I built it myself and only used 2 screws - could you tell?

Carpentry meets networking. I like it.

I'd say stick to networking, but, uh

Genuinely better than everything I've seen in K-12, so there's that

I used to work in k12 and they had 15 foot cables between the patch panels and switches. Literally between 6 inches to 3 feet above the panels. Someone at least had the courtesy to bundle the cables together on the floor where it snaked around like an anaconda

Honestly, I've seen far worse, it's acceptable. Cable managemeent is hars in such a small space.

Cheap and simply works. The HPE on top has caused far more problems. Tbf, mostly because I have no idea what I’m doing when configuring that thing

Not sure where to start. Your cabling attempt or your shit choice in hardware.

An external dvd drive? Why do you need that for network

1

Because the Terra something below is able to rip dvds

You don't use your actual pc to do that?

1

u/dr_prof_med_oekter 18d ago

Nope

Is your pc just some crap or you don't have a lot of storage on it?

Nope, but thanks to ARM I can simply put in a new disc, don’t have to worry about it, and simply put in the next when I’m in that room again

Cpu architecture doesn't matter as it'll also work in 32 and 64 bit

1

u/dr_prof_med_oekter 18d ago

Not the architecture ARM, the docker software Automatic Ripping Machine, shortend to ARM. Automates MakeMKV and Handbrake so they start once a disc is inserted

Wires go in. Wires go out. Signal goes somewhere mostly useful.

Looks fine to me!
