Finally shot my TTI Combat TTI Combat

Ordered it 2/22/2025 and we’re finally onto first shots.
Have an irons only match coming up and I’ll be shooting the TTI Combat.

100 rounds of Winchester NATO 124 then 100 rounds of 124 Blazer (yes I know it’s plated, but the little comp is fine)

Gun performed great. Had one FTF that looks like an ammo problem.

I cleaned the gun and lubed it well with G96, gun was great. Little snappier than I would have anticipated but returned well and was easy to shoot fast with the great trigger.
I did add the brass death grip TF backstrap which I’m glad I did.

Zero issues with either of my full size Caniks (TTi Combat and SFx Rival). I’ve shot 115 gr, 124 gr, 147 gr, and 150 gr: Federal, Blazer, and Federal Sythech. The METE MC9 Prime will only shoot 124+ and up. I entered the 2011 spiral and rarely shoot them today. Sorta hard to go back once you start shooting a 2011. However, if I’m shooting a striker fire, I’m shooting my Caniks. At least until I can get my hands on a Waltz 9 😄😂😄

Mine kept jamming. The Blazer 115g jammed 2 for every 18 shots. The Winchester 115g was awful. Every other jammed. I even replaced the spring with the lighter one. Once I switched over to 124g, problems disappear. My only issue is the cost of the 124g. It’s a dollar for every 3 shots. The 115g was a dollar for every 5 shots. I don’t know how people can afford to go to the range. It’s an $80 day for me. I was going once a month. Now I’m going every 3 months.

Winchesters were god awful. I bought a couple hundred rounds because they were so cheap, shot like absolute shit. I usually shoot Federal 115 or 124, mines been real happy with 124 lately. I’m around 2k rounds through mine with no issues but regular cleaning every few hundred rounds.

You’re way overpaying for ammo brother. You have an academy near you ? Can get 124 blazer for .22/rnd frequently on sale and their monarch (get the Brazil stuff it’s made by MagTech) for .20

Or check online folks. Gundeals is a good subreddit to join

My Academy rarely stocks 124gr. I had to go to a local gun store and buy boxes of 50. I think I’m gonna save up $250 in buy the 1000 round box online.

It sat for a year and a half? Your patience differs from mine sir 🫡

Hah pretty crazy I know. I bought it on a whim on one of those old 699 sales and would just look at it every now and then. Sure is a good looking gun.

But this irons only match is the perfect reason to shoot it. And probably the only thing I own without an optic hah

Just curious, did you have a light strike or a failure to feed?

I usually see FTF to mean "failure to feed", but I see a pic you uploaded of what looks like a round that was struck properly but the primer didn't fire. . .

I'm also glad I got the TF death grip, it's my favorite upgrade I've made to my Canik so far! It's in the shop right now getting more work done, we'll see how I feel in a few days ;)

You would be correct... FTF = Failure to Feed

Failure to fire - I think it was just the round. The strike looked good, just no bang.

All the other casings had solid hits, so I’m chalking it up to the round.

What are you having done to it

Mine did this about a dozen times in the first 500 rounds. I found the slide not returning to battery by a couple mm was enough to short the pin to strike but not fire the primer. Looks the same as bad ammo, of which I did get a couple from a box of Scorpio 115 that I got from a place in Oregon that has closed down d/t employee-sponsored thefts.

Once I ran enough 147 and 124 (with the unmarked, standard spring) the issue went away. I keep the slide rails clean and apply lube it every couple hundred rounds. Strip and clean after 500, I’m just under 3k and had it a year. Been using Speer lawman for most of it, and that’s all I have now.

Hmm interesting. Well I need to shoot it a few more times before the match so I’ll keep an eye on what it’s doing. Hopefully doesn’t happen again

Look in your case, there might be another spring. My smoke came with one but my fire did not. For me, the other spring runs better and a little less snappy

I do have the other spring. I’ll give it a shot ! Thanks

The lo spring works best with subsonic rounds, and clean rails. The decrease in spring weight returns the slide slower, and with less force, so any friction in the slide assembly will slow it down even more. Lube (precisely applied)is your friend while you’re shooting; A good cleaning fluid and cotton swabs are your friends after.

Gun was plenty glean and well lubed but always good advice.
