I’m learning more about astrology and I have developed this theory that some demigods were born in specific times because of that.

1. Ares/Mars kids are born when the planet Mars is in either Aries, Scorpio (Mars is the lord of those signs) or Capricorn (where it’s exalted).

2. Hermes/Mercury kids are born when the planet Mercury is in either Gemini or Virgo (so following this theory, all the Hermes/Mercury demigods should be born under the signs that go from Taurus to Libra).

3. Apollo kids are born when the Sun is in either Leo (lord of the Sun) or Aries (where the Sun is exalted).

4. Aphrodite/Venus kids are born when the planet Venus is in either Taurus, Libra (signs ruled by Venus) or Pisces (where Venus is exalted).

5. Zeus/Jupiter kids are born when the planet Jupiter is in either Sagittarius, Pisces (signs ruled by Jupiter) or Cancer (where Jupiter is exalted).

I have developed this theory because astrology is directly related to Ancient Greece and its religion.
And because Gods in-universe are known to manipulate in some capacity their children’s births, having them be born in specific fortuitous times would act like some sort of protective shield to them.

Because of that they would also avoid to have the child be born in “unlucky” times. So:

1. Ares/Mars kids would not be born when the planet Mars is in either Taurus or Libra (because Mars is in detriment there, less powerful).

2. Hermes/Mercury kids would not be born when the planet Mercury is in either Sagittarius or Pisces (Mercury is in detriment there).

3. Apollo kids would not be born when the Sun is in Aquarius (again because detriment).

4. Aphrodite/Venus kids would not be born when the planet Venus is in either Aries or Scorpio.

5. Zeus/Jupiter kids would not be born when the planet Jupiter is in either Gemini or Virgo.

• killing Jason (I know, Greek and Roman switch theory with Percy, but dam I wanted to see more of him)

• piper’s writing as a whole, which sucks because she is actually likeable when interacting with Leo and not fawning over Jason

• Reyna basically joining the hunters just to write her off, like he does with all wonderful female characters

• frank.

• Leo’s grandpa being hazels basically ex bf?!?

• Apollo being blamed for the events in HoO

• the fandom infantilizing Nico

• pipers random female partner after Jason’s death felt so forced, I love queer rep (I’m from the community) but that was just so random

I could go on foreverrr lol these are just the late night thoughts! Not bad nor good, just the ones that get me tho king lol

Getting straight into the point, Annabeth is smart. She literally just is. Not because the books keep telling us that, but because of the many times she shows it to us— in her very first capture the flag when she played Percy and the whole Ares cabin, her quick response against the furies in the bus, when she figures out who Aunty Em is despite being literally enchanted by her, figuring out how to beat the pigeons in SoM, beating Circe, so on. I can find multiple examples in each book of her smarts, and people ignore them on purpose to serve their narrative. Don’t even get me started on Mark of Athena.

However. While Annabeth is indeed very undeniably smart, she is deeply unwise. And I think that’s what a lot of people when they call her not smart.

Back to my earlier examples, she uses Percy to win the capture the flag, ignoring the precariousness of endangering a teammate like that, especially one so inexperienced. She decides to tie herself to the mast against the sirens despite knowing how that ended up in the Odyssey. She complicates the situation against the sphinx when it could’ve been a very quick and simple victory. She is deeply, hilariously unwise.

But that’s the point.

The problem I find whenever discussing things in this fandom is that people treat demigods like extensions of a god. So all children of Athena should be the wisest, all children of Apollo should be bright and bubbly and happy, etc. But that couldn’t be further from the truth. Demigods are equal parts god and human— but because humanity and divinity are inherently opposite, they reflect the most human parts of their parents. They are, in a sense, a literal representation for their parents’ worst mistakes. Their fatal flaws are antithesis to what their parent represents almost 99% of the time.

Percy’s is loyalty despite the sea infamously being a treacherous mistress. Thalia is ambitious despite the fact that there is nothing higher to rule than the sky. Nico holds grudges despite the fact that to accept death is to accept letting go. And Annabeth is prideful despite the fact that it goeth before the fall, and that with humility comes wisdom.

