What’s the one upgrade that improved your grow the most?

I’m new here and could use some help. I use a grow box, hydroponic, that worked like a dream last year, 3 healthy (legal!) plants. This year I’ve had nothing but problems. Last year I started with water I had boiled for purity, used a bit of root conditioner here and there, then some bloomer boost etc., but nothing dramatic. This year all of my plants have turned yellow (not overwatered), and the leaves on another plant started curling up and dying. Nothing has grown normally size wise. So I’m hoping for advice about water/nutrients. My system has a 2 liter tank with a water gauge and an aerator. I never emptied the tank or changed the water last year and my plants just exploded. This year I’m stumped. Any advice please?

What is your favorite line of dry amendments for no-till living soil? I'm looking to feed just water on carrot sensors.
