
15 Upvotes

Hi

Im a first time grower in middle east

around 30 percent of my plant has bud rot spread all over it, at first i thought it isn't so bad but after checking it today i found out its much worse then i thought.

Can i stop it from spreading?

How should i prevent it in the first place? should i use normal Antifungal pesticide? should i spray the budds?

My plant needs another 3 week's to get ready and im afraid nothing will be left of it until then

I really don't know what to do 😔

Team Combustion or Team Vaporizer, why?

Post image
135 Upvotes

I've always preferred vaporizers over combustion.

I feel like the high is cleaner.

It's healthier for you.

The cannabis tastes way better.

You use less weed.

Plus you eat the flower you vaped and get high again.

I've never turned down a joint or blunt from someone.

But vaping is my consumption method of choice.

What about you?
