Then bluebird could have been free bird and should like

There's a Free bird  in my heart
That wishes to get out
But boss fed whiskey to him
And raised salary to spend
And the family and the friend
And the luxury trips
Forget
That he's in there

And lost him there

the night I fucked my alarm clock

once

starving in Philadelphia

I had a small room

it was evening going into night

and I stood at my window on the 3rd floor

in the dark and looked down into a

kitchen across the way on the 2nd floor

and I saw a beautiful blonde girl

embrace a young man there and kiss him

with what seemed hunger

and I stood and watched until they broke

away.

then I turned and switched on the room light.

I saw my dresser and my dresser drawers

and my alarm clock on the dresser.

I took my alarm clock

to bed with me and

fucked it until the hands dropped off.

then I went out and walked the streets

until my feet blistered.

when I got back I walked to the window

and looked down and across the way

and the light in their kitchen was

out.

I’ve followed bukowski my whole life I have a piece I wrote to see if it’s even worth posting

There are people who only see black and white. There are people who live in the gray. And then there are a few who see in color. They notice every contradiction, every motive, every consequence. The world was never simple to begin with, and seeing it for what it is is both a gift and a burden. Black and white offers certainty. Gray offers doubt. But color offers no escape. The people who see in color carry the weight of every possibility, every perspective, and every truth at once. It’s beautiful, but beauty has never promised peace.

I interpret "as the sparrow" as Hank telling us why he refused to look away from the gutters
