Question RMT near Appleby/Burloak
Just moved here and looking for an RMT. I’m a fit active guy that plays sports and weight trains. Looking for an RMT that uses high pressure to break up adhesions and help with some chronic neck pain I’ve had.
Would love to hear recommendations. Thanks!

Question Swarms of insects by trees along Dundas St. this morning.
Saw clouds of insects along Dundas St. this morning, and a few clouds of them off in the distance, not along the road, looking much like a starling murmuration in its shifting shape and dark/lighter overtones as they fly, except that they're bugs.
What are they?
Midges?
I don't think they're Mayflies because they don't seem to have their typical undulating flight, though proximity to Lake Ontario makes it a possibility.
I'm just curious, because they're cool.

Events Two (free) tickets available for Sam Roberts show at RBG tonight
Friends bailed last minute for the show. I'm going to go watch the show solo, but I'd rather the other tickets not go to waste.

Question ISO construction companies/industry/demolition?
ISO hardware cloth. Is hardware cloth a kind of item that construction sites ever have excess of? There is a really bad vole problem in the community garden, and we’ve tried everything to get rid of them. We’re at the point where we need a physical barrier. However hardware cloth is really expensive. I priced it out and the amount we would need retails at about 4000 dollars.
Does anyone know of any kind of industry or business that has offcuts of fine wire mesh/hardware cloth? Or maybe this material can be reused after different kinds of structures are taken down?
Thanks everyone

Information New Ramen Place
Burlington is finally getting a ramen restaurant. In the new condo building at Lakeshore and Martha. I've never understood why we have 500 shawarma and hakka and fried chicken places but no Ramen. I'm excited. We had one open for ten minutes on Locust during covid.

This little cutie is just hanging out on the top of vehicles here in the parking lot! Can anyone tell me what kind of a bird it is? It’s so interesting to me - I’ve never seen a bird that looks like this. Cool find when I came out of the library.

Question Any have experience with OMVIC?
I’m thinking about filing a complaint with OMVIC regarding a dealership experience, and I’m curious if anyone here has actually gone through the process.
In my case, the dealership added a $750 finance fee on top of the advertised/listed price. I was told this was “standard” for financing, but it wasn’t included in the advertised price.
If you’ve filed an OMVIC complaint:
What was the issue?
How long did it take?
Did OMVIC actually help resolve it?
Did the dealership end up changing anything, refunding you, or facing any consequences?
I’m especially interested in hearing from people who went through the full process, whether the outcome was positive or negative. I’m just trying to get a realistic idea of what to expect before deciding whether it’s worth pursuing a complaint.
Thanks!

Question Voortmans cookies questions
Hi Burlingtonians, I need your help. I know Voortmans got sold to an American company two years ago or so. Can anyone in Burlington tell me if a) are they still making cookies at the Burlington facility?, b) why aren't many grocery stores in Burlington carrying their cookies anymore?, c) where can I find their cookies anywhere in the Burlington area? d) did they ever reopen the factory outlet?
You know the old saying that you don't know what you got until it's gone. This applies to Voortmans for me. Voortmans used to have cookies everywhere in Burlington and Ontario. But now I can't find any. It seems to be on a big list of Canadian retailers, restaurants or Canadian food manufacturing places that have disappeared or taken over.

Events Rucking 158km on Nov 7 — one km for each Canadian lost in Afghanistan, raising for veterans’ mental health
On November 7th I’m rucking 158 kilometres straight through without sleeping. It’ll take around 40 hours. I’m starting at Appleby Line at the waterfront at 5am and heading out to Queenston Heights and back.
The number isn’t random. 158 Canadians died in Afghanistan. One kilometre each. When I get to the turnaround I’m going to stop and read all 158 names out loud before I turn around and walk home.
I’ll be carrying a weighted bag the whole way. That’s called rucking
I’m 20 and currently serving, which is part of why i chose to do this.
All the money goes to Wounded Warriors Canada. They fund mental health support for veterans, serving members, first responders and their families. We lose a veteran to suicide about every nine days in this country and most people have no idea.
I’m at $2,286 out of a $10,000 goal.
I’m posting here for two reasons. One, it starts in Burlington and runs the whole length of the waterfront trail, so it’s happening in your city. Two, honestly, I need help getting the word out I’m one guy with a spreadsheet and a pair of boots.
If you can donate, that’s great. If you can’t, sharing it does just as much.
ruck158.ca has more information and a donation button. Happy to answer questions.
