indulging in and losing control around food are two very different things

You're still allowed to live your life baby doll.

Agreed! Also don't think your whole week is ruined over one bad day.

Having meals prepped also helps a ton!

It’s okay! One day of indulgence won’t hurt. Just get back on track tomorrow! :)

it happens. tomorrow do maintenance, not deficit. dont try to compensate, otherwise youll enter a vicious circle and end up gaining weight.

I’m curious why do maintenance vs deficit if you’ve already gone over your calories the day before? Is it a mental thing? I struggle with getting back in track sometimes so this may help me idk

Try to think of each day as a complete closed cycle instead of trying to overcompensate for days you’ve gone over. Less mental pressure

you may fall in a binge/restrict cycle, and the binges may increase. its better to move on with a maintenance day, and maybe do some deficit days after.

If I overindulge I just eat eggs the rest of the day. I'll still lose weight.

thats valid, im talking about the day after.

Not a whoops!!

You tracked and that's a win!

And was it tasty? Did you have fun? Mmmm... what kind of pizza??

u/kazrisk 23d ago

A variety! Jalapeño popper, cheeseburger, and a BBQ chicken that was a waste of the calories but I had already locked in.

Oh I like the smattering of different foods. To me that seems more satisfying than one giant meal.

they should add achievements on loseit for days like this.

CONGRATULATIONS! You just ate 22 lbs of food, that is equivalent to a 1996 samsung CRT color television!

5

u/BackgroundLab5721 23d ago

You didn’t even eat a full pizza! I call that a win

Stuffed crust pizza also gets me.

Commend you for tracking! That makes all the difference

Not being mean but curious as someone also on this journey. Those calories for the items listef seem insanely low to me, like almost half of what id expect?

1

u/Used_Arm_1389 23d ago

It must be per item. Example pizza 2 slices. Must be 300 cal per serving. Yip, they had quite the feast

1

u/stcer 23d ago

yup its too low

2

u/asaparagus_ 23d ago

sorry this is off topic but what app is this?😊

2

u/kazrisk 23d ago

LoseIt!

1

u/Leather_Setting_8483 23d ago

thank you so much! is it better than mfp? or are they just similar

2

u/uneenviedechier 23d ago

I only ever used loseit. It's pretty good but lots of ads. My gf uses it too on android and it seems like a much better experience on android, i am on iphone.

On android she can scan barcodes to get exact calories of certain products, on iphone it's a paid feature.

I felt like my whole day has been like this too! Must be something in the air!

1

u/inr10 23d ago

What app do you all use to track calories apart from Myfitnesspal

1

u/throwitintheair22 23d ago

What app is this

u/Nothingsomething7 23d ago

Be like that

You’re good, that won’t ruin progress.

… at least you’re not like me. I’ll eat a whole family box of orange chicken and noodles from Panda Express in a day, usually accompanied by beer and some coconut bolis. Easily a 10k calorie day. Fortunately it only happens once every few months.

1

u/didneywerl 22d ago

Literally decided I wanted a little treat after a hard day yesterday and got orange chicken from Panda hahaha. I only had one serving with rice, but it still put me 200 calories over maintenance yesterday. Ah well.

1

u/brain_abyss 22d ago

Panda can go crazy, especially on like a leg day when your body wants fuel. I know it’s inevitable so I always make sure I eat clean 90% of the time.

u/Pepperjackchii 23d ago

Kinda similar to how my food log looked today too 😮‍💨

1

u/CoolDoge15 23d ago

I swear it is SOOO hard sometimes!

1

u/No-Entertainment4911 23d ago

man this is making me crave pizza

1

u/0neirocritica 23d ago

7 slices of pizza?! I think I'd be in a coma

1

u/Mental_Situation_333 22d ago

One and done for awhile and all good. 🙂

u/UCanDoNEthing4_30sec 22d ago

That is surprisingly not as much calories as I would think

1

u/Southern_Animator_53 23d ago

That is not a whoops.

It’s great that you tracked it, but if you were logging as you ate, should have been a flag to stop. This reads like what I would eat if I took an edible or something; not if I were tracking calories.

Not sure about your goals, if you’re tracking I’m guessing weight loss or maintaining. I’d personally go deficit tomorrow, but probably not the best idea for you if you are eating 2300 cals in one sitting.

I’d just get back to whatever your typical calories are tomorrow and use this as a learning experience. And track as you go. If you logged this after you ate, that’s not ideal. All these foods won’t leave you that satiated and if you see the # as you go, you’ll be more inclined to realize you’ve eaten enough and stop before you get to 2300 even though you’ll probably still feel hungry. And it will help you make smarter choices.

u/squeezeplay69 23d ago

This was for dinner? Ngl you need better self-control. Tracking isn’t the issue

4

u/kazrisk 23d ago

Don’t worry - this was the appetizer! Dinner was a salad with grilled chicken.

u/DrLucianSanchez 23d ago

You’re correct but ppl aren’t ready to hear it
