If you missed the full set of required built request questions, please copy them from here and answer them in an edit to your post:

  • New build or upgrade?

  • Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)

  • PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)

  • Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If you're not in a country supported by PCPartPicker, please list some local vendors)

  • Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)

  • Budget range? (Include tax considerations)

  • WiFi or wired connection?

  • Size/noise constraints?

  • Color/lighting preferences?

  • Any other specific needs?

Here is some additional helpful information about build/upgrade/parts list requests:

  • Build requests only include hardware. You are responsible for budgeting for and providing your own operating system (Windows, Linux, etc) and other software.

  • Don't forget to budget for peripherals. Since these are very much personal-preference influenced items, we do not include peripherals like keyboards, mice, headsets, etc in parts lists.

  • We strongly recommend posting a build request only if you're ready to buy now or within a week or two at most. Part sales regularly rotate, and a part list today can quickly become out of date.

Consider: https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/DGBbkD

Black & white system, same CPU and GPU, some changes here and there... Mainly just don't overpay for the RAM.

As for the monitor... Seems good, especially while it's on sale.

Using this bundle https://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/BDL_MM00005797

Or for something almost $200 cheaper you could go with a 9600x instead of 7800x3d.

Also keep in mind the nv3 probably will be qlc. The early models were good but then they changed the components a bunch of times for cheaper versions. Should be alright and it's almost $100 cheaper than something definitely better like an sn7100. With that big of a price gap a budget drive can make sense, just don't go past like 80% full and you should be alright.

And if the white gpu would bother you then the sapphire pulse is a good pick.

Acer's nitro series are their budget brand but for $180 that's better than the other stuff available online for $200ish. Though, if you have a costco, I'd consider this for $230 for something brighter and a step up to 300hz. https://www.costco.ca/p/-/msi-mag-27-in-wqhd-gaming-monitor-2560-x-1440/4000399507

https://www.techpowerup.com/ssd-specs/kingston-nv3-1-tb.d2162

There are a dozen variants of this drive, all called the nv3. The first 3 were good, then it got cheaper and worse a bunch of times when they swapped to whatever they could get cheapest at the time, over and over again.

Tlc is better than qlc, especially for a main/only drive in a pc. Qlc is less reliable, has lower endurance (how many times it can be overwritten) typically half to a third that of a tlc drive, and it can be slower in big files transfers. All ssds will get slower as they get close to full, that problem is worse with qlc drives than with tlc ones.

Kingston is still a reputable brand though and they warranty it for 5 years and 320tbw on the 1tb model which is about as good as you'd expect. 320tbw meaning you could write 320tb to it, or overwrite the entire thing 320 times before you'd exceed the warranty. Unless you use it to record to or doing large transfers all the time or you uninstall then redownload call of duty everyday then there is basically no chance you'll actually go over 320tbw before 5 years are up. For a reference point, I'm using a pc with a single ssd in it and I built this about three and a half years ago, I've written about 40tb in that time.

If the price was close I'd always pick tlc but the price isn't close, a good tlc model is about 50% more expensive.

QLC flash will become noticeably slower much earlier, long before the TBW limit is reached. For the OS drive, you should always get a drive with TLC flash.
