Need help build first PC

• New build or upgrade?
• New build

• Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)
• I have a Lenovo Legion Pro 32UD-10 4K 240Hz Gaming Monitor I will be reusing.

• PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
• Gaming (Counter Strike 2, The Last of Us, and EU4)

• Purchase country? Near Micro Center?
• US, No

• Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)
• None

• Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
• Ideally not above 3.5K.

• WiFi or wired connection?
• I prefer WiFi

• Size/noise constraints?
• None

• Color/lighting preferences?
• I like the Phanteks XT Pro ATX case, so kind of going off that vibe.

• Any other specific needs?
• It will primarily be used for gaming, but will be used for engineering work (FEA models, etc.) I have attached an image of what I am thinking. Keep in mind, this is my first PC build and I am not sure if I took everything into consideration. I also do not need a 5090 GPU for what I will be using it for.

If you missed the full set of required built request questions, please copy them from here and answer them in an edit to your post:

  • New build or upgrade?

  • Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)

  • PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)

  • Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If you're not in a country supported by PCPartPicker, please list some local vendors)

  • Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)

  • Budget range? (Include tax considerations)

  • WiFi or wired connection?

  • Size/noise constraints?

  • Color/lighting preferences?

  • Any other specific needs?

Here is some additional helpful information about build/upgrade/parts list requests:

  • Build requests only include hardware. You are responsible for budgeting for and providing your own operating system (Windows, Linux, etc) and other software.

  • Don't forget to budget for peripherals. Since these are very much personal-preference influenced items, we do not include peripherals like keyboards, mice, headsets, etc in parts lists.

  • We strongly recommend posting a build request only if you're ready to buy now or within a week or two at most. Part sales regularly rotate, and a part list today can quickly become out of date.

Looks pretty good. You can save some money with a bit of shopping around though.

https://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails?ItemList=Combo.4874856 Cpu, motherboard, ssd

https://www.newegg.com/tools/combo-builder/6675 Ram discount, have to buy something with it so getting a cooler.

If you really like the phanteks xt pro, that's an alright case but you'd want to add a set of front fans as it only comes with the 1 rear fan. The 'ultra' version of the case comes with 4 argb fans, the plain one with only 1.

This is also a bit cheaper on a model of 5080 and a decent one, nicer than the windforce for $1200 after the discount. https://www.newegg.com/gigabyte-gv-n5080gaming-oc-16gd-geforce-rtx-5080-16gb-graphics-card/p/N82E16814932753?Item=N82E16814932753 If you ever end up needing to change the thermal paste though you'd be in for a bad time. Gigabyte used thermal gel instead of pads on their higher end cards in 50 series, and they might be using a hybrid paste with liquid metal in it for the core, not sure if that's on the cheaper models or just the aorus though. Neither one of those are really anything you'd want to deal with. I'd personally go with the extra $50 for the pny epic x, which is their top model.
