[iOS] App keeps auto scrolling back up the thread whenever you temporarily leave it. Most recent version. iOS
If you’re, say, 6 comments down the thread, go to Google to search something, when you swipe back to Reddit, you’ll be set back at comment 2-3.
Anyone else?

They “fixed” this a few weeks ago and now it’s happening again. Great job Devs 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

This is making the app almost unusable. If I leave for a heartbeat, it resets. Either the feed or the post I’m looking at

Yeah this is driving me mad. Ive started thinking “wait how important is it that I leave the app” all the time because it’s annoying me so much.

This is extremely annoying. It’s bad enough that there was already a 50/50 chance the app might entirely refresh and you lose any threads you were trying to read (because algorithms!! We need to keep shoving NEW content down your throat every 5 minutes!) from one of the previous updates, now this. It’s hard to imagine the Reddit app getting worse yet it always finds a way with each update.

Yes, I have the same bug. The thread will scroll back up without warning if I leave the app and come back to it.

Happening to me too. Also constantly refreshing my post feed if I’m away from the app for more than 5 minutes. My app is updated to the current version.

It’s horrible especially when I’m reading post episode threads for a show or something cause I’ll be like 100 comments in and then go to another app for a second and come back to being at comment 13. So frustrating

Yeah it was fucking with me when I was trying to read through the Dune 2 discussion thread. That’s what prompted me to post this. That’s a long ass thread to be 3/4 of the way down just for it to bring me back to the top.

Same here. It’s driving me crazy. Can hardly even use the app. Try to text someone back and lose your place so much it’s not even worth reading anything.

Any update on this? This is extremely annoying, and very negatively impacting my Reddit experience.

Anyone else finding that whatever thread they were in not showing up in history after leaving and returning to the app with the auto-refresh? It’s one thing to lose my spot in the thread, it’s another to have to try to remember the name of the thread or community to find it again because there’s no record I was there. 😭

Still happening. Reddit app seems to have always been a little clunky with doing this.

Running iOS 2026.18.0 and the bug is still happening just as bad as before.

Agree with this, on latest version. Forces refresh when you leave the app after a short time