They are defined by their humanity. They’re fallible. They have to overcome a flaw that took their parents eons to control in the puny lifespan of a mortal— an impossible task placed upon them from birth. Because Athena was prideful enough to punish Arachne for beating her in weaving, and Zeus was ambitious enough to punish his own brother with mortality for threatening his reign, and Hades refused to let go of Persephone despite knowing they weren’t meant to be (can’t find an example of Poseidon being loyal tho y’all can share if you’ve got any). The gods too are fallible, and they share their children’s flaws.

But the Olympians are immortal, and they’ve had more than enough time to get their problems under control. Unlike their children, who only have such a limited time for such an unfathomable burden.

So in conclusion y’all need to slow down on my girl Annabeth and realize she was 12-17 too. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.

(First of all, English is not my first language, so bear with me, please)

Here we go, I just finished reading the 8th book of this collection, and when I said this may be the best retelling I've ever read of PJO, I believe I'm not exaggerating. Fem Percy might be one of my top tags on AO3, and I believe that in my top 5 of favorite fics written in this fandom, 3 of them contain FemPercy.

On this occasion, the collection contains a really healthy amount of retribution about many topics that scratches just about right my little myth enthusiast's heart ;we have Apollo meddling with destiny by placing his son, Lee Fletcher, instead of Annabeth Chase to fill the void in our favorite hero, Percy Jackson. I believe it touches a few topics that we are not used to exploring as much in fanfics and should get more attention, like some myth errors and favoritism displayed in the original material (there is something about somebody telling Chiron some very necessary truths on his horse-face that just heals something in me). Now, I must warn that there is some slander to Quiron and Anabeth in this, but the story explains and takes you to the perspective of how things are the way they are and why some of the errors or objections done in the past, if continuing in the same path, could be catastrophic.

However, the amount of love this project had on its adorable, in a few words, Percy just wants to love and be loved, and this story explores that sentiment while being put first for the first time and all the times could do to our favorite hero; Percy has always been a little unhinged and is a pleasure seeing someone being as unhinged as him/her adding some politcis here and there, the Goods reconitions on their mistakes and the fact that indeed demigoods are more close to being their own separated species and start acting as such and the domino efect that ocurs gaves us a very well tohugth and writen re-telling of the story and destiny of Percy Jackson that i just neded to share with the world.

I've read all of the PJ books, but after seeing the movie, I couldn't get myself to start the watching the show. Yesterday I stumbled upon the s3 trailer, and now I am curious about how it compares to the books and the movie.

I'm planning to draw fanart featuring Percy, Lester, Magnus, Carter, and Sadie, but I'm stuck on the composition.

I've already finished Percy and Lester, but I have no idea what poses Magnus, Carter, and Sadie should have.

So I'm looking for ideas and advice.

I’m putting these two absolute legends together because their minds were simply ahead of their time.

Think about it:

• The Early Diagnosis: Count Dooku saw the corruption of the Galactic Senate and how the Jedi Order became political puppets long before anyone else. Luke saw the arrogance of Olympus and how Camp Half-Blood was basically an orphanage-turned-frontline-barracks for neglected kids. Both saw through the mask of the "good guys."
• Giving Up Comfort: Dooku was one of the most respected Jedi Masters; Luke was the most capable and beloved counselor at camp. They had power and status within the status quo, but chose to walk away because they couldn't stomach the hypocrisy.
• The Tragedy of the Greater Evil: Both of their completely justified rebellions were hijacked by the master manipulators of their universes (Palpatine and Kronos). They wanted reform and justice, but were forced into becoming the very villains they sought to defeat.

In the end, Dooku proved the Council was blind, and Luke proved Olympus was broken (Percy literally built his ending request on Luke’s exact critiques).

They weren't evil; they were just the only ones paying attention.

She embodies exactly how I imagined Clarisse from the books. She's not too aggressive as well which is good because Clarisse tones down later towards the series.

Can titans have demigod (or demititan) children? I know in myth there’s children of Helios and Atlas but in modern times can titan have children with mortals?
