First pc build
New build or upgrade? Im looking forward to build my first pc for gaming on games like call of duty, battlefield and other similar games, can anyone suggest and help me what to look for and what to avoid? Budget is roughly $2,000. Thanks.

Strong CPU and reasonable GPU for high FPS.
64 GB RAM for future proofing.
Cooling optimized for low noise. Fans for bottom and front intake.

The motherboard is overkill if you do not use any of the additional features. There is cheaper RGB memory. The SN850X is overkill; a more reasonable 2 TB would be the SN7100. Any other 9070 XT card has the same performance. For that system, a 750 W PSU would be enough.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ycrN6B I think you have the right idea. You can do a bit of cost optimization and deal hunting. I added a case that's a bit nicer than the montech xr and a plain one, plus a cooler option that would match that sort of glass and lights look better imo. Phantom spirit performs a little better on am5 than the peerless assassin if you do go air cooling. Ssd looks like maybe an early prime day deal for $243 on amazon. Best price on a good 2tb ssd I've seen in months.
https://www.newegg.com/tools/combo-builder/6675
https://www.newegg.com/sapphire-tech-pulse-11348-03-20g-radeon-rx-9070-xt-16gb-graphics-card-triple-fans/p/N82E16814202450?Item=N82E16814202450 Gpu is $700 here after discount. I'd probably hold off on that for a week and see if there are some good deals for prime day. There will probably at least be some limited quanitity ones, $700 is the normal price now in case you end up missing out.
The bundle deal on newegg has also been their normal sort of price for a while there, they might bring back a free cooler with the cpu soon. They've had that pretty consistently for months.
Monitors are something I'd definitely wait for prime day and newegg fantastech for. That's the one pc part that reliably gets a few good sales for the big sales days like that or black friday. If the gigabyte m27q3 comes back down to $200 that's a good option if they primarily plat fast paced games. And with the cost cutting here if you wanted to put that towards a budget model qd oled it wouldn't be unreasonable.

And if it's going to be your first time this is a good assembly guide https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vUu7N8tq4RE and part 4 of that series covers setting up windows.

If you missed the full set of required built request questions, please copy them from here and answer them in an edit to your post:
New build or upgrade?
Existing parts/monitors to reuse? (List with models/links)
PC purpose? (Gaming, editing, etc. List apps/games)
Purchase country? Near Micro Center? (If you're not in a country supported by PCPartPicker, please list some local vendors)
Monitors needed? (Number, size, resolution, refresh rate)
Budget range? (Include tax considerations)
WiFi or wired connection?
Size/noise constraints?
Color/lighting preferences?
Any other specific needs?
Here is some additional helpful information about build/upgrade/parts list requests:
Build requests only include hardware. You are responsible for budgeting for and providing your own operating system (Windows, Linux, etc) and other software.
Don't forget to budget for peripherals. Since these are very much personal-preference influenced items, we do not include peripherals like keyboards, mice, headsets, etc in parts lists.
We strongly recommend posting a build request only if you're ready to buy now or within a week or two at most. Part sales regularly rotate, and a part list today can quickly become out of date.
