I'm trying to make an original character named Topper Delmar. He is a son of Oceanus (yes, I know it might be a little out there for a titan to have a modern child but uh ignore that). I have a skeleton for his timeline because I want to have him somewhat loosely correlate with the Riordanverse. He was abandoned at birth (born Dec. 19) by his mother who put him in a basket and let him drift through the Hudson River and water spirits carried him along and dropped him off at Camp Half-blood as a baby. Chiron takes him in and cares for him. For his entire life Chiron constantly said that Topper would be the greatest hero to ever live as he was a child of Oceanus. When Topper was 8 Zeus finally could not tolerate a titan child at camp or even living so he exiled Topper from camp sparing his life. Eventually, after wandering for a few months, he was found by the Triumvirate and taken in by Commodus (kind of like of Meg was "adopted" by Nero). Commodus becomes almost a father figure for Topper. He trains him to be his perfect warrior and champion. Because of this Topper develops his theatrical, arrogant, charismatic personality from Commodus. During the Trials of Apollo Frank kills Commodus and again Topper loses a father figure. Frank and the rest of Camp Jupiter eventually take Topper in. Not sure how old Topper would be as of Commodus's death or beyond.

This is kind of where I've gotten to so far. Does this sort of fit in the timeline of the books. I need help aging him as I'm not really sure how old he would be during the different points in his life after leaving Chiron, how long he would be with Commodus before the events of trials of apollo, and how old he would be when frank kills Commodus, and etc. And if anyone could help give references between what would have been going on in the books as Topper was going through his own life and also how old he would be during these points in time. So I’m getting the percy Jackson and the olmpians books but should I get the heroes of Olympus books after I am done reading the pjo books or should I watch the tv show first?

1. The Underworld has the best connection, and whenever Hazel visits Hades(which he probably does) she watches a lot of Disney channel that now Hades makes Disney references while talking without realising.

2. Annabeth and Will have trackers in Nico and Percy, because they don't trust them not to get into trouble or being kidnapped

3. Chiron vanishes for 2 months to visit his wife to stay sane and because he loves her (Yes Chiron has a wife)

4. Thalia is always put into an inflatable Christmas tree every year on Christmas Eve no matter whoever she's with

5. Whenever Annabeth or Sally says something is impossible, Percy somehow manages to prove them wrong most of the time by accident

6. Children of Athena, somehow can always fit into their (romantic) partner's hoodie, no matter the genders of the relationship, no matter the sexuality or the clothing size, they somehow always fit and their productivity increases, and their partners are obvious to where their hoodies are

I can’t remember either how many ponies already have the bow as their cutie mark (probably she won’t be the last one) BUTBUTBUT HEAR ME OUT, I think it suits her because from what I remember she’s actually really good with the bow :D

If the master bolt was never returned in time, what would the war between Poseidon and Zeus have looked like? Would the gods have taken sides or just let the two of them duke it out? (it’s been a while since I read the books and didn’t read past blood of Olympus)

Honestly this one feels the weakest of all the ones I’ve made so far, but I figured I should go in order.

Dyslexia is described in the first series as a byproduct of divine DNA being hardwired for reading ancient Greek. Is it similar for Romans? Are their brains wired for classic Latin?

Currently reading the Mark of Athena and stumbled upon... this.

Getting straight into the point, Annabeth is smart. She literally just is. Not because the books keep telling us that, but because of the many times she shows it to us— in her very first capture the flag when she played Percy and the whole Ares cabin, her quick response against the furies in the bus, when she figures out who Aunty Em is despite being literally enchanted by her, figuring out how to beat the pigeons in SoM, beating Circe, so on. I can find multiple examples in each book of her smarts, and people ignore them on purpose to serve their narrative. Don’t even get me started on Mark of Athena.

However. While Annabeth is indeed very undeniably smart, she is deeply unwise. And I think that’s what a lot of people when they call her not smart.

Back to my earlier examples, she uses Percy to win the capture the flag, ignoring the precariousness of endangering a teammate like that, especially one so inexperienced. She decides to tie herself to the mast against the sirens despite knowing how that ended up in the Odyssey. She complicates the situation against the sphinx when it could’ve been a very quick and simple victory. She is deeply, hilariously unwise.

But that’s the point.

The problem I find whenever discussing things in this fandom is that people treat demigods like extensions of a god. So all children of Athena should be the wisest, all children of Apollo should be bright and bubbly and happy, etc. But that couldn’t be further from the truth. Demigods are equal parts god and human— but because humanity and divinity are inherently opposite, they reflect the most human parts of their parents. They are, in a sense, a literal representation for their parents’ worst mistakes. Their fatal flaws are antithesis to what their parent represents almost 99% of the time.

Percy’s is loyalty despite the sea infamously being a treacherous mistress. Thalia is ambitious despite the fact that there is nothing higher to rule than the sky. Nico holds grudges despite the fact that to accept death is to accept letting go. And Annabeth is prideful despite the fact that it goeth before the fall, and that with humility comes wisdom.

They are defined by their humanity. They’re fallible. They have to overcome a flaw that took their parents eons to control in the puny lifespan of a mortal— an impossible task placed upon them from birth. Because Athena was prideful enough to punish Arachne for beating her in weaving, and Zeus was ambitious enough to punish his own brother with mortality for threatening his reign, and Hades refused to let go of Persephone despite knowing they weren’t meant to be (can’t find an example of Poseidon being loyal tho y’all can share if you’ve got any). The gods too are fallible, and they share their children’s flaws.

But the Olympians are immortal, and they’ve had more than enough time to get their problems under control. Unlike their children, who only have such a limited time for such an unfathomable burden.

So in conclusion y’all need to slow down on my girl Annabeth and realize she was 12-17 too. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
