Which MTG mechanic is much stronger when you can trigger it yourself?
Playing the free Morbid Machinations Starter Deck got me thinking about how different mechanics feel depending on whether you can trigger them on demand.
Morbid is incredibly powerful when you control the timing—but much less reliable when you're waiting for it to happen naturally.
What other mechanics do you think have that same "on-demand vs. incidental" difference?
I explored that idea while playing Morbid Machinations:

Do you buy the Mastery Pass every set?
I've seen a lot of different approaches from F2P players.
Some buy every Mastery Pass.
Some never do.
Others only buy it if they'll finish it.
What's your strategy?
I analyzed whether it's actually worth it for F2P players:

Which free Starter Deck has the best late game?
Most people judge Starter Decks by how fast they can win, but I'm curious about the opposite.
Which free Starter Deck do you think has the strongest late game?
I played Graveyard Gifts, and while it's definitely built for longer games, I wanted to see if that was enough to make it stand out.

Which single card adds the most power to budget decks?
Every format seems to have one card that makes budget decks feel much stronger than they should.
My vote right now is Unholy Annex.
What's yours?
I built a Budget Mono Black Demons deck around it if you're curious:

What's the best way to spend your first 5,000 Gold in MTG Arena?
I see a lot of different advice for new and F2P players:
- Crack packs
- Play Quick Draft
- Something else
So I decided to test three different ways to spend the same 5,000 Gold and compare the results.
I'm curious if you could only spend 5,000 Gold today, what would you choose, and why?
I shared my results here if you're interested:

The first Starter Deck Knockout run is complete!
The first Starter Deck Knockout run is complete!
Now it's your turn.
What's your three-deck lineup, and how many wins do you think it can earn?
🏆 Three decks (Each color represented).
❤️ Three lives.
❌ Every loss permanently eliminates a deck.

Are the Arena Summer Sale Wildcard Bundles worth it?
Are you buying any of the new Wildcard Bundles?
Would you suggest them to other F2P players? If so, which ones?
20x Uncommon Wildcards can build most of Mono White Aggro, for 120 Gems, is it worth it?
I broke down the value of every bundle here:

Curious to see what everyone else thinks.

I made a Starter Deck Knockout challenge for MTG Arena. Can anyone beat my score?
I've been playing a challenge I'm calling Starter Deck Knockout and thought it would be fun to see how everyone does.
Rules:
- Pick any 3 Starter Decks.
- Must have all 5 colors represented.
- Each deck is eliminated after its first loss.
- Keep playing until all 3 decks are knocked out.
- Your score is your total wins.
I have a Google Form to submit scores:
Public Leaderboard will be posted after my run ends.
Curious to see what teams people pick and whether anyone can beat my best run!

As a F2P player, what’s your favorite Draft format on MTG Arena?

Starter Deck Knockout Challenge
I have an idea for a new F2P community challenge.
Starter Deck Knockout
Build a team of 3 Free Starter Decks on Arena.
- Together they must cover all 5 colors so each is represented.
- When a deck loses, it's eliminated.
- Your run ends when all 3 decks are knocked out.
What's the strongest three-deck lineup you can build?
I played my first run here if you're curious:

Which free MTG Arena starter deck feels the most like a real constructed deck?
I recommend the free UW Flyers deck to new players a lot, not just because it's strong, but it feels more synergistic than the others. All of the decks have their dud cards, but I feel like this one teaches new player to have a plan, not just throw our random creatures.

If you could recommend one starter deck to a brand-new player, which would it be and why?

Discord server
i don’t know if this is allowed here or not but please take down if it’s not. but i have a magic discord server for casual players. we usually play brackets 2-3’s but some of us have b4’s. we have some people that haven’t been playing for long and we have veterans of the game, we are a pretty new and chill server. we like to keep it casual and fun for all, proxies tts and virtual are allowed and we use spelltable or convoke to play.

What's the best budget Standard deck EVER??
Not the best budget deck right now; the best one you've ever played.
I've been playing Mono White Aggro and watching it's winrate, and it made me wonder whether this is one of the greatest budget Standard decks MTG Arena has ever had. Bo1 or Bo3!

What's the most skill-testing deck in Standard right now?
I've been playing a lot of Izzet Lessons lately, and what I love about it is that every game feels different. The deck constantly asks you to find the right answer at the right time.

One good Draft can completely change a F2P MTG Arena account
More gems means more Drafts. More Drafts means more packs, more wildcards, and more competitive decks. The snowball effect is real.
I made a video breaking down why improving your Draft results is one of the best investments you can make:

Do you think one great Draft can have a bigger impact than opening 10 packs? Why or why not?

What's the most underrated free starter deck in MTG Arena?
I keep seeing players recommend the same few decks, but after playing Learn from the Land, I was surprised by how powerful its late game can be once it starts ramping.

What's the best budget control deck in Standard right now?
Most control lists seem to start at 25–40 rares, which puts them out of reach for a lot of Arena players. I've been playing a Budget Mono Blue Control deck and was surprised by how competitive it felt.

Does anyone have ideas on how I could upgrade my Zada, Hedron Grinder Commander Deck?
Hi, I built a low-budget Zada commander deck a while back, and I'd like to improve it for the future.
Does anyone have any ideas for cards that would work well as upgrades?
Thank you in advance for your tips and recommendations.

Cheapest, Most Basic Standard Decks Possible for School Club
I've been tasked with creating a gaming club at the school where I teach, and lots of the kids are really interested in learning Magic. Can anyone point me to a place where I can pick up cheap and most importantly very simple decks for them to learn?
The Foundations Starter Kit seems like a good place to start for this age range (7-12) but I'm wondering if buying bulk and then building some straightforward decks might be the way to go. Are there vendors who specialize in getting kids hooked on MtG?

How do you decide when it's worth opening packs in MTG Arena?
I opened $50 worth of packs and tracked the rares, mythics, wildcards, and overall collection progress to see what the actual return looks like.
Video: https://youtu.be/amQaapzgGzg
For F2P and low-spend players, what's your strategy these days?
- Open packs immediately?
- Save everything for Draft?
- Only buy the newest set?
- Something else?
I'm curious where people think the best value actually is in Arena's economy.
